Having come highly recommended I called on a Saturday on the off chance of a cancellation. Patty said to call Tuesday when they opened and likely she'll be able to get me in. Sure enough, Patty was able to have my scruffy Daisy groomed. As you'll see from the before and after pictures, Daisy looks fabulous. My dog has gone to Tiki Tails for the past 6 years. I really appreciated the great care they…read moreprovided but, earlier this year, Tiki Tails has expanded their resort to a much bigger facility which is beautiful, but, you don't get the warm greeting like you did at the smaller daycare. The receptionist at the desk in the afternoon when picking up my dog didn't know who I was unlike in the past when I was greeted personally and they knew my dog. A couple of weeks ago on a Friday, I dropped my dog off in the morning and she was happy to be at daycare and perfectly fine,when I returned to pick her up, she was limping so badly that she could hardly walk and the receptionist was oblivious. I asked what happened and was told that she was fine which resulted in a veterinary visit that night which I was told that she sprained her shoulder and leg where she was put on medication and restricted activity. I know that the resort cannot watch each dog individually, but, my dog had limited restrictions which were mentioned every time I brought her to daycare. The following Monday, I spoke to one of the leads letting her know how upset I was that my dog got hurt on their watch and also disappointed that the larger facility has resulted in less personal service and lack of attention. As a long term customer, I expected a call from the owners of Tiki Tails, but, never received one.

My husband &I drove to Ft myers from North Port to check out Preppy Pet. From time we walked in, they met our girl, they fell in love with her, and she felt comfortable. Day of cruise we took her there she at first didn't understand why we were leaving her, but she did very well. When we picked her up wk later she was happy to see us. We had pictures of her being silly. They impressed me, the employees do love the dogs & my girl knew that she truly loved her. She is very laid back loves to sunbathe and she had a great time there. Yes we worried because we never leave her take her everywhere with us/she is a service dog/medical alert dog. So she's very intelligent. If she was unhappy I could tell but she was happy. I am picky of where we take her for boarding. I was very impressed by the whole place. She will be going there again dec 2025. Here's the quick story: we dropped off on a Saturday afternoon and said we'd come back on Sunday at 4 p.m. Their windows to pick up on Sunday are 10:00-10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.-4:30 p.m. by appointment only. So we agreed to pick up on Sunday at 4 p.m. with the employee on duty and the employee also agreed. We showed up on Sunday at 3:55 p.m. and waited until 4:15 p.m. No one was there and no one answered the door, which was locked. We called twice and left voicemails and we never received a phone call back. There was a sign on the door that said closed due to the Easter holiday. We picked up on Monday morning, the next day, at 7 a.m. and they charged us for the extra day, so total was $82 for the two days. They also charge $10-11 extra if you want "all day play." We asked why the employee said to come back at 4 p.m. to pick up on Sunday if they were going to be closed for the holiday and the response was, "didn't you see the sign?" They also keep all dogs in the back, and they don't allow anyone back there so no transparency which is very suspicious. I would not recommend this company and they've lost our business permanently. We will use another company going forward.

Contrary to the other 1 star reviews, animals get and spread covid and other human pathogens, people still have not learned to be aware of their own personal hygiene, much less how dirty their pets are living on the ground 24/7 which is utter ignorance. Also if most non essential stores were closed during covid, are these really valid complaints? The store is charming, the staff are extremely knowledgeable about pet nutrition and frankly I brought my dog inside in a stroller because if pet stores, vets and kennels are loaded with pathogens so is any place people bring their pets and think they should run free and swap cooties. NO Thanks! We had a wonderful experience, my dog loves her food and fresh baked cookies (no wheat, gluten, sugar, salt options) and I will be a returning customer and ALSO get my own fresh baked "to go" items next time, which I thought was a great additional service.
