Please read this entire post probably the only real review on here. I am really sorry to have this experience considering the situation and my family having done charity events with My Ridley. I called his office never needing a attorney prior to this over a matter that should have remained a civil case from a prior employment. I was terrified I had my world turned upside down and was charged with five felonies and had absolute no idea on how and for exactly what besides the felony charge itself. On the 1st consultation Mr Ridley and his business partner Brian had a great sales technique me being a sales manager I knew exactly how they where trying to build value in his services, expertise, his relationship/ favors due to his DA past with Ventura county that could help somebody that clearly shouldn't have these charges. By the end he charged me 35000.00 for the five charges. Also never was given any contract or agreement for months till after he collected is money, all of his unearned money. This was my kids and I savings by the way. But this was the biggest scariest time in my life and I was desperate. I eventually found out he charged me over triple what any other attorney would and they would have actually done something to warrant that money keep reading you will see how out of line and unethical Mr. Ridley is but this is where it gets worse. I never received any discover from Mr Ridley's office, I was never even told exactly what my charges resulted from besides from my prior employer. The only thing that did happen was one of his office staff would appear to continue my court case for I believe 6 times which was a total of eight months I believe give or take. Then I eventually got a agreement from his office but rushed telling me I had to sign and send right back or they wouldn't show up to my court date the next morning so I trusted them huge mistake. Then I get a email saying I should plead guilty to the charges and ask for forgiveness due to me taking accountability from the courts. After that 1st meeting where Mr Ridley and his office manager seemed so emphatic and that they would get it pushed back to civil court so my lawsuit against my old employer could finish. I was never asked one question about the case or the charges, Never asked for all my evidence that would easily disprove or the fact i had over 30 witness that wanted to tell their view to disprove the charges was never even asked about. I don't know he could do this but Mr Ridley was telling me to take a deal with 6 years in prison with out of a blink of the eye. Then I responded with what I stated above for him to tell me well you only paid me up until the prelim hearing!!!!! That is the 1st real hearing by the way he did this as we where sitting in court waiting for the judge to call my name!! It almost knocked me off my feet. He whispered check your agreement to me the one they had me rush and sign prior. I responded with you told me that the fee was from start to finish with my case even on the slimmest chance it would go as far as trial. He laughed and said nothing besides are u gonna pay me more money or I'm relieving myself as council and I got stuck with a public defender who actually did give me the discovery with in a week and told me what my charges where etc. Then will I was in court I ran into a family friend Scott smith that seemed to bet very unhappy with Mr Ridley after talking to him. Turned out that Mr Ridley had taken double his fee. Scott paid him and then when his parents which where in their 80's at the time also had paid which already was double what other attorneys charged. I do believe that his reviews are mainly fake or paid or just from a simple case when people don't know any better and get taken advantage of. They do put on a good show for you and your family. Go find a legit attorney or even the public defender was better or somebody that is honest and will actually help u get the results u deserve !!! read more

went with him on a recommendation , spent a ton of money just to have my assigned lawyer from his office quit weeks before my first court appearance , no one from his office ever bothered to call me and let me know my lawyer quit , I called to get an update day before the court date to find out all this info, doug had a attitude with me for asking , hung up wondering if I was even going to have a lawyer the next day , he called me back with a nicer demeanor and promised me now I had the top of the line as the man himself was taking over . never once interviewed me to get my side , only reason My case went as well as it did was I spoke up in court against a crazy prosecutor and defended myself against her lies , doug never said a word as he never really investigated anything in my defense , I think he just didn't care enough or thought doing the bare minimum was good enough , the first prosecutor moved on to a private practice and the second new prosecutor came in and ask the judge to start the case over , essentially trying to commit double jeopardy against me but, since I pleaded no contest there was no case to retry , doug stood silent , I felt really lucky My judge Rodriguez was a great judge and saw through the BS and listened to my side , and thank god he did , doug assured me the charge would be removed due to my first infraction , but alas that was not to be and is still on my record . I dont think doug is really a bad attorney, but I think I got him at a bad time and while it was a bump in the road for him, it was life changing for me, not to mention the money spent on his lack luster work. if I was in this position again, I will definitely find different representation. read more

Hello everyone reading this. I am 42 years old with 2 beautiful amazing daughters and my freedom was at jeopardy as well as very very serious consequences.
