They cleared out the weeds, trimmed bushes and trees, prepared the old lawn with top soil and new seed, set up perimeter borders, replaced valves and set up sprinklers the right way to ensure exact coverage so that water isn't wasted. You get a fly-by-night crew messing up your concrete, and there's no easy solution. I got three bids on my patio. Sione's was the most expensive. But in the walk-thru, Paul noticed things the other contractors didn't. He asked really good questions and provided a price quickly. His decades of experience was evident. So I decided to spend more and use him. He and his crew didn't disappoint. I wanted an arc on the end of the patio, and they worked on the form until I was happy with it. They answered all my questions and I had a lot. I'd overseen a lot of commercial concrete in my career, but was unfamiliar with several things they did during this residential job. It wasn't wrong, it was just unfamiliar. They explained why they were doing what they were doing, so I withheld judgment until the end. There were a couple of details in their prep work I wasn't happy with. They changed them without complaint or argument. And they cleaned up after they were done. On top of everything else, the crew was amazingly fast. Concrete is brutal work, but these guys moved like a well-oiled machine. The result was a beautiful product. No low spots, perfect slope, clean joint, beautiful radiused edges. I will definitely use them again when I'm ready to replace my old driveway. The front of my retaining wall project looks great!…read more But they 'finished' without leveled lawn or top soil, just uneven fill dirt, and covered my water valve access in a foot of dirt. New poured walkway did not have control joints and isn't sloped downhill away from my house. Instead of concrete steps they used retaining wall blocks without caps and left an awkward 3/4 step. Jorge did work with me on some corrections I wanted but I never saw him on site. Issues might have resulted in loss of communication to his team. I've already spent 6 hours cleaning up and leveling what they left me.
