His personality matched well with ours, and the day flowed very smoothly. There were a lot of laughs, at the very beginning during the "getting ready" shots. But as the night progressed I honestly didn't even notice he was there (sorry Steve!). Needless to say, he took some pretty damn amazing photos! We knew his style was different then most photographers. His photos tell a story from beginning to end, more candid and less posed. Yes we did have a quite a few posed photos (have to please the folks), but the candid shots were truly amazing. I look forward to working with him again in the future!

His style of "wedding journalism" captures the realness and raw emotions associated with the day. I went through our photos and was able to relive each and every moment that Steve expertly captured. Most of my friends that have gotten married say that it is so hard to remember your wedding day, especially the small, seemingly insignificant moments that are overshadowed by vows and toasts and dances. What I appreciate about Steve the most was his ability to capture those sweet moments. Hugs from closest friend from college, my mother holding hands with my best friend during our first dance, the look on my dad's face after he walked me down the aisle. These moments are pure gold and I'm so grateful to have them memorialized. In addition to being a great photographer, Steve is just a great guy. I knew from our first conversation that we were going to work well together. I didn't pretend to know what I wanted or how this was supposed to go. He guided me through it and gave me his recommendations on things (the best hours for him to be there, whether or not we should do certain posed photos). He was just the right amount of communicative throughout. During the wedding, I honestly have no idea how he shot so many awesome photos because I didn't notice that a photographer was there. When I chatted with him during the wedding, he felt more like a guest. Our friends and family also commented on how great he is. If you're looking for super polished, riding a unicorn into the sunset kinds of photos, Steve probably isn't for you (although I wouldn't doubt that he has even more skills I don't know about). If you want an honest capture of your big day and photos that tell the story of your wedding, don't look any further. I couldn't imagine being happier with the end result.

He delivered on all of his promises and wasn't the most expensive option (not the least expensive, though...). He was able to meet the special photography rules that the church had asked us to follow and he coached us throughout the reception on when and where to get great shots. I didn't know how long it would take to get all the photos I wanted, so I hired him for up to 4 hours. We were done in 1 1/2. He was so reasonable! He had all the pics to us by that same night and we were able to review them as a family before the kids went back to their own worlds. We were so grateful and had so much fun with him! We have called him to do the wedding for one of the 4 in January 2017. I'll be back to write another review. I have had the pleasure of having two sittings with him, one for family portraits, and the other for business portraits. Both times, his studio was clean, well organized, and purposeful in every area. He looks at how you are trying to portray yourself and develops strategies to photograph you for those situations. The sittings have an informal feel, but definitely productive. He is constantly looking for new ways to capture you, and new ways to position you so that you get the look you're hoping for. Throughout, he shows you the photos he's taken to get some idea of what works and what you like so that he can continue to expand on those areas. Afterwards, he sends the proofs for you to review, and once you give your feedback, within a day or two Michael gets back to you with the high resolution copies of the photos that have been retouched and finalized. I found Gabriel via Wedding Wire and ended up booking him for our wedding in Reno in January 2017…read more It was a destination wedding so we weren't able to meet face-to-face prior. However, after having a call with him, coordinating via email, and face timing, we were confident in having him shoot for our wedding. It was the absolute worst weather in about a decade, but nonetheless, Gabriel showed up on time with his assistant and got right to work. He took some gorgeous photos and I think it wasn't easy to work with us because our room was so messy from pre-partying the night before, the guys were all over the place and nowhere to be found at times (not their fault, our timeline wasn't accurate) and everyone was so busy working on last-minute wedding stuff. It was a very stressful day due to Atlantis hotel being SO unhelpful - but that's reserved for another review! Let's talk about Gabriel here. He had a creative eye for photos and worked quickly. We got some beautiful shots that took little to no time setting up because of his experience. The only hiccup we had wasn't Gabriel's fault. We didn't take proper photos with each table. I think that was on the DJ to announce it and he never did. Neither did our coordinators or anyone else. I wish we had done so earlier because no one was on that, which is a big part of your photos. However, Gabriel was nice enough to stay back a little bit longer after we begged him to go around and take a photo with each table and he did. We received our photos in a very timely manner. At around 2 weeks, we were able to view them online. At 3 weeks, we received a beautiful flash drive with all 1400+ photos in there. The most important vendor to me was the photographer and trust me, I did my research, pages of it. I looked on every wedding website, through pages of reviews and stumbled upon Gabriel Photography. He didn't have many testimonials but his website displayed some beautiful shots that aligned with the talent I was looking for - picturesque, romantic and dreamy. I was a little suspicious because he was so affordable (wedding photography typically runs upwards of $2k and Gabriel was well below the average cost). I called him up and we hit it off immediately. He was happy to listen to everything I was looking for and interested in knowing more about my fiance and myself to get a better overview of what we desired. Upon request, he allowed me to view additional galleries of weddings he had shot recently. He was also more than happy to meet me (45 minute drive for him) when I booked a trip back to California to tie up the loose ends before the wedding just so we could meet in person and talk! Gabriel is so friendly and willing to make any and all of your photography needs a reality! He really has that eye for beautiful shots that cannot be taught. My wedding ceremony was unplugged (only Gabriel was allowed to take pictures) and he did a fantastic job capturing every single moment! Not only that, he goes above and beyond what is contracted! Not only did he take the EXTRA time (we were contracted for 6 hours) to make sure every shot was captured, he even helped taxi some of the bridesmaids to the venue last minute! The cost of his service includes ALL of the high resolution edited images he takes and an online gallery. We ended up with over 1400 amazing pictures!! The online gallery of images was ready almost immediately after our wedding and the flash drive was in our hands less than a month after! The photos speak for themselves but I am a true advocate for Gabriel Photography!
