Out of curiosity, I read the negative reviews here for them and was, frankly, shocked. It seems that the few negative reviews are in regards to the office employees, even being careful to indicate that the doctor was fine. I fully support the rave reviews for Doctor Deviney. I do confess I am not the easiest patient, as I frequently have many questions and an interest in finding out what all my options are before I make a decision. Nevertheless, he is always very patient, open, and willing to engage in conversation and offer me his expertise. He is clearly a popular guy, which makes sense, but it does not prevent him from always seeing me promptly. I only remember once in the last decade when I wondered what was taking so long, but even that is negligible because it was not anything unreasonable, maybe twenty minutes. Maybe it is because he has spoiled me by always being ready to see me- once the preliminary tests are done by other members on the team- within ten minutes. Over the years there has only been one short period where there was another doctor sharing the office with him (Doctor Manasia), but she has since moved back to Houston. I did see her that one year, and she was nice enough, but I do remember being a little sad that I missed my annual or semi annual visit with Deviney. Other than the one time, it has always been him flying solo as the only optometrist running this location. Maybe a demanding task for anyone else, but Doctor Deviney has had no problems, as far as I can tell. Getting back to the other members on the team, Ariel, the office manager, is highly recommended with any inquiries or even issues you might have. Always friendly, understanding, welcoming, and even seems to remember a little about me, even though I am sure he has so many patients coming in and out that I can be but a tiny dot on his radar! Other reviewers have mentioned the ladies (Cecilia & Leticia, by my memory) not being nice to them or "curt". Anyone who reads my reviews on Google & here on Yelp knows I try to be honest- sometimes maybe brutally so. I will say that, maybe compared to Ariel, they are less outwardly initiating with their friendliness; more reserved and maybe quiet personalities. Sometimes they have also been short with me, but I am sure that is due to them being more business like rather than with any negative emotion. This should not be construed as faults. They have always been courteous when I have initiated conversation or questions. As for other complaints regarding pricing and such, this is a business; we are in a capitalist society. Only saying. I can personally vouch for them trying to give me better deals on things they can do that for, like frames, but I doubt they have much power over how much someone's insurance covers or how much to charge for standard procedures. Again, things that do have some leeway with to name things easier for the patients, such as payment plans, for example, they are also willing to offer. Anyone who reads my reviews likewise recognizes that I am relatively stingy with my stars, so it is rare that anyone receive five stars from me. As a last note, readers should acknowledge that pretty much every great business has a few negative reviews. It would actually be a little more suspicious if it were perfect. This is simple statistics. So if you have any doubts, I would recommend you read the details in the reviews for the reasons why. It is no shock to me that Doctor Deviney has taken the effort and the time to address the negative reviews, at least on Google. You can read his responses and draw your own conclusions.

I have bad eyes…read moreand when I went to the Eye Clinic they could not get my prescription right where I literally could not see my computer screen without reading glasses. The doctors assistant was very rude and basically told me to live with it. The past year I have struggled to see but thought with my vision being so bad I would just have to live with it as the assistant told me. Fast forward to now. I decided to see another doctor and I am glad I did. See my other review to see who I went to. The doctor told me he could get my prescription right without reading glasses and if not he would fit me for multifocal contacts. He nailed my prescription and the doctor before was WAY off I mean like over -150. I see my computer screen perfectly no reading glasses needed, I can even read the fine print of my books that I read at night with no reading glasses. Don't put up for "good enough" when there is a possibilist of WAY better.

This year, we decided to make a change and try Stone Oak Vision Source located on Stone Oak Pkwy and Hardy Oak. We were able to secure two consecutive appointment slots, which was super convenient since we wouldn't have to make two separate visits. TLDR: I think we've finally found our new place for eye care! The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, getting all of our insurance benefits and allowances to be able to accurately explain our options and costs, even providing us with rebate options that could be applied. From checking in to administering the basic scans and tests. Everything went smoothly and swiftly. Our visit with Dr Mann went very well. Very thorough and knowledgeable, and he explained everything clearly. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from. My husband found several pairs that looked great, so he ordered more than one pair. For me, I would have liked to see more variety in style. It seemed that there were many great brands, but the styles were very similar between them and I had less luck than my husband in that regard. However, they were able to simply replace the lenses in a pair I already have and love! Very happy with the entire experience and will definitely use Dr Mann going forward.
