As a newbie in the area, I've been eyeing news places to try and check out. On my commute to work, I noticed this Donut shop every morning and didn't see any cars for a consistent number of days. I feel for small business owners, especially during the pandemic, so I decided to stop on a whim and patronize the business. There are two entryways into the business. One bypasses a little eating area; the other goes directly to the counter. There was only one person present behind the counter when I arrived, but it seems that soon as I stopped, others stopped in too! That made my heart happy to see others giving this business some foot traffic! Prices for items are comparable to the chain donut places, if not cheaper (I really don't go to donut shops regularly, so I can't say by how much), but I will say the breakfast sandwiches are ginormous! I could see slices of bacon falling out the sandwiches. However, this particular day I wanted donut holes and coffee. Even after arriving to work and heating up the donut holes, they tasted fresh. I liked that they were not cakes with icing and the icing wasn't too sweet beyond consumption. A great gem in the Pearlnd area for you to enjoy if you're in the area. read more

Everything tastes fresh and hits the spot. It is located at the end of a row of businesses so they have the best access to parking. The service is always fantastic. We came here towards their closing time one weekend. It was spur-of-the-moment. Since it was already midday, they didn't have many choices left in the display case. That was fine with me because I'm just a typical glazed donut type of gal. My son was with me though and he loves the sprinkles and designs. Luckily, they had a few sprinkle donuts left. He chose the blue sprinkle donut and a chocolate glazed one. He loved them! I liked my simple glazed donut. It tasted fluffy and fresh. I love when my donuts taste fresh and airy. It also wasn't too sugary. Perfect. Inside is spacious enough for a donut shop. It's also very bright with the walls painted yellow. There are two entrances to this shop since it sits on the corner of a complex. They have a beverage cooler on one wall that is filled with sodas, milk, juices, iced coffee bottles and energy drinks. It's a good selection to choose from. I like the simpleness of this donut shop. I will probably bring my son back one day for a donut treat one morning soon. I'm hoping to see more donuts with designs since they are pretty popular with kids. But even if they don't have any, I'd still come back because I like the taste of the donuts here. read more

Best Donut shop in Pearland. Mom and Pop shop, they know everyone, they'll make you something special, and it's always done with a contagious smile. I always get the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. It's huge and cheap, but it tastes amazing. I've been taking my kids here for about 8 or 9 years and the owners always comment on how fast they are growing!! If you haven't been yet, go. If you are a regular, tell your friends. I've been here a couple of times for both doughnuts and kolaches, and although I think their plain glazed is just good, their large kolaches is where they shine. I've had their large sausage and cheese kolaches as well as their famous boudin kolaches, and they're SO DELICIOUS. The bread is so soft and moist, the sausage and cheese juicy, and the boudin so flavorful and filling. I haven't tried their other doughnuts since I typically like to compare plain glazed at different shops, but they have the typical variety that you'd find at any other doughnut shop. They shop takes up a corner of a small shopping strip so it's very spacious inside. The staff is very friendly and the shop is clean. Give them a try! read more

In a town where Shipleys is king Riley's must be the prince. I don't hail from here, rather been a vagabond my whole life and I adore a good raised donut. Riley's donuts are light, airy, non-greasy with a beautiful crisp skin. They have just enough variety to keep you happy and croissant sandwiches and rolls. We ordered a standard dozen chocolate and sugar and a specially made egg and cheese croissant (my sis does not eat pork). The owner whipped up her sandwich, even ping so far as to season the eggs. The kolaches are great here. I prefer the soft, fluffy breading around the sausage and Riley's got it down. The boudain kolache is a little different, it's more of a croissant breading, but soft and fluffy also. I've never had it fresh out of the oven, but it's probably crispy outside when fresh. The boudain itself, it delicious and a little spicy. It's quite bigger than I expected so I got sick of the flavor towards the end. The sausage and cheese kolache is as expected, but the breading exceeded my expectations. To me, it had a hint of lemon to it. I don't know, maybe it's just me. First all I would like to start my review off by saying their customer service is superb!! The owners are some of the most sweetest kindest caring patient people you would ever meet. The donuts here are amazing they remind me of a Krispy Kreme donut but a little bit more thicker. I am just telling you what I witnessed no exaggeration. So today I decided to give this place a go as every week someone in my dept might bring in donuts. I took a turn today. As I was walking in someone was a couple of steps in front of me so he got to order first. He might have ordered a croissant sandwich and a he opened the chiller for a milk that he sat down on the counter. The lady behind the counter rang him up, told him what his total was and charged his card. Well when she got back to the register, the Credit card machine is behind her, she tells him that she made a mistake and she charged him for a small milk instead of the large. He said no problem Ill just grab a small. So here is where I wont be coming back. (This has nothing to do with race because this guy and myself are opposite races and normally I would be the one getting this.) At this point the guy is walking back to swap out the large milk for the small, she asked me now "how can I help you" but her eyes are completely focused on this guy making sure he was swapping the large for the small, like he was stealing from a convenience store. Its to the point to where I am looking at her like it was your mistake. So the guy turns to her and says there are no small milks, she then asks him if he had any cash cause it was a .70 cents difference. REALLY? You are gonna chicken hawk this guy, hold up the line, and charge him an additional .70 cents because of the mistake you made? I understand simple commerce, that .70 can add up if you were doing that for every person. This was her fault and she should have said don't worry about it, Ill cover it with this dollar I have in the tip jar. Maybe I am making a big deal out of nothing but its the mentality that was totally off putting. These people are all about a dollar and dont have that warm feel like the place down the road. They might be a little more expensive but the donuts are better, they have a wide variety and the people give you that small town feel when they can have a conversation with you and not watch you every second you are coming in their establishment. I should have walked out when all of that was happening so while she was so consumed with worrying over .70 cents she could have lost $30. But never again As far as the food goes, they aren't doing anything special that every other cookie cutter donut shop isn't doing. Besides that I am a Houston boy this is Shipley Country!! read more

i just wanted to try this place out since I drive passed it so much...and it's a good thing I did. Not only does this place have friendly staff and great service, but the donuts and kolaches are fantastic. I had a cinnamon twist and it was light and airy, just as a donut should be. And the sausage and cheese kolache was just perfect. The bread was just sweet enough, and boy oh boy was it soft. They even automatically heated up my kolache for me, I told you they had great service. I'll definitely be back to Riley's as they've now replaced Shipley's as my new donut/kolache shop of choice! read more
