My boyfriend and I were able to rent the fat scooters here yesterday for an hour. They had a short safety course that took about 10 minutes and then they rode us out to the strand to make sure we were comfortable(which I really appreciated). Four of us went to Ride Oceanside electric scooters yesterday. It took us over half an hour to fill out the required paperwork. Then another 10+ minutes for the training course. We were surprised there was insurance option to cover damage as is common when you rent a car or boat. If there is a scratch or damage you just have to pay out of your deposit. The big tire scooters were fun but clumsy to turn. Around the harbor was good but riding along the beach was weird because only the access at the North end was allowed by Ride Oceanside. This meant we had to ride illegally against one way traffic for a good stretch since really no bike lane. The manager was rude and we almost canceled before we got going based on his remarks. read more

Crystal and Teddy( the owners) of this shop are great! After countless hours reviewing E bikes online and at other local shops with little to no customer service I walked into their shop to find two of the friendliest and helpful people in the electric bike business. Not only did they take me on a test ride they explained the pro's and cons of different e bike features and pointed out that they only carry brands with a reputation for customer service and good warranties. After helping me make a decision they did not have the color and options I wanted in stock. I told them I really didn't want to wait for an ordered bike and wanted to call around to other EBC dealers in So-Cal to find one ready to go. They completely understood and wished me the best of luck finding what I wanted. I did find one at another shop, but after talking with a very rude owner that found out he had what I was looking for he added a $200 over retail fee for as he put it not having to wait. I was so put off by his attitude not to mention the 4 hours of driving to go there and back I decided to spend my money at Ride Oside. Not only did they order me the exact bike I wanted they only asked for 70% down until it arrived. They were extremely helpful and I was glad to support a local shop run by such caring and friendly people. Our family of 6 rented these awesome fat tire electric scooters for two hours and had a total blast. We had two single scooters and two double rider scooters. SOOO MUCH FUN!!! In all honesty, I wasn't sure if I'd like these scooters or not. I had friends in town from Texas and the 16 yr old wanted to rent scooters. I live in Carlsbad so this was close and convenient. We only rented for 1 hour, just to be sure it was fun and worth it. Well it was more than worth it. There were 4 of us, my friend, her 16 yr old and me and my 12 yr old son. My son and I rode on a 2 seater, they rode on their own. The scooters were super easy to ride and very stable. We could have easily rode for 2-3 hrs. 1 hour seemed to go way too fast. My 12 yr old was not excited, since he couldn't drive his own but in the end he said he had a blast and would do it again. I totally feel the same way. The owners were also very friendly and helpful. All around good people! Next time I'll rent for 2-3 hours so we can explore more area.
