The groomers did a great job getting my dog looking her best. They were very compassionate about my other dog who couldn't come in for grooming due to serious health issues. It's nice finding groomers who truly care about the dogs. read more

I cannot rave enough about this place! I just moved to the area and have a 25lb terrier mix who gets super anxious around groomers/vets. I hated the idea of finding a new groomer, and took a chance on Riley Rue. Let me tell you, the did not disappoint! We only got a nail trimming/dremel today, but will be back soon for a full bath. They were quick and very gentle with my dog, and they provided a great all around experience for both my dog and I. read more

I found Riley Rue a couple years ago after a bad experience at another local groomer. Initially I was hesitant because she was grooming out of her home, but she eased my fears and I left my maltipoo, Vinnie, in her care. When she called me about an hour later I went to pick him up hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. I'd seen Vinnie after grooming in the past, anxious and unusually clingy...I had no reason to think it would be any different here. But I was happily surprised when he greeted me at her door and was super happy and not stressed at all. His groom was perfect, just the way I'd requested and the fact Vinnie kept running back to Erin told me he was super comfortable with her. That was 4 years ago and Vinnie still loves going there. I'll say to him, "wanna go get a haircut?" And he runs around the house excited to go. Riley rue has moved into a bigger space now, but the quality of care she gives each dog hasn't changed. My dogs love going and always look awesome. I highly recommend Riley Rue for and companion animal grooming. read more

Alright so this is the full story of what happened with my kitten ganondorf I took him to Riley rue pet spaw in Duluth Minnesota at 10:30 am last Thursday. I went to lunch and waited for the appointment to finish. I went to get him and paid also leaving them a 20% tip for the services they preformed. Lisa at the front desk praised him saying how great he was and I was so happy about that. I loaded him in the car when we got home I was gushing to my roommates about how happy I was with the service as we were talking Alie Pesicka turned to me and asked if I had looked at his paws confused I said no and then she showed them to me. They were bleeding and his nails were very short. Both Paul Trader and Alie then told me to call the vet about it because we love our cats and value their health and safety above all else. The vet clinic I usually take him to (off of London road in Duluth) recommended that I use baking soda to stop the bleeding. Then I tried to call Riley rue but they did not pick up their phone. I had to leave to pick up Sara Truman for work/school as I continued to call, on my way to get Sara I left a voice mail saying that he (Gannon) was experiencing some issues and that I needed them to call me back asap. After I got Sara and called them again (a total of 12 times) they answered. I spoke to Lisa first then to Erin the person who actually provided the service they claim that he broke his own nails while in a wire cage as they were drying him. They later apologized for not telling me about what had happened when I picked him up. At this point I informed them that I may have to take him to the vet. She said that she felt terrible about it and wanted me to keep her informed about the cat. After dropping off Sara I returned home and he was still bleeding we tried baking soda again then flour ( flour was recommended by Lisa at Riley rue and the second vet clinic I called). After waiting for a bit the bleeding had not stopped, and valuing my cats safety Paul and I loaded him in the car and took him to waters edge vet clinic (on central entrance in Duluth mn.) I called Riley rue again at this point and explained that I was taking him as per the vets suggestion. Lisa was perceptibly rude to me over my decision saying that she wouldn't bring him in, at this point I said that I would like to be reimbursed for this and she said that I would have to talk to Erin about that and that they would see what they could do. Paul and I went into the clinic where he received an examination. I was sent home with care instructions that he couldn't jump or scratch anything and that he can't use litter for 7 to 10 days because it might cause an infection. I was also sent home with pain pills, an antibiotic, and kwik stop in case they start bleeding again. Then we took the cat home and got him situated. The next day my boyfriend Ayoub Dib and I went to Riley rue pet spaw and presented them with the receipts of the bills I had to pay for Ganondorf. We were assured that she would send out a check on Tuesday and then we left. Today around 1 pm I got a call from Riley rue pet spaw saying that they talked to their legal advisor and they are not going to pay me back for the bills. Because 1.) he injured himself (witch I doubt he would have gotten that messed up if he did) 2.) they offered to have me come back in and they would put kwik stop on his paws (this NEVER happened) and 3.) that my original post was slander. So now let's review the FACTS: 1). my kitten was injured at Riley rue pet spaw (wether it was his own doing or that they cut his nails to short is undetermined) 2.) at the time of pick up I was not informed of his injury 3.) I called 12 times before they picked up 4.) they never offered medical help to my cat aside from cleaning it with peroxide and telling me over the phone to put flour on it. 5.) I took him to the vet and the vet said if it were any worse they would have to cut his claws higher and bandage his feet. 6.) my kitten was in a lot of pain and bled for 2 1/2 hours minimum before I took him in 7.) they agreed in front of a witness to pay me for the vet bills 8.) they are now refusing to pay for my kittens medical bills. I can't say enough good things about Riley Rue Pet Spaw. I've been bringing Loki for several years and she always leaves looking beautiful, smelling great and extremely happy. She actually gets excited when she sees Erin or Stacy and greets them like long lost friends. Our most recent visit was months overdue, as Loki had surgery and wasn't up to the trip. She was kind of a mess because, while I can groom her a bit, she really resists it and ends up getting very anxious. Consequently, getting my pup in shape took an extra-long time. However, Erin and Stacy did a superb job -- really taking the time to take care of the extra fur that had accumulated. They wen the extra mile (or three), and Loki looks great -- and I cant tell she feels great, too. While this is my most recent good experience with Riley Rue, it's not my only one. Every single visit has resulted in a clean, healthy happy dog. As other reviewers have indicated, Loki loves going to Riley Rue because they love her -- and dogs can tell. I am so appreciative of the energy, care, professionalism and affection they show Loki -- every single time. read more
