they, (Josh)told me what was not true.On an inspection of my roof,Gabe told me that the roof had maybe 5year of service left.. I hired them subsequently to clean the roof. They did that for a good price (my bad), just after that we had a good wind and 6-7 shingles blew off.. I called Josh and he was very unresponsive having me wait a week for a return visit and inspection. On Jan 7 Josh told via phone that they sent me an email telling me the roof was failing..I got no such email and went to their office and ask Josh to show it to me..He could not and he admitted that there was not and they made a mistake. I will never do business with them again, a big waste of my money. read more

Get another bid. These people charged me $10,665 for a 989 sq ft re-roof. They had me in a jam because it took them 2.5 months to execute the roof repair on my rental. Meanwhile my renter was having recurrent leakage into her furnace and couldn't turn on her heat. I didn't want to risk losing an excellent renter and moved forward with these folks because they performed an emergency tarping of the leak. They said they would repair one month after the emergency tarping but they didn't show up; no show, no call, no apology. I felt like jumping ship to a different roofer, but they had already tarped for me and come to the rental twice for that purpose. Finally, 2.5 months after the initial leak, they came out to the house and told me the repair would cost $2100, but that there were significant other problems with the entire roof (true). They said I should redo it (although they didn't give me a price at the time). I should never have agreed to have it done until they had given me a bid beforehand. They knew they had me by the "short hairs" and ended up overcharging me. Does anyone charge $10/square foot to re-roof? The pitch of the roof was low (I stood on it many times) and access to the house was easy. Degree of difficulty was low, so no, there was no reason to charge more beyond plain greed. Good thing for me that my insurance paid the bill, or I would be livid. However, I would NEVER use these people again. You shouldn't either. read more

I recently had Ridgeline Roofing install a metal roof on my cabin in Guerneville. After getting an estimate from another company that seemed a little high I called Sam and Gabe and the estimate from them was really reasonable. The install went great and they informed me that my skylight I had existing was for a flat roof not a pitched. Sam said he had one in his shop and gave it to me no charge. I used Ridgeline Roofing to re-roof a house that I recently purchased. Peggy and Sam were very friendly and professional. They made time in their busy schedules to do an estimate and commit to a date for roofing that would correspond with the electrician's and other's schedules. They were very helpful in accommodating my need to add an insulation layer on the roof even though it was not in the original scope of work. All of the staff were very skilled and friendly. I first called ridgeline when my roof was leaking. I had a friend refer them and Greg was great. He came out immediately, did the repair in crummy weather. I was told that the repair would solve THAT problem, but informed that the cheap shingles that the previous owner installed were going to be needing replacing in the next few years. 18 months later second leak in another area appeared. I called again, this time prepared to do the entire roof. Peggy and Greg worked with me so I was able to afford a 40 yr roof. The job was done quickly and it looks great!. Last year I contacted them about changing / upgrading the roof on an outbuilding. I appreciated the candidness from Ridgeline in talking me OUT of the project I was wanting. They could've had the sale, but were honest enough with expert advise on the structure. 4 years later, I have a second home and need a new roof. Took three calls and an email before someone got back to me, with the explanation "I was too busy to call you back." Yikes. Got a vauge 'Thrusday or Friday' next week response for scheduling and further verbal commitment to 'touch bases next week' with appointment details before being rushed into closing the conversation. No call. No email. No show. Being busy is good, yes. Admitting 'we are too booked up to see you next week' is fine. Simply being blown off is not. Moving on to greener fields. read more

Ridgeline did work on my son's house in Kitchener. It's an older home built around 1920 and was in desperate need of tlc. The quote was high but a lot of work needed done. First off, it took forever for them to start missing start date after start date. The workmanship is poor with shortcuts taken everywhere to save material and labour costs. A piece of trim at the top front is actually two different colours, aluminium that's already coming away and it's only been months, eavestroughing that he decided didn't need elbowed to the building from 2nd floor to 1st floor and stuck out like wings. He has come back for this but did a very poor job of fixing it, totally destroyed original gingerbreading that my son wanted removed and saved. I could go on and on about not returning calls, etc. read more

Had this company come out to give me an estimate on two different homes on 8/31/16. First house has a small leak. Was impressed how quickly the estimator found the cause of the leak. Asked him to check the rest of the roof and he found a couple small items and also mentioned that one skylight needed replacement. He gave me two skylight options. Went to the second house & he checked it and found nothing wrong with it. I thanked him for his time and told him I looked forward to getting the estimate so I could resolve any roof issues. After one week, no estimate. I called him 3 or 4 times and left a message with NO response from him. Called and spoke with the owner of the company and she assured me I would get an estimate. No estimate. Called her another time. She apologized to me and promised I would get an estimate. Four weeks later; no estimate! Why waste my time if you are not going to follow-up? Really counter-productive business practices in so many ways. Maybe they are knowledgeable about roofs; but they haven't a clue on good business practices. read more

