Customer support is practically nonexistent. An expensive wheelchair began to fall into disrepair within months, the wheels are so flimsy that it's become a hazard. They have argued with me repeatedly throughout the process, and they told me to contact the manufacturer, who has neither responded to emails nor phone calls. Peter and his entire staff, especially Darnell and Jonathan (and my apologies to anyone I missed), are absolutely fantastic. I had surgery about a year ago, and over the past year I've probably stopped into Mobility City a dozen times and asked a million questions. Every single time, Peter and his team were kind, courteous, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. As I got stronger and new scooter models became available, I kept coming back to Mobility City to check them out and, honestly, to bend Peter's ear. I was trying to find a scooter that was lightweight, portable, sturdy, and something I could possibly lift into my truck. Unfortunately, my arms still aren't strong enough to lift even the lightest 30-lb scooters without help. Peter took the time to walk me through all the latest scooter options, as well as lifts, hoists, trailer hoists, and other solutions. He even had me pull up my vehicle so he could show me how some lightweight scooters could be rolled or lifted into a car, and he helped me try using a ramp into the back of my truck. That level of hands-on help made a huge difference. In the end, I settled on the WHILL Model R 4-wheel scooter along with a Bruno Joey lift, and so far it has exceeded my expectations. The deciding factors were that I work on a university campus, I can't lift even the lightest scooters on my own, it needed to fit on the Bruno lift installed in my van, and bonus it rides great and looks pretty cool. Darnell was knowledgeable and so patient with every chair my husband wanted to try. Darnell showed him the Jazzy Ultra Light and that was it. We used them to rent a scooter last year for Comic con. I only sometimes need a scooter if mainly going to big events, zoo, etc , not really for daily life. I broke my ankle a few years ago along with a few tendons and after standing / walking for a while my foot starts to swell up and really hurt. Anyway, they were fantastic!! I feel like they completely took advantage of my situation and me by charging me $250 for a replacement battery charger. The charger is sold online at various places for $40 or less. This is truly predatory especially for a store that specializes in mobility devices for the disabled. They've only been open 3 months & everything's sparkling new. You know that hack of popping tennis balls on the walker legs? Forget about it. They sell these cool mini skis. Now you can glide across the rug. The large floor space has rows of wheelchairs, walkers, loungers, a brilliantly designed bed, and what every mobility store needs, a racing track painted on the floor. But wait, there's more! Even if you don't need wheelchairs you'll want to check out the souped up oversized motorized scooter/golf cart/road warrior chopper. Trust me, you'll want one. On Friday afternoon at about 15 minutes before closing, I thought I would just stop by to see if they had the power wheelchair style I had researched online so that I could see it in person (I had a manual wheelchair before, but frequent travel was making it harder to continue). Peter and his team were beyond helpful. Not only did they have the chair, they already had it set up to accommodate the wider seat, and I was able to drive it around the test track in the store. Though I wasn't planning to buy a wheelchair that day (I thought I would have to order it and come back days or weeks later), I was able to leave the store with my new chair, set to my specifications in about half an hour. I apologize for keeping them late, but Peter was very gracious. The team ensured I was happy with my purchase and that all my questions were answered before I left.
