We also had occasions where the caretaker did not show up or was late and did not always receive advance notice of this being the case beforehand. This presented problems as well. Our Family ended up cancelling the service and eventually using Hospice, which was a great experience. This was a decent service, but really did not meet our needs overall.

They've been able to respond to emergency requests for additional assistance (like needing overnight care for Mom when Dad is in the hospital). Every caregiver won't be a perfect match for every client, but they will juggle schedules around until a good match is found. You can have preferred "substitutes" as well, but it makes sense that there are times when a caregiver is out sick and you just have to make do with whoever is available.
