We hired Daniel to paint our newly remodeled salon after a referral. He matched another quote and suggested painting our drop ceiling instead of replacing it. Due to a planned 8-day business closure, we provided a detailed project schedule in writing and confirmed start times multiple times. Despite this, the initial start time was missed, and there were several schedule changes throughout the week. Communication was inconsistent, and arrival times were frequently adjusted at the last minute. The scope of work was reduced by approximately one-third when we chose to go with pre-finished salon stations instead of painting the ecabinetry; however, the contract price was not adjusted. The project was ultimately completed, but the final result required additional touch-ups, there was damage to newly installed surfaces, and cleanup was incomplete. Photos are included for reference. We decided to hire Right Way painters to paint our entire home, trim to ceilings. When I received our estimate from the owner, Dan, I was impressed. He seemed professional walked through my entire house went to his truck and brought back an estimate. My husband had sat down with him to sign a contract and pick start date for the job. Picked a start date but with a short time, Dan contacted me to say "he was going on a family vacation during the time our project was supposed to start, could the job start April 1st, when him and his family returned form vacation?" I agreed to push the date back. The day before said project, I hadn't heard anything about what time him and his team would be starting the next day so I reached out by text. After some "miscommunication", Dan stated he wouldn't be home in time to start our project on April 1st, instead April 5th. At this point, the job we were hiring him for and the price he quotes us far hasn't changed, after his miscommunication he wanted to charge us a minimum of $400. That quickly got handled and we weren't charged. Monday, April 5th, him and his team were supposed to arrive at 7:30 am. I received a text from him at 6:15-ish am to inform me their work trucks were somewhere near Chicago and they wouldn't arrive until 8-8:30 am. They showed up and started work on our home. The project was said to take 4 days. After spending 3.5 days upstairs, I received a phone call while on vacation from Dan, stating he couldn't find my husbands phone number and wanted to ask "if we wouldn't mind paying for more paint since they had done 1 more coat on trim upstairs?" I was under the impression that that all the paint had been paid for and accounted for him the project had begun, also sort of not my Problem since I had already been quoted and signed a contract for the price of the job. After 3.5 days his team began to paint our downstairs walls,kitchen and bathroom. When Dan did his final walk through with husband; the paint was still wet and looked streaky but he was told this is how it looks while it's drying and he left my husband some paint for touch ups since we were having carpet replaced a couple days later. 2 days into this job starting I had left for a vacation, which the owner knew. With the project supposedly start April 1 and only taking 4 days it should have been done before I left for my trip. Pushing the start of the job date back a big inconvenience. I wasn't even sure he and his team were going to show up after the said communication error. Now that the paint is dry and I am home from vacation, we have noticed serval areas that are beyond just in need of a "touch-up". This man had a great sales pitch and what I thought was a great price based off of other estimates I received. I have tried to contact him to ask him a few questions and voice some of my concerns, I have left 2 voicemails and no response. I would not recommend this company. read more

I'd first like to start off saying that if you need a quality paint job at an affordable price look no further than right way! I got a house back from tenants that were evicted and the condition left was not the best at all. Dan, the owner walked me through everything that he was going to do and ended up going above and beyond what was expected. There were holes in the walls, nail and screw holes everywhere The paint was in bad shape and he and his crew came in and in 3 days had the entire place patched, sanded, everything taped and plasticed off and finished off with a beautiful paint job of the entire home! The owner was on site and working the entire job, also took all of my vents, electric and light covers and painted them all just to save me from having to go out and buy new. Every bit of that job was done with the quality and care that he would have done in his own home. Absolutely blown away by the professionalism, the communication and the time frame in which the job was done. Not only that, but his bid was a third less than anyone else I had contacted. I would honestly not call anybody else for any of my painting needs! Great small business, and a good guy in the community! Signed a contract in Sept '19 to paint a large home. They had finished most of the work prior to winter weather causing a need to finish in the Spring. Unfortunately Dan did not show up in April when he indicated that he would return to finish. He also failed to return on multiple subsequent dates that he promised. Finally he ceased responding to texts or phone calls. I needed to hire someone else to finish his job. The painting which was done was a good quality. The lack of finishing the job was very frustrating. My suggestion is that if Right Way is hired, the final payment should be a significantly large part of the contract to entice finishing the job. There should be a completion date and a dollar penalty for failure. This may be enough to have him conform to your expectations. read more

You may want to reconsider. Daniel (owner) has a good sales pitch but has poor follow up on his word and workmanship. He does not return phone calls and texts. After painting project was completed he is difficult to get a hold of and no shows without any explanations. Get a 2nd opinion or another painter with integrity. read more

