I've been seeing "Golf for Fitness and Recreation" for the longest time, and a few months ago, I enrolled for the Spring session. For $86.00, you get a 6-week, 2-hour golf class either on Saturdays or Sundays. Compared to private instruction (which can run $80+/hour) or even group classes at other places (which are over $100, and you only get a one hour class compared to Pierce's two hours), this is definitely a deal! Pete was our instructor, and he has been teaching the golf class for over 20 years. I started out knowing nothing about golf, and ended knowing how to chip, pitch, a 3/4 swing, a full swing, and putting. We also learned about the different clubs and golf etiquette when playing. Pete was very kind and patient with each student, and he will explain to you what you are doing wrong and will help you correct it. I've played sports my entire life, and I have had instruction from coaches and instructors, so I know the difference between good instruction and bad instruction. PETE IS A GREAT INSTRUCTOR! We started with a class of about 9 people, and by the third week, 2 people (who I think were struggling) had dropped...I guess golf wasn't for them! The other 7 who stayed the entire 6 weeks did well and we all learned a lot. We even exchanged contact information so that we could get a little beginners golf group going! Thanks to this class, I am now a golf addict. I am also poor now that I'm a golf addict, but that's another story. In short, take this class if you want to learn golf!

The ideas seemed easy and being a former baseball player made sense to me. It was one of my best ball striking days I've had in a long time. Being a 13-15 handicap I think these videos will really help my consistency and confidence. I'm sure I wasn't doing everything correct yet but the changes I was trying made a huge difference. The course has a walking path that goes all the way around the course out to Woodman Avenue back into Lake Balboa Park and then returns to the golf course. I'm not sure how long the walk is, but it's pretty decent if you want exercise. The walking pup is all been empty most of the time. Not too many people know about it. So it's clean and cluttered and easy to navigate. I like to take my dog there early in the morning before it gets too hot. There is also a nice little café there with pretty good food. And lots and lots of sports screens. So if you're a sports but and you like to play foosball and pinball, you should check this place out. I would be surprised if they have less than 50 sports screens Oh yeah, and you can also play golf

I had already paid for my round through GolfNow, and it didn't include a cart, so I asked about renting one. I was asked if I wanted to share a cart with someone else, but there was no one else to share with, as our group was only three people. Despite that, I was charged $36, essentially paying for two seats instead of just one. The lack of communication and the way the situation was handled felt unprofessional and unnecessary. Hopefully management can improve customer service and be more transparent about cart fees in the future
