I seen a Ranger 1000XP Crew on Marketplace. I messaged the guy and turns out it was a listing from Rideworks. I called early on Sunday to see if they were gonna be open on Memorial day and got no answer or info on hours but got a call back on that morning, saying the machine I was looking at was available but they had a ton of interest and since I was over 100 miles away, he suggested I give him $1000 deposit, which he would refund if I decided I didnt want the Ranger. We went to look at it first thing tuesday morning, they assured me 3 times that they do a 118 point inspection, change oil and all fluids, and it was "trail ready". We found 12 items that needed repair, plus the skid plate was full of mud. They told us they dont remove the skid plate. We wondered how they checked the driveline and midshift bearings and greased them without seeing them. Other items that needed attention were a wheel bearing, lower ball joint, an upper ball joint, control arm bushing, cv joint boot cut, tie rod boot cut, among a few other minor things. He didnt let us drive it but did chauffer us around their back yard for a 3 minute ride. I asked for some kind of discount so he offered $499.00 off which turned out to be 2 of the junk fees they charge. I bought it, brought it home, worked on it for half a day, went north to ride the next day. After 4 hours of extreme dust, chasing 3 motorcycles, the engine started cutting out at 5000 rpm and ran normal at 3000 rpms. Kept getting worse so ended the ride and rode back to camp, at 18 mph top speed. Took the tube off the throttle body and it was CAKED WITH MUD!! checked the filter box and found out THERE WAS NO AIR FILTER!!! So much for their 118 point inspection. After cleaning things up, installing a new $85.00 air filter, it ran great.... for 3 hours. It started cutting out again, the same as the day before. Had other issues. After quite a bit of investigating, turns out it needed a fuel pump, at a cost of $280.00. I would not recommend Rideworks to my worst enemy. All we ran into the entire relationship was lies, scams, deceit and shoddy workmanship! read more

Save yourself and Bank (If necessary) time and take your money elsewhere. their deposit procedure is $1,000.00 Non-refundable. Who in their right mind would do that?
