I returned to Ridgetop Dental for my routine cleaning. Upon entering, I encountered a new male front desk staff member/receptionist who was stationed behind a wall. He immediately turned around, looked directly at me, and then resumed checking out another patient without acknowledging my presence--neither with a "good morning" nor a simple "I'll be right with you." Standing beside the patient was a new Dental Hygienist, who I later learned would be performing my cleaning. She had the presence of mind to acknowledge me, saying, "Sir, he'll be right with you once he finishes checking out this patient." I appreciated being acknowledged and felt seen. After I continued waiting patiently at the front desk, the receptionist completed the transaction with the other patient and turned to ask for my name. Once I confirmed it, he simply said, "You can go sit down." I asked, "I'm checked in?" seeking clarification. Not long after I checked in, a female patient entered, and he greeted her warmly, asked for her name, and told her politely, "Thanks! I have you all checked in." I was later escorted to the back by the new Dental Hygienist, who was extremely friendly and professional. She even took the initiative to confirm that I had taken the antibiotics typically required before my procedures--an indication of genuine concern. This made me feel that she truly had my best interests at heart and was providing excellent customer service. She further demonstrated professionalism by deferring to the doctor, who also came in to speak with me about the matter. One of the factors that influences whether I return to an establishment is the level of customer service--either based on reviews I've read or my own past experiences. Unfortunately, this particular visit felt mediocre overall. The customer service at the front desk/reception area could be improved by ensuring all patients are acknowledged and treated with the same level of courtesy and professionalism. That said, I commend the Dental Hygienist and the treating doctor for their attentiveness, professionalism, and respectful treatment. Should I choose to return, I hope that the front desk staff will consistently demonstrate a courteous and welcoming demeanor toward all patients--not just a select few. read more

Needed to consult with an expert at a center specializing in implants. Consultation would be free of charge. Arrived, led to an office, Diana, the specialist, walks in with a yellow pad and pen. She never asks questions or clarification while I provide a summary of current care and reiterate my interest in what is possible. To answer, she informs me, requires a digital scans (X-rays and a panoramic) for an accurate evaluation and treatment plan. Diana informs us these essentials aren't insurance approved. Unapproved essential, oxymoronic? Maybe. Cost? $380. I agree. Returning after the images are taken, screen showing the last image which was a rendering of the mouth/teeth, she sits nearby. Not facing images, rewinding, discussing, or even examining the mouth. Note: I, the patient, was never shown any image to support the diagnosis and judgement she's about to make, "You are the most difficult, complicated case I have ever seen"- She continues- without referring to (generally done by pointing to an image on screen) or mentioning any possible findings, "..not enough density for implants. My advice, and your only option, is to find an oral surgeon and periodontist to place a horizontal bar inside to hold a removable. I don't work with any." With that, the consultation was over, spent $380 and had no new information. Here are some facts Diana failed to consider or discuss; a) I already had 5 implants with crowns, never an issue for years. b) the same area she claimed lacked bone density had 3 successful implants- 1st over 6 years, and next 2 for 18 months. c) her suggestion for a rod-held removable is at least from lack of attention or at worst from ignorance. Based on reports from dental professionals, a bar-retained removable would need a few implants into the bone for support. Of course existing implants in the area have to be removed first- creating less density. My entire interaction with Diana followed a unique form of deductive reasoning; to communicate an emotional predetermined decision against providing care, whether from lack of competence or distaste for patient, I will know. Anyway, armed with a concept of a suggestion, my goal was stiff upper lip, pay and leave. Emotionally distraught, I walked to the reception, made the $380 charge for scan and requested a receipt. For a simple consult, the 3 people behind the reception had many side discussions about what was done. Assuming the papers they handed as the typical paperwork; list of services rendered, cost, total due plus receipt to reflect zero balance. After returning home, I realized my paperwork was limited to a printed paper with date, my name and total paid. I called the office to request paperwork with appropriate codes, cost and zero balance on account following payment. I also requested a copy of the digital scans. After few hours, I received a single email- scan of one X-ray. No paperwork, no scan, silence. If you are interested in implants, avoid this "center"- I saw hygienist, technicians, receptionists and Diana. Dental chairs were unoccupied except for 2. This place is nothing like Ridgetop in Reston pre-2020. This place gives a warehouse vibe, from parking to suite- with its numerous cubby dental chairs lining a narrow hallway, a large scanner at one end, the receptionist at the other. One thinks of a mass production facility without presence of "expert" knowledge- maybe one comes when a procedure is scheduled? A place run by a person as callous as Diana, making radical conclusions unhindered by annoying facts or deductive reasoning is unsafe. If that isn't enough to deter any interested potential clients, allow me to add how this client felt in her company; I felt almost resented (I wonder if an overheard talk of shared heritage with another irked her) and with each question she dismissed, I felt silenced by a cold glare void of a healer's concern. By the end, cruelty replaced the coldness. May we never cross paths. For most, having implants is a step toward cosmetic perfection, and for others an opportunity to finally solve a decades old problem with new technology. Neither one should ever seek consultation here. We know there are dentists that may not be the best in every area, but I have never met one as aloof, unkind and arrogant as Diana. I can almost bet that if she donned a façade of civil chair-side behavior, the suffocated contempt would explosively bypass awareness ISO the bliss she must associate with crushing hope with alternative facts. read more

