I am updating my review after going to another doctor for my recent eye exam. I have bad eyes and when I went to the Eye Clinic they could not get my prescription right where I literally could not see my computer screen without reading glasses. The doctors assistant was very rude and basically told me to live with it. The past year I have struggled to see but thought with my vision being so bad I would just have to live with it as the assistant told me. Fast forward to now. I decided to see another doctor and I am glad I did. See my other review to see who I went to. The doctor told me he could get my prescription right without reading glasses and if not he would fit me for multifocal contacts. He nailed my prescription and the doctor before was WAY off I mean like over -150. I see my computer screen perfectly no reading glasses needed, I can even read the fine print of my books that I read at night with no reading glasses. Don't put up for "good enough" when there is a possibilist of WAY better. read more

My experience was great as I walked through the door. Staff was beyond nice. Dr. Acosta, although nice, was not very attentitive and short. These days we all depend on technology. There's no problem there, until you can't properly fit a patient's rx with said technology. On the 2nd visits and a pair of wrong rx'd contacts, I asked her if she could go 'old school'. She never did. She then put my old glasses in the machine where I believed the error began. Visit was over and was given yet another set of wrong rx'd contacts. I decided I would not be returning due to the laziness and lack of compassion for my care. So $300 later I left with a useless set of contacts and a couple nice pens. The problem with ppl these days is that they do the bare minimum to get the job done. The issue with that is that other ppl suffer because of it. Where is your pride? read more

Dr. Acosta and her staff are terrific! My husband and I do not have vision insurance; however, Dr. Acosta's front desk staff checked with our medical insurance, and our eye exams were covered. We never knew that-no other optometrist office has ever checked! Everyone was kind, knowledgeable and efficient. The eyewear technician was so patient with us. I wanted a particular pair of sunglasses, so the technician called the manufacturer to see if my prescription would work in the frames. We highly recommend The Eye Clinic. read more

I've been going to different optometrists every year for over 10 years now and Dr. Acosta is by far the most thorough optometrist I've ever seen. I have astigmatism so the contacts fitting is tricky. Dr. Acosta found that the brand of contacts I was using just didn't fit right on my eyes and kept rotating so she switched me to a different brand and now I can see better than I ever did before. Although it takes a little longer to get your contact prescription because she requires follow-ups, it is worth it in the end because you'll have the right contacts for your eyes. I would highly recommend and will be coming back next year. read more

Excellent customer service from everyone. My drill mount lenses were loose and even though the frames did not come from "The Eye Clinic" (Remick) did a fantastic job of refitting bushings to the frames/lenses using their own bushings. Dr. Acosta is very attentive and provides an in-depth exam and is very good at explaining what's going on with your eyes. Take advantage of all the up-to-date diagnostic equipment they have. The office is convenient to our home, the staff is friendly and the exam is thorough and conducted with great appreciation and care for their patients. I recently returned from Colorado with a bad eye infection. I have had cataract surgery on both eyes. I needed a good optometrist fast. I reviewed all in my area and found that Dr. Acosta had attended the University of Houston School of Optometry and did her intern at the prestigious Baltimore VA Hospital. As a former professor at the University of Houston I knew that this school is one of the tops in the US. Upon my visit she quickly diagnosed my problem and was very knowledgeable about cataract surgery. I don't like people messing with my eyes, but I was very comfortable with Dr. Acosta. She is easy to talk with and has a great deal of knowledge. read more

I was scheduled within days and received a very thorough intake from Vickie prior to Dr. Acosta's very thorough examination. They were both very efficient, kept me informed of the procedures, tests, and what they were doing to include dilation, dye testing (?) and checking my visual health in a variety of ways as well as checking my new visual prescription.
