At our initial meeting Jorge was personable and listened carefully. His written bid for a new roof was carefully detailed and covered everything we had discussed. His crew started promptly at 8:00 am each day. Plants were covered and at each day's end they cleaned up thoroughly. Throughout the process they treated our property and ourselves with the utmost respect. Communications were excellent. I was kept informed of any issues that came up and Jorge always responded promptly when I contacted him. When the old roof was removed, some damage was found. In addition to replacing some plywood, they replaced some tongue and groove planks on the inside of a beamed ceiling that had been water damaged. They painted these planks to match before installing, with excellent results. Receipts were provided for the materials and there was no mark-up, which was appreciated. I received six bids for this job. While JC Roofing's wasn't the lowest they were competitive, and I felt very comfortable working with Jorge. I know I made the right choice. Jorge and his crew (Alvino, Miguel, Brandon, and co) were exceptional from the start to finish of our job. Our roof, which is very complicated (18 skylights, 5 chimney stacks, multiple, vents, eaves, gabvles, hog valleys, etc.) required structural repairs, new plywood, replacement of insualtion, ice and rain shield (on a gradual slope) and concrete tiles, and JC provided all with extreme care. Upon completion, the site was better than when they showed up to start. Regarding process and bduget, we issued an RFP to 10 companies, and they responded the most timely, starting and finishing the job on time, and while we expected some t & m adds for additional carpentry, etc. they stuck to our original budget for the original known scope. Called this company, spoke to Jorge, who was very nice. He sent his brother, Alvino, to come out and inspect the leak. Alvino spent almost an hour inspecting the roof and the attic, and took pics. He promised to email me the photos, and said his brother will send me an estimate. That was three weeks ago. I left two phone messages to follow-up, but received no reply. Jorge was fantastic to work with. Prior to working together we walked over the roof together and he showed me all the things that were either done wrong by the previous roofer or that just deteriorated over time and explained me why it will need fixing. Jorge has been delivering everything on the timeline he promised. From showing up the first time, his quote and the completion of the roof. Along the way he found some dry rot in the trims which he also replaced. After being done with the work, he made sure that there is no a single piece of construction garbage laying around. He asked me where I'd like to keep the left over shingles from the job as well. I also like that he shows you the invoice for the material that he purchased, so you know there is no markup on that.