My family has been patients of Ridgetop Dental for several years, but over the past two years I have become increasingly concerned about the practice's approach to pricing and treatment recommendations. In my experience, there has been a noticeable shift toward upselling services and a lack of transparency regarding costs. During a recent visit, I was informed after the fact that I would be charged $48 for a fluoride treatment. I had provided my insurance information three days in advance, and I am covered under a Delta Dental Premier Plus plan. I was surprised that this service was not included as part of my preventive care visit and, more importantly, that the additional charge was not disclosed before the treatment was performed. I understand that not all services are covered by insurance, but patients deserve clear communication about any out-of-pocket costs before receiving treatment. Unfortunately, experiences like this have eroded my trust in the practice. While the $48 charge itself is not significant, the lack of transparency is. As a result, I will be looking for a dental provider that places a higher priority on honesty, transparency, and patient trust. read more

Let me start by saying WOW! I am so glad I found this Dental office. I have been looking for one for a while now. From the first moment I stepped into the office, EVERYONE, not only smiled but genuinely looked happy to see me. I have been in customer service and sales for many years and that first impression is everything. I hate entering an establishment and people look and act like you're just another number or that you're a bother. You won't feel that way here. Next, I was escorted to a beautiful meeting room. That was unexpected. I was wondering, hmmm, why. Then I was greeted by Alexis (who was awesome) she simply asked me to tell her about myself so she could get to know me better. Whaaat?!! How awesome is that? I felt like a VIP at a dental office...Nice!! Then Dr. Datta arrived after her and literally asked to get to know me as well and wanted to know what my ultimate goal and expectations were with my smile and dental care. I mean, omg! I have never had an experience like this in my lifetime. Dr. Datta Immediately made me feel comfortable. Thank you Dr. Datta. Lastly, Sarah was responsible for my cleaning and explained everything she was doing, step by step. She even introduced me to some of their state-of-the-art imaging equipment. Sarah was amazing and friendly and kind. Without a doubt, I am certain that I have found my dental care home. I will be going over a plan for treatment and follow up soon and I will give you an update on that experience, however, I know they will do a great job. This office goes above and beyond. Great location, coffee shop on the first floor. Clean modern office. Short waiting time. Hygienist was very thorough, described in detail what she was doing. I took 2 stars away because of 2 reasons - (1) I had to prepay the whole amount of my share after insurance before I could book my fillings. And I did check my credit card the payment was posted on the day of booking and not on the day of service. I have been to many dentists in the area and this is the first time I have encountered such policy. (2) The most painful numbing injection I have ever experienced! I think it was because the numbing gel was placed too early while the doctor was still busy with another patient. this is actually the main reason I wouldn't go back again. However, I would also like to mention the dentist did a great job with the filling. She was very precise that it did not need many attempts to adjust the height of the filling. read more