I've used Right Way twice and had exceptional results both times. Daniel always either answered right away or promptly returned my calls. They helped me choose my colors, showed up when promised, cleaned up as promised and I couldn't be happier. A textured ceiling that had water damage was restored to original, which was amazing. The living room wall paper border that appeared to be put on with superglue was professionally removed and painted over perfectly, which I never thought could happen. Daniel and his crew at Right Way Painters worked on our garage walls and dining room ceiling back in November of last year. The garage walls and ceiling needed retaping and some minor repairs and then repainting. The dining room ceiling had some water damage that needed repairs and repainting. Daniel gave us an estimate, which was reasonable and an expected time for the work to be completed. The jobs were completed in 2 days as per the estimate and was done professionally with Daniel working the job and providing oversight. Our experience with Right Way Painters has been all positive. Initially, we had exterior painting done. The work was completed to an extremely high standard and as agreed, which included some porch repair, garage door repair, and trim and garage door painting. The price was very reasonable and work was done extremely well. Recently, we had them back to have a large portion of the interior painted including some staining, ceilings, doors, walls, and trim. They started and finished the work as agreed (price, timing, everything- in fact they came in below the estimated timeframes for staining, so the project actually costed less than anticipated). They prepared the interior areas carefully making sure to use plastic to wall-off other areas of the house so as to minimize dust and dirt. They tarped everything and then some. They were absolutely meticulate about prepping surfaces for paint and stain, and they even did some patching after painting, and then painted certain areas again to make sure the surfaces looked like new upon job completion. (We had some extremely beaten up walls and ceilings- and they now look like new. One ceiling was water damaged and only roughed in in a portion after removing a light fixture- looking at it now, it looks like new.) They cleaned up at the end of each day- they vacuumed, wiped down the floors, counters etc. They have always been extremely polite and friendly. As far as the quality of the job itself, we couldn't be happier. They removed 7 doors and painted them in the garage carefully setting them up in a sort of a rack system which allowed them to be sprayed and to dry vertically (by the way, the entire garage was carefully protected with plastic to make sure paint ended up nowhere but where intended- my motorcycle is in there and they knew to take extra precaution to protect it- even though it was beyond necessary given the "booth" they created to begin with). After the doors dried, they carefully re-installed every door and made sure every door worked correctly. (Actually, once the painting was done, the completed job showed just how bad the old hinges and knobs looked with all of the new paint. As a result, we purchased all new knobs and hinges, which Right Way then re-installed for free after having already installed all of the old hinges and knobs.) Before the job was called complete, they attended to each and every touch up and detail we requested. We have had other painting in the house done, but the quality of the work done by Right Way really stands out above the prior painting. We were so pleased with the completed project, within a week of the job being completed, we actually obtained a quote (promptly given) and made arrangements to make one more push with respect to interior painting. They are coming back next week! Given price, quality of workmanship, and personal attention and touch, we really don't plan on having any other painter in our home. read more

Daniel, the owner, is nothing but hot air. He sounds professional and does a great sales pitch, but once you sign that contract and give him some money, it pretty much ends there. I received an estimate from him in early August 2015 and asked that the house be painted by Thanksgiving. After several phone calls to confirm a date, all of which I had to initiate, we selected October 12. On October 9th, not having heard from Daniel, I called him only to be told that he had to postpone my date to take care of another client. He said he would be done with the other job within 1 1/2 weeks. I acquiesced and asked him to call me when he was done in order to reschedule my job. Of course, he didn't call. I had to after 2 weeks, and finally got some type of commitment from him. I was going to have hardwood floors put in by another contractor and painting by Daniel. I gave Daniel the floor contractor's name and number to discuss how they could best coordinate the job. Daniel never followed through with that. He then came to paint my house - walls, trim and doors. The house was empty since I hadn't moved in, so Daniel and his crew had very little to worry about as far as having easy access to walls, trim and doors. He did complete the job in a week, which was nice and he did a decent job on the walls, but the trim and doors are something else. He took all of the doors out to the empty garage and sprayed them, layering them on top of each other to dry. I don't believe he primed or sanded any of the doors or trim because now whenever you close a door or literally lightly bump a door or trim, paint chips off. The doors, which had been layered on top of each other to dry, had paint chipping off all over the place when they were separated. It was ridiculous. After Daniel was finished, the plan was that the hardwood floor contractor would put the floors in and Daniel would come back to touch up anything that needed to be touched up and put the doors back in as well as the washer/dryer he had removed. To get Daniel to return to finish the job took multiple weeks, 10 phone calls by me and a plethora of texts. Needless to say, he was not being a man of his word. When I finally talked to him, we scheduled a Sunday date. I was at the house early that Sunday morning and Daniel was a no-show. It turns out, according to Daniel, that he had cut his leg and needed stitches. He even sent me a picture of the injury! I did a little Google check, only to find out that the picture was copied from the internet of an individual from the United Kingdom!! Liar! He then said he would come the next Saturday, and low and behold, blew me off again! Finally, he sent his supervisor on Sunday who spent hours repairing all of the crappy work Daniel's crew had done. NEVER would I recommend Right Way Painting. Daniel is a liar who does not act professionally nor is respectful of his clients. I would find some other contractor who is honest, punctual and does good work. Daniel is NOT your guy! read more
