There are quite a few memorable holes including 16 and 18. The course is in excellent condition and very close to private course conditions, if you didn't know it was public you may not notice. They just added a new clubhouse which was desperately needed and it is very nice. The course was windy and it is very hilly and seems to be shaped with the natural contours of the land. It is very playable and if you drive well you can score. The greens aren't overly undulating but some of the pubs can be tough to get too. It is very accessible to eastern Pennsylvania and closer then many courses I play in the area. I look forward to getting to know the course better and yesterday I pared the 18th hole which made me very happy , last time 18 won!

The staff was very accommodating, consistently taking plates, refilling water pitchers, cleaning up throughout the day. The food we had for lunch was excellent! Chicken parm and baked ziti had a great red sauce and the lemon chicken was also tender and tasted great. The dinner rolls practically melted in my mouth! My group had about 150 people in attendance and everyone fit in the room well and we weren't stacked on top of each other! It was really a great experience and I hope my company comes back to this club for future events!

Stonybrook is a firm "meh." Its fine, in that you will probably come away feeling a little better…read moreabout your game because of the amount of par 3's on this course, but it has a good amount of flaws. First, I have yet to play there (4th time was yesterday) and it NOT be a muddy mess on the first couple of holes. Its like a swamp to the right of the 1st and to the right and behind the 2nd....like marsh land. Second, the grass isn't really cut as close as it should be. I'm no pro, but I have evolved to the point in my game that I can play a round with 2-3 balls. At Stonybrook, I was losing balls left and right on shots that were literally a foot, 2 feet off of the fairway. The grass is so high (and usually muddy) that it just swallows everything except PERFECT fairway shots. The greens aren't terrible, but certainly aren't great, and the same goes for the tee boxes. Despite all of this, its not a BAD day of golf. The clientele are usually weekend hackers or seniors or people learning, so its not snooty or pretentious, and the day moves pretty fast because there are mostly par 3's. Some people complain about the train that goes by (and it goes by a lot. I think 3 times while we were there), but I found the sound to actually charge me up for my drives! I would recommend Stonybrook, as long as you go into it with your expectations FIRMLY on the ground. Find it on golfnow for a reasonable price.

It's not a terrible course…read more But here is the thing, in the spring we received an email from their management company, saying that they had parted ways with the family owning the place, but that the Golf Course WOULD indeed be open for the 2019 season. It never opened and in spite of numerous inquiries to anyone I could think of that might have some knowledge, no one seems to know,( some inquiries went unanswered) My husband and I have begun to golf elsewhere but I would still love to know what is going on. Pristine Greens and fairways throughout the course and had a lot of fun on the challenging putts. Each hole had its character in design with fairways That could play easy for a par game but challenge you when you try to go under par. and the greens challenge your skill of placing the ball as close to the pin as possible otherwise you may have some very difficult slopes and dens when reading the greens. I would expect nothing less from a private course in Princeton with a great design and a layout of the environment that has a lot of breathtaking water hazards natural structures. Even from the bunker, the course is a lot of fun and I'm glad I got a chance to play it. I was invited out through work to assist them with their annual birdies for the brave golf outing charity events and was fortunate enough that they had an opening and allowed for me to play with a few of the Marines. The pace of the outing was excellent giving us plenty of time to chat between the holes and get to know each other as well as drive around the golf carts which have a great GPS network in them. Right as you pull up, they have the bag drop to grab your golf cart as well as a driving range, putting green and practice bunkers to get a few chips in before you head on out. I don't think I've ever played on greens as fast as them, even though it had rained the night before I got to play and the greens were still quite fast. Despite a heavy down for the day before the course conditions were excellent with very little areas that retained any heavy amounts of water. Driving through the course was quite a delight! The staff was very friendly and amazing with their speed of service and quality of food and drinks. I was especially thankful to the staff that allowed me to go out and play. The locker rooms were very clean and accommodating which is great coming from a day of work into a day of golf going into an evening with dinner. And the mansion is just an amazing view I can certainly understand why so many people chosen this course has the place for their wedding. Top-notch dining area, entryway and cocktail area. Photos for this property would make everything worthwhile!

They never asked her for an email to send a confirmation to so we assumed we did not need one since we spoke to an actual person to make the reservation. On the day of the round, we got a little lost getting there since the road leading up to the course was closed off. (With GPS.) So we called the pro shop and the woman who answered was extremely rude saying "I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. DONT YOU HAVE GPS?" So we just had to figure out a way to go around back roads to get to the course ourselves. Then when we arrive, this same woman snapped at my mother saying we don't have a reservation. Whoever took the reservation over the phone clearly did not put us in the system nor tell us that we needed to go online. It felt as though this woman treated my mother poorly because my mom has a thick Asian accent and a little difficult to understand. So she was short and impatient instead of kind and helpful. For this alone, we will never return. As for the course, it was in okay shape. The greens are tiny and slow. Tee boxes are in rough shape. The holes are on top of each other so we kept having other groups in our fairway hitting their ball back on to their own fairways. There was no snack/bar cart, literally no offerings. It's not a $70 course by any means. It's a $40 course at best.