We have done a few projects with Ridgeline. Their prices seem reasonable and their employees are awesome. With little warning, they came out in the rain and patched a problematic roof issue. They were patient and flexible with us as we were in the process of a remodel. The ONLY reason there aren't 5 stars is that it took a little bit to get the initial quote. My sister needed a new roof quick! Not only was Ridgeline the only company out of 7 to actually provide a quote but they did a great job! Actually Duvall Roofing said to call Ridgeline because they were booked up for year. One other company did a "drive by" quote but that was it. My sister really, really liked the crew and is very happy with the work done. Peggy is phenomenal! We were under the gun for getting it done and Peggy was able to work magic moving the schedule up to meet the deadline. Unfortunately there was extra work needed but we still met the drop dead date. Compounding matters was the fact that I live a couple hours away and had to transfer funds to pay for the new roof. Ridgeline was very accommodating, allowing for a few days payment delay. Needed new gutters, since ours were 45 years old. Not only did they do a fantastic job with the gutters but noticed a problem with my roof which could have cost me dearly this winter. The crew showed up as scheduled, did the job and cleaned up after themselves. I will certainly use them when I need a new roof in the future. I write about this because two other companies which I had requested bids never followed-up, as promised. If they can't get you a bid before the job how would you ever get them back after the job if there was a problem. Ridgeline reroofed my house 10 years ago and did an excellent job. I have since had zero issues with it and the composition shingles seem to be holding up well. I recently contacted them about replacing a dry-rotted corbel timber at the front of the house. The only reason for not giving 5 stars had to do with the wait time for the job to be started and that was partly due to trying to find a match for our existing (old) roof (this was a repair). I have used Ridgeline Roofing for my personal residence, a commercial building that I manage, and for new gutters on a rental. I had Ridgeline install a comp roof on my residence a few years ago. They were on time, professional, cleaned up each day, and finished ahead of schedule. They did a fabulous job! I was so impressed with their work on my home, that I recommended using their services for a commercial building that I manage that was in need of a new roof. We looked at foam roofs and an IB thermal blanket roof system and decided to go with the IB thermal roof. This was a big job (over 16,000 sq. ft) which included replacing skylights, and dry rot from the old roof. The entire staff and crew were a joy to work with and did a wonderful job. The owner even sent "Thank You" notes to each of the owners in the building after completion. This is a great company and I highly recommend their services. It's the ONLY roofing company I will ever use. read more

Interesting to read the recent reviews, as my wife and I had a completely opposite experience in terms of customer service and communication. Ridgeline is only receiving one star because I had to provide one for feedback. I anticipated this estimate because the referral came from a respected friend and local contractor, who had used them numerous times. I should have gotten the clue when Sam missed our first appointment and stated that I had "gotten a call to reschedule". (didn't happen). Anyhow, the real oddity happened when he did arrive a few days later. As the other reviews state he was cordial, did get on the roof and made numerous notes and asked questions etc. We talked about my criteria for the estimate (which was provided in a clear, written manner) I was assured the estimate would be to me about 4 days later. Well....... Three weeks later, with numerous calls to Peggy, the congenial office manager, we got nothing but blatant lies and no explanation or estimate. One time she even had the audacity to say Sam was across the room and gave here a hand gesture that he was finalizing the estimate and that it woudl be out soon. (I can only imagine the "hand gesture" he was giving) I am dumfounded as to why he even wasted his time (and mine again) to come out and go through the steps of reviewing the project? All of this is one hundred percent completely UN-professional garbage. They must think that customers time is not very important. I am more inclined to interpret that they think customers that are well-informed and know what they want are simply a hassle (contractor knows best eh?) Even if that is true this company should have the professionalism to simply inform the customer that it isn't the right fit. I wonder if Ownership has any knowledge of the pick and choose method of estimating. Anyhow, my hard earned money will go to someone who cares (reminder Ridgeline that there are numerous roofing companies in the area), and my strong advice to avoid this company, with complete lack of professionalism, will go to anyone looking to get a new roof. read more

After deciding we wanted to get a PV solar system installed on our home we were told we needed a new roof.After collecting several bids we decided to go with Ridgeline. They were great. Professional, consistently returned calls and emails even on weekends. Sam was a great guide and coordinated with the other solar contractors we had to deal with for us to time the roof. It looks great and was installed quickly and with no disruption to our day. Sam even came back and gave us another look over after some work was done after they did their job. As well as told us to give him in call in the future if we needed to do something. We highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Our nine year old roof was in generally good shape, but there were a few areas of dry rot in the chimney siding, covered porch planking and a leak below a window, related to improper flashing installation. The original installer is no longer in business. Over the next few months I learned how difficult it is to find a roofer interested in repair rather than total replacement; several declined outright or charged the price of a complete replacement, and two agreed after an estimate bit then wouldn't respond to calls. Ridgeline was an entirely different experience. Sam provided a thorough inspection and explained in detail about what the repair would involve, and came up with a reasonable bid. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and a good communicator. The work was done on time, and involved some carpentry/siding replacement as well as more typical roofing/flashing repair, and installation of a waterproof membrane on a flat area below a window. The crew did a great job, we're very happy with the results, and feel ready for the upcoming el niño. Thanks to Sam and his great office coordinator Peggy. Ridgeline is highly recommended. read more
