As a very first-time learner I was taking a training course of 2 lessons for $425 that is supposed to be for beginners in San Bernadino however the group i was in i was the only beginner everyone else was there for the license or to get a lower rate insurance and the pace of the course lesson is led by the rate the majority of the class is moving so i was always behind since everyone else already knew what they were doing and moving at a fast pace through the lessons they would expect you to get the hang of it quick I kept stalling my bike and asked for help to know what it is I am doing wrong instead of being helped I'm told to move to the side so I did and just watch a everyone else was going through the drill lesson I was eventually told to get back in the formation without helping me about the stalling I was having after stalling several more times I was rudely told what I was doing wrong I did not get any tips or advice on my riding or helped on the shifting even though I asked several times I was just told to keep moving it seemed they only want to keep you moving and don't care if you are performing the drill correct like shifting, downshifting, stopping, staying in the lane etc. My scheduled lesson was from 7am to 4pm but after booking the course lessons i was sent an email that the end time is approximate i attempted to get a refund and was told they give no refunds for any reason when so i went to my course lesson i was leaving at 4 but lessons where still going on but i had to go to work i was told if i left they would put me down as i voluntarily dropped out of the course lesson and will get not credit after speaking to someone about this i was told i had to retake the course for a $125 fee but my spot in the course lesson will not be guaranteed. You should separate the actual beginners from others who just want a license or lower insurance rate and already know how to ride since beginners will not be able to keep up with the pace, I should have also been told the end time is approximate before buying the lessons not after and should have gotten a refund some people have plans for the day or have a tight schedule, Instructors should actually be giving advice on how you are riding what they can improve or what they are doing wrong and help when being asked for it not ignored or just told to keep moving to the pace of the others. I've had my bike for 3 years now and I had been too intimidated to even try to learn to ride it. I have never ridden a motorcycle, dirt bike, quad, not even a manual car. Every time I got on the bike I would shake uncontrollably, anxiety through the roof, and eventually just cry in defeat. I called to get information about the course and spoke with Amy. She was so encouraging and uplifting and gave me the push I needed to sign up. On the first day of the class, I was super nervous. The first half of the day is in the classroom and the second half is on the bike. My instructors were Tom and Vince. They were both awesome! They were very knowledgeable and patient. They would give advice and tips on anything they saw me struggle with. I passed the course and now just need to take my written at the DMV! I have practiced on my own bike (ninja 400) and I don't shake anymore! :) I am super excited to keep learning and improving! This 2 day course was amazing! I highly, highly recommend for new riders, or even experienced ones. I've been riding for 3 months on back roads and in the mountains on my TW 200, but I learned great skills like sharp turns, clutch work, emergency stops, etc. Ian and Kristi were very skilled, strict, and safe instructors. On sunday I completed my 2 day motorcyclist training course. Saturday was the first day of my safe riding days, I was tired by the end of day one and exhausted at the end of day 2. But so Happy and Proud of myself for accomplishing this course. Classroom time was very informative. I took the IRC class today at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium thinking it was going to be a real intermediate class riding course and it was more like a joke. A good suggestion would be if you have some experience in riding it is not worth taking at all, you are better off just saving your money and going to the DMV to take the tests. As far as the instructors go, Bob was awesome and more consistent than Josh unfortunately i got stuck with Josh when they separated us into two groups but i survived and passed. I did the training through the Lake Elsinore location. I wasn't sure if I would be the only girl but was surprised to see three others. There were a variety of ages and experience as well. The atmosphere of the training felt comfortable for any age, gender, or experience. If you're nervous about "feeling stupid", you won't feel that way if you choose Ride Rite. Dan taught our classroom training and was excellent. He had a great sense of humor combined with experience and useful tips. He made the time go by fast! We learned everything we needed to learn before taking our new knowledge to the range. The first day we had Bo and JJ as our range instructors. The second day we had Bo and Adrienne. All three were fantastic and really good at providing a combo of useful feedback and encouragement. By the end of the training I felt significantly more confident. I took the 2 day beginner course and felt that it was worth every penny. The classroom portions were engaging and informative, and my instructor Adrian was a real treat. Our whole class passed the written portion, if that's any testament to Adrian's teaching methods. Range time was great. Kristy, Christi and George were our range instructors. They gave positive feedback and coaching at all times. They helped alleviate our fears and concerns and gave us confidence as the hours rolled by on the bikes. Just some tips. Bring lots of water, wear sunscreen, bring snacks. You'll be outdoors for several hours, the temperature, sun and maneuvering the bikes will wear you out. Keep hydrated and energized to maximize your learning potential. Also, the bikes are quite janky. They've been dropped a lot so they all have their little quirks. My bike wouldn't shift into neutral unless the bike was off. There was a silver Honda that wouldn't shift into second unless you pulled on it with the fury of God. Just be patient and learn your bike and you'll be ok. read more

