I never received an invoice or any kind of paperwork regarding the $100 that I paid for myself and for my husband. A few days ago she sent me options for travel insurance. The option that we had to look at was going to cost $374 for each of us. I assume. I did communicate with her for clarification on what the cost was going to be. Whether it was $374 each or $374 combined for both of us. I never received a response or clarification from her. We are Medicare recipients and we have to have medical insurance because Medicare does not cover us when we are out of the country. We were not aware that the travel insurance was going to be that costly so for that reason I canceled the reservation. I was told by Toni in an email that she was not going to refund the $100 that we paid. I am filing a complaint because I want my $100 refunded due to the fact that we were not given complete information initially about the terms of the refund policy. In my mind this is a very shady business practice. I did book 2 cruises in the past with Toni and the first one was not up to my expectations. I did let her know about our non-working phone cabin experience and actually we were given no feedback on that particular experience either by her or carnival cruises. Needless to say I'm very disappointed to have to give this kind of review but I have no choice but to tell it the way I have experienced it from this travel company.

I went last spring (2016) and explained to travel agent that I had NEVER gone on a trip out of the country and I was needing help with purchasing a vacation package for my immediate family including my mother- it was actually her birthday gift. The agent-Avelina, sold us 5 tickets and I paid cash, she never informed us that there is TWO types of passports-- a CARD and a BOOK. She made copies of what we had and gave me the print out of the tickets and said "Perfecto todo esta listo" "Perfect everything is ready" 10 months later, we get to airport and they did not let my mother board because she has the wrong passport!!!! I called the agency and their solution was, leave your mother at the airport and go without her!!! my mom is 67 years old, not fluent in English AND with no car or way to get back to her house which is an hour away from the airport. Till this day they have done nothing to get me tickets. on the contrary they want me to pay an ADDITIONAL $3,000.00 dollars for new tickets. I originally paid almost $5000.00 for the tickets, I paid hotel in Paris, hotel in Madrid and rented a car. I also paid parking for 10 days at the airport to leave my car there. Who is going to reimburse me for all the loss???? Not Excelsior, they don't even want to pay for new tickets.....when I called them to inform them of the nightmare I was going thru at the airport she began making me feel like it was my fault that my mother didn't have the proper passport. I explained to her that was the whole purpose of hiring them, so they could tell me what I needed!!! Avelina has insulted me and made me feel completely dumb. No one should ever, ever have to go through such a horrible experience. I was looking forward to this trip, it was suppose to be a once in a lifetime experience and instead it has caused so much headaches and tears.

There were a couple of minor hiccups that were not because of anything he or his team did, and I contacted him about them and he was all about addressing them and finding a solution. His customer service is beyond 5 stars - trust me on that, and that alone is worth every penny spent. So let me explain why I know it is better to use a travel agent versus doing it yourself. The biggest pro is that if there is any problem, your travel agent can handle the resolution or at least do the fighting for you. Travel agents speak the language so they can get things done quicker and more efficiently than the "non-speaking" do-it-yourselvers. They have access to programs and sites that most of us novices don't even know about. It's as if they are shopping at the Mall of America versus the general public's Dollar General version. My husband and I took our daughter and her husband to NYC for a fun, gourmet focused trip, (daughter is a chef), and it was even better than we'd all expected. The hotel Scott found for us was absolutely amazing. It was smack dab in the middle of everything we wanted and needed not to mention is was a beautiful hotel.
