Also the owner is very rude. Apparently he feels it's ok to yell at customers if you are standing in front of his door. I was embarrassed and upset. Not only were a couple of booths literally just actual trash, while I was standing there wanting to potentially buy something in a case, he and another person started loudly complaining about Democrats "stealing their money" and "giving it to *other* people." I've suspected the owner was probably conservative before that, but never cared to confirm it. Today's tirade, though, is something I can't overlook. I was extremely uncomfortable with the hostility. So I left, and won't be back. I'm sure some conservatives may get a kick out of this, but shouldn't they be wanting a liberal to buy an American flag? I won't be back. Even if this has been an anti-conservative tirade, I would have been put off. I was there to destress from the political dumpster fire we're in, not to be subject to political b*tching so loud so suddenly that it's hard to imagine it wasn't on purpose. I'm done with them. The decline in item quality was already enough. This sealed it.

Plenty of street parking around - tip, if you go to 11th and C there is plenty of pay-to-park spaces. Inside you will find yourself on the main, top floor. It is extremely clean and well kept inside. The booths are well-appointed and well stocked. So many good finds. Downstairs are more booths and more awesome finds. Great upgrade for the shop and its vendors! Didn't find anything this time around but will check back again soon!

Grocery items all seemed to be of questionable origin, freshness, and quality, and their prices didn't really seem to be any lower on most of them than what one would find at a conventional grocery store. I was amused by the "hardware" section. The tools were of laughably poor quality (far worse than Harbor Freight fare), and the prices were far too high for their (complete lack of) quality. Their apparel section has among the strangest fashions I've ever seen, and I suspect that none of them will actually ever sell. One curiosity, though, was a selection of rugs. If you're in Vancouver, and need a rug, this may be worth a visit.

The hand-selected articles of clothing, hats, jewelry and accessories available here are certainly quirky, but also fashionable and functional. Whomever curates the collection here has an eye for the theatrical and flamboyant; many of the items here could easily double as Halloween costume components. There's no shortage of vintage clothing stores in the Portland metro area, but many of them charge truly outrageous prices for scraps and rags that only the most unaffected urchin would be caught dead wearing. Thankfully, that's not the case here: there's something for everyone, from casual to formal, grounded to glamorous, simple to sophisticated. Prices range from reasonable to unbelievably cheap (they even have a $1 rack with clothes that don't suck?! how), making the Urban Eccentric a budget-friendly bargain hunter's dream.
