    Pupusas $2.75/each (pork one opened)
    Dean C.

I drive often between SF and LA, and I stop by at this place a lot--which tells you how much I like it! It's like a mirage in the middle of endless lands of dirt and fast food... could it be?--something worth eating along the 350mi drive (besides the fancy Harris Ranch)??? Also, for all the track folks--this is at Buttonwillow!!! Unfortunately I discovered this place after I've taken a break from going to the track--but this would be such a great place to go after a long morning of lapping! What I got this time: 1. Pupusa--one pork and one bean and cheese. $2.75 each. First off, I'm not Mexican so I do not know what these things are suppose to taste like, so I can't compare. But the pork one tasted great to me. There's a good roasted corn taste to the shell, and the insides are nice and savory, with the right amount of grease. I didn't like the bean and cheese one too much--I dunno why, but the stuffing tasted slightly sour to me. I think it's the cheese. I didn't finish that one. But the pork one was great! 4/5. 2. Taco (carne asada) $1.50. Just a simple taco with 2 small corn shells and the asada stuffing, which was nicely grilled and seasoned, with the right amount of grease. I like. 5/5. So, if you're looking for a break from all the awful food along the 5, this will be your haven! 4/5. #Mexican #truck

Tacos de pescado (fish) and lengua (cow tongue)!
    Renee R.

This taco truck to me is better than most and it's pretty affordable. Each taco is 1.75 and I tried the lengua and fish taco. The lengua was tasty and was filled with tender meat and spiced well. The fish taco was alright. I wouldn't buy it again because the texture is more like chicharon (pork skin) and crumbly. I prefer my fish tacos to be more flesh like and not crunchy like chicharon, but even then it was still good. I also ordered a papusa and that one had chicharon in it and it was better and fresher than the papusa place across the way in the other truck. Overall, if I had to choose my lunch and lived in Buttonwillow, I'd go here over Tita's.

Tacos & burritos were delicious and good size

Delicious!!!, fast and friendly! so happy we saw it. We had a burrito, tacos de asada and chorizo, tamales and mango and everything was amazing! Just like your grandma's food :) Dog friendly Very good prices Close to motel 6 and Arco gas station

If you're on the i-5 and feeling hungry but also need to get gas, Stop here. Like all the other review you won't regret getting food here. The tacos were amazing and really good. I ashtrays stop here to get food and on the way get gas too. A much better option than McDonald or taco Bell that is nearby. You won't regret it.

Such a great place, reasonably priced, fast, and delicious! Had the torta carne asada and carnitas burrito! If your heading up north you gotta check it out!

Don't be turned off by the taco truck ambiance. Outstanding super burritos and quick in and out from the freeway.

I was prepared for "similar to Mexican, yet different". The grilled beef steak(like carne asada) with oiled rice and salad was served with a small side plate of round thick tortilla -like bread. Sort of like a pupusa without a filling. I can tell there was corn meal in it. I ordered the hibiscus tea. It was tasty and refreshing. One of my dining companions ordered a dish that was as somewhat similar to a chile relleno, only filled with ground beef and without cheese. It was tasty and savory, but had no heat, no chiles. It was a little awkward for me, because had no expectations of what to expect. The meat was a little salty, and tasted good. The serving portions were of good size. I do like the heat of Mexican food, so I was a little disappointed the El Salvadoran food isn't. Next time, illstick to the pupusas. Service was attentive.

We tried 6 different pupusas (the best, chicken, pork, jalapeño, garlic, and zucchini), a side order of rice and beans, and two drinks (Jamaica and Ensalada). We loved it all, but our favorite was the chicken, garlic, and jalapeño! We loved it so much... we came back on Sunday with everyone else. The food was fresh and tasty, it came out quick, and they were very attentive.

Based off the recommendation of a friend, my mom and I came to grab some pupusas at Las Comadres…read more It was easy finding parking in the street upon arrival! When we walked in, we were greeted kindly by the staff in the restaurant. My mom and I admittedly did our research prior and knew what we wanted to order. The gentleman at the front was very kind and helpful whilst taking our order. We took a seat and we were brought some chips and salsa! The salsa was very flavorful and had a slight kick. After a few minutes, our food arrived. We dug in! Everything was sooo delicious. The pupusa had a perfect ratio of everything with the filling and the curtido went perfectly. The side of rice and beans were cooked great and were very yummy. My mom and I tried the plantains and were pleasantly surprised. We weren't surprised they were cooked well but rather that the plantains themselves seemed to be at the perfect state of ripeness too! Overall we had a really pleasant experience at Las Comadres. Admittedly one fault is my mom and I had some acid reflux which we think was due to the curtido. I rarely get acid reflux so it was a surprise. Since we deduced the cause, it doesn't deter us from eating some yummy food here again!