I booked my class for a weekend. It rained the week before my class. I received a call from Ride-Rite asking if my class could be pushed to the next weekend due to the rain students getting washed out. The phone op was going to send me a follow up email with all the new info. Fine. Nothing came. Days pass and I still hadn't heard anything from Ride-Rite. Fast forward to the day before my class. I call up ride-rite and they indicate that they have no record of the event and they would have to push me to a later date. I demand a refund and have to verbally argue with the phone op whom I was very polite to. A very poorly run company. I recommend you take your business elsewhere. As a cyclist that has been cycle commuting for years I wanted to have another option for when I didnt want peddle power, so I decided to look into motorcycles. A friend recomended for me to start by taking the ride rite class and I'm glad I did. There is a class room portion, and 2 hands on course work, and I enjoyed all three. I would say the second hands on was far more fun. The motorcycles you learn on are simple 125cc, So there is no reason to be intimidated. I would say this is a great way to start a passion for motorcycles. Or just learn something different. the riding coaches are nice with a good attitude and understanding. This review is from years ago, circa 2006 perhaps. I took this class with my mother because she didn't want to do it alone. Breezed through the classroom portion. When it came time to do the on-bike training my mother and I were the only non-licensed riders. Everyone else was just there to earn a certificate to lower their insurance. The first day class ended almost an hour early. The second day they finished instruction about half an hour early to move onto the testing portion. I failed the test because I was not able to maneuver properly. I feel like as instructors they should not be cutting the classes short just because the majority are experienced riders. Or they could have released the experienced riders and worked more closely with the new riders. I was never given extra instruction, nor tips on what I was doing wrong or any indication that I was not picking up their lessons. Again, I feel the instructors lacked. They should mold their teachings to the needs of their students and not just provide cookie cutter, one size fits all instructions. They offered another class, but when I showed up I couldn't find anyone. They gave an address with no further instruction. Didn't specify where we should go or how to get in (Corona PD). I didn't think it'd be hard to find a group of people and a bunch of motorcycles. I finally gave up and never pursued riding again. read more

Took my class at the new location in Corona last weekend. Six stars for instructor Bob (classroom & range), aka S.O.B. (sweet ole bubba) for bringing donuts and entertainment to the classroom; 5-stars for the rest of the crew- George (range), Dan (classroom), Christie (range), and Greg (range). They are so encouraging, supportive, and patient. Corona location is nice, very clean. There's a cafe onsite selling food & drinks, and many other places to eat within a 1/2-mile. Bring plenty of water, esp if the outdoors is warm. It's amazing how dehydrated and exhausted you get from riding under the sun. You get many breaks throughout the day and at least a one-hour lunch. They definitely want everyone to pass. There were at least 3 students that put their foot down during the eval, and one that dropped his bike, but all 11 of us passed! Be open-minded, be vocal, ask questions, and enjoy the experience! The only thing i didn't like was going home and not having a bike to ride of my own **Although you have to wait 7-10 days to get the official yellow certificate in the mail, i recommend going to the dmv for the written M1 exam as soon as possible while everything is fresh in your brain. So much of what is covered in class is EXACTLY what you'll be tested on.. verbatim. I completed my 2-day course on a saturday, went to dmv the following monday, and rcvd my cert in the mail that friday. I now have to make a 2nd trip back to dmv to turn in my certificate and make it 100% legit. *NOTE: If you're under 21 you will not be allowed to take the written exam until you bring in that certificate! Also, you'll have to take an 18-question class-c written exam if it's been more than a year since the last time. Don't stress, it's common sense driving. read more

Firstly, I'd like to say that the instruction I received in the classroom and on the range was excellent. The central reason for my dissatisfaction is as follows: I signed up to take the course on June 7. First day of class, after the classroom session I head to the range. The second riding coach never showed, so my friend and I were sent home (this is after driving from Pasadena to Riverside). It was hard enough to make these two days fit my schedule, but having to reschedule brought a new level of frustration. After speaking with the secretary, I was "rescheduled" for June 10. A few days before that I was told that I was again bumped to July 2. The lack of professionalism was truly unbelievable. No apologies whatsoever, poor communication, and whoever sends and receives emails for the company seems to have no idea what's going on. I'm grateful for the knowledge I gained, but the company itself is very poorly run. It was easily one of the worst businesses I've ever had to work with, and I would give it zero stars if I could. This is my first Yelp review, created especially for this highly irritating experience in order to warn future customers. This has been my first foray into motorcycling, I was very intimidated about riding and honestly I never had the intention of ever riding a motorcycle until a few months ago, thanks COVID! So I found these guys online and I booked the first available class. Day 1 is going over some things in class to prepare you for your first day of riding. The instructor, Bernadette was amazing and did a great job of explaining everything and kept it engaging! Day 2 is your first day on a bike, well at least for me it was but they did a superb job of easing into the experience little by little. Half way through the day I started feeling great and my confidence picked up tremendously! By the end of the day things progress more and more to help you gain more confidence and understanding how everything ties together. You'll learn the phrase SPAT a lot! Speed, Position, Aim, Turn - It'll be your new mantra! Later that evening they go over what you learned and dive into getting you on your way to getting your endorsement. Pay attention to everything they tell you, it'll help for your written test the next day. Day 3 is more building on top of what they taught you on Day 2 and it starts to get really challenging but fun! They will evaluate each rider and calculate a score for a pass or fail. Thankfully I passed and everyone I talked to there did as well! After taking this course am I ready to ride out on Ortega Highway or venture off to Sturges? Nope! But that's not the point of this class. It's meant to get you your endorsement so you can hone your skills further, legally. The day started with an introduction to Doc. he did an excellent job controlling the group as well as putting the curriculum into words we could understand. Where o where do I begin...I took my class this weekend in Van Nuys. It was everything I could have hoped for. The instructors kicked ass. Class was extremely beneficial and I would recommend it to anyone contemplating taking the course. Whether you are a beginner, just starting out, or been riding 'Dirty' and looking to get legal; You will learn something. You truly feel that the instructors want you to learn. They want you to be as safe and as knowledgeable as possible before finishing. Everyone in my class passed and we all agreed that we felt more confident going home then we did when we first got there. Stop thinking about it, just sign up and take the class. You will be glad you did when you pass and they hand you your CMSP Completion Card. ***fyi...They mail your completion certificate for the DMV, so don't schedule your M1 appt too soon after. You will need a week or so after class to receive the certificate or you will end up going to DMV twice*** Update 4/19: Completed class on 4/10. Received completion certificate in mail 4/18.
