They have different specials so I am looking them up on IG from now on. My husband really liked the burrito. It was super spicy. The pork was tender and flavorful. Looking forward to trying the breakfast burritos. Burrito special all summer, yay!

A food truck in Bakersfield? Oh yes! We're moving up in the foodie world…read more Located on the corner of 16th Street and D Street in downtown Bako, this little food truck is a God-send for the employees of nearby Mercy Hospital and other businesses. We arrived to find half a dozen people already standing outside the truck, with a guy outside taking phone orders. He was quite busy taking those orders, so don't be surprised if you call in and can't get through; just plan on calling far enough ahead to avoid the lunch rush. In fact, calling ahead seems to be the ideal game plan. Not that the wait for long, but standing outside certainly makes it feel longer than it is. After seeing their drool-worthy Instagram photo of the Pambazo, I was sold. What is a pambazo? Well, think a torta but way messier. It's filled with potatoes and chorizo, and finished off with some of the typical torta toppings. Then (here's the kicker!) it's drenched in a red pepper sauce. Grab a handful of napkins with this sandwich; you're going to need them. In all, I was pleased with the quality and efficiency of The Curbside Kitchen; and just in time since NV Cafe closed their doors recently. I'm excited to try some of their other menu items.

Thanks to my Yelp friends Sharlette and T S, we decided to come here…read more We went on the evening of April 1 and this was no April fools joke the food was legit. We got there a little late since they started at 5 and we got there at 7, but had time to go into recon mode and scout out what we wanted. As usual my wife and son broke off and made other choices...and as usual after they had a bite of mine they kicked themselves for not getting what I chose. My wife got something from the "healthy" truck, my son chose Wise Barbecue and I decided on Kim Bob Rex Sushi - Burrito truck and after so many choices decided on the Mighty Eel burrito. I probably should have taken a better picture of the menu to tell you everything in it, but two pieces of Eel I remember and I believe snow crab surrounded by rice and it seemed like a soy paper burrito wrap. Whatever was in it besides that was just a little slice of delicious and I enjoyed every last bite. There are shared tables here at this and the woman across said she had gotten the Big Fat Alaskan Sushi Burrito with salmon and avocado and she really enjoyed it. Like me, first time eating a sushi burrito. After we finished we made our way to the La Donut truck for dessert. We split a glazed donut with coffee ice cream and Nutter-Butter cookies on it. The nice woman on the truck when asked said they make their donuts fresh daily and it was a big hit. I would highly recommend coming here and getting out of your comfort zone of being enclosed in four walls to eat good food.

Yayyyyy Food truck Saturday is here again. The Deli Doctor, Pinch of flavors, Oaxaca on wheels just…read moreto name a few. Great flavors, all ethnicity. Love it. Bring your jackets and warm hat because it's freezing out here. I could go in my truck but that's no fun, just the smell of all the different flavors of food cooking, is worth sitting outside freezing your butt off. Every week they rotate trucks, if you want to know whether or not your favorite truck will be out here, just follow them on Instagram. Most of them do accept credit cards but, bring cash just in case. Bring your doggies, there's treats and water for them too. Lol (where do you find that but in Santa Clarita) Lol Food truck prices $10-$15 a plate pretty reasonable. Stop by on Saturdays, you won't be disappointed.