This place is AMAZING. Everyone I have dealt with in this office has been so friendly and overall wonderful. From the man I originally spoke to over the phone to schedule my appointment, to my hygienist and Dr. Diana, and even Melissa (I believe that is her name - I'm horrible with remembering names) in billing. I have been terrified of going to the dentist for years due to horrible experiences in the past and everyone here puts my mind at ease. My hygienist and Dr. Diana explain everything thoroughly and are very understanding and accommodating. It's unfortunate that you don't have any flexibility with openings on Saturdays. Due to COVID & the limited office hours, additional days should be offered. I have called multiple times to get a cleaning on a Saturday & staff members don't seem to care nor accommodating to patients- especially with their work schedules. I shouldn't have to constantly run after you to fit me in for a simple cleaning. Your high reviews does not make up for your limited availability to get a patient in. I would suggest a game plan to make patients happy to come into your establishment. Everyone from Ridgewood dental is wonderful! The front desk ladies are so polite, helpful, and professional. All of the dental assistants make you feel comfortable and properly taken care of. Dr. Dadda is amazing! I came to him a year ago with severe tinnitus in my left ear. He immediately started taken care of me with multiple oral appliances and he taught me jaw exercises. I am now 100% free of the ringing in my ear and my jaw feels better than ever. The tinnitus was caused by months of stress and jaw clinching. My entire family now goes to Ridgetop Dental. Great dental office! Doctor Verma Saxena is my dentist. She is a kind soul, very gentle and cares deeply for her patients. I had to get a root canal done and I put it off for nearly a year. I was scared of the pain and discomfort and it took me nearly a year to finally find the courage and get the procedure done. Not only did Dr. Verma Saxena explained EVERYTHING during the procedure but she also stopped to make sure I was comfortable and not in pain. Words cannot express how grateful I am of her and her patience. Although I have not had any interactions with the other dentists, I would highly recommend this practice, and Dr. Verma Sacramento. The gentleman Jacob is so patient, kind, and welcoming as we started the initial appointment process. I'm very pleased with the attentiveness that was provided to ensure all the paperwork and insurance information was completed beforehand. When arriving I really appreciated the initial sit down with the dentist to discuss any concerns. That was new for me and I've never experienced that kind of interaction with the dentist before. I made an appointment for wisdom tooth pain and was seen same day as a new patient! Dr. Datta Malyavantham walked through my options to get the tooth removed, made a few calls for a referral and ensured I was able to get it done that day. Keep in mind this was the day after Christmas so staff and availability were limited. The compassion, care, and efficiency with which the staff displayed, was unlike anything I've experience before. I cannot say enough great things during my first visit. I fully intend to change dental offices to Ridgetop after yesterday's experience. The receptionists are very personable. The hygienists have all been great! They are super-gentle with my sensitive teeth, which I really appreciate. And they made me feel at ease, even covering me with a blanket when it was a little chilly in the office. Dr. Dianna removed my wisdom tooth, a procedure I had been putting off for a decade or more. It was not a straight-forward pull (unfortunately, for all involved), but 2 and a half hours later, most of the tooth and all of the nerves were removed. It healed pretty quickly and was not nearly as painful as I was expecting (didn't even fill the prescription I was given). I will definitely be returning. read more

I finally got a response after emailing the manager and begging her to get back to me with the excuse being "I do apologize for the delay in my response as it has been a hectic few weeks." I was recommended to Ridgetop Dental earlier this year, and it took me 10 months to make the call to schedule an appointment. When I finally went into the office after pacing around the building a couple times I was greeted by the very friendly front desk staff. A couple minutes later Dr. Diana took me into the office and sat and talked with me for a couple minutes about the practice. Then I went to the back for my initial appointment, I'm not sure if they will let you pick the Dental Hygienist who works with you, but if they do I highly recommend Susie, she is kind, gentle, and funny. After a couple laughs my appointment was over and I scheduled my next appointments for some big follow-up work. Dr. Diana took round one, and did an excellent job of putting me at ease for a 3 hour appointment. I was very surprised at how gentle the procedure was, and she took great care to explain everything to me as she was working on my teeth. A week later I went back for round two and saw Dr. Datta. He was also very gentle and I hardly felt it when he put in the Novocain, this is coming from someone who is terrified of needles. Susie wrapped up the procedure and was absolutely wonderful. Datta is a dishonest dentist who tries to sell you unnecessary procedures. My suggestion is to get a second opinion. His office finds out how much insurance coverage you have remaining for the year and suggests unnecessary procedures to use all your remaining coverage. Avoid at all costs! He has positive feedback on some fraudulent websites where you can't even leave him a review! read more

Dr. Datta was absolutely phenomenal. I had to get a crown on a very troublesome tooth - it's short and therefore difficult to get a crown to stick to. Dr. Datta and staff, especially Kara, was very friendly. The procedure was fast and the crown has stayed on for 6 months already. He recommended I go with ceramic and the color is a great match. I am always impressed with the service & quality of care when I go into Ridgetop dental. Dr Data did an amazing job with my Invisalign treatment a few years back & Dr. Diane & Dr. Shaw are super friendly & do a great job in what they do. The hygienists always do a wonderful job in cleaning/polishing & making it a great experience for me & my family. Mozhgan ( one of the hygienists) is great at being extra detailed in her work. She makes sure to double check her work after scaling my teeth to make sure she didn't miss a thing! I highly recommend this practice to everyone I know. I pass about 15 dentists on my way to Ridgetop but I love the family atmosphere they have. It's worth the extra miles to get top notch service! read more

Ridgetop Dental is an excellent practice with the friendliest staff and excellent doctors. I just had my 3rd (and final!) gum graft. I was so nervous - there are so many horror stories on the internet. Dr. Datta explained everything, the procedures were relatively fast and painless (once you get past those Novocain shots!) and healing has been easy. Dr Datta called me at home in the evening on his own time to see how I was doing. I am the biggest wimp when it comes to dental procedures and dr Datta and the whole staff made me very comfortable. read more

Also if you need to followup they charge you upfront for Doctors time that you have blocked in advance, making it very difficult to change if you want to see someone else. Do not go to him. He delivered two crowns which has problems and didn't fix the problems. When I asked him to take out the crown and refund my money so I can have some one else do it, he yelled at me over the phone and said" do what every you can" and hung up the phone. I'm sure dr. datta is good with people who don't have grinding problems or any sort of teeth issues. The billing was terrible, they make you put down more than owe and unless you ask for your money they wont give it and if you do they promise to put it toward another bill. I have very good dental insurance and they definitely took advantage of that. He persuaded me to do at least one inlay but i refused to get the second one done simply because the first one fell out and even though he replaced it for free i still feel like two years later it's going to fall out again. he also told me my roots weren't fit for braces well here i am with braces lol from one of the top orthos in the area. I'm annoyed that i felt comfortable and he knew it too! when the inlay fell out he said "you must have been angry and mad at me" i was! but i was too nice to say i was. that was the last time i saw him. He did 3 of the 4 quadrants and $3K out of pocket (remember i said i had good insurance?? well the best way to scam someone for more money, pick the most expensive fillings). I recently read that onlays/inlays are not good for people who grind their teeth.. i thank my lucky stars I didn't get the last quadrant done. Also, i got the inlay to replace my already cavity fillings. So like i said, a or 2 years later, i still feel like the inlay is coming out, and my bottom two molars weren't smoothed correctly or something because i could pick off the layers of whatever was put on my teeth for my other regular resin fillings. read more

The experience has been outstanding. The entire team provides an outstanding client experience. My hygienist, Mozhgan is the best! While my treatments have been with "Dr. Datta" the other dentists in the office are also pleasant and I would have no issues seeing any of them.
