The hood and windshield were the parts that needed to be replaced. I was told by the body shop that I would get a used hood but it would be painted. I was told the fenders would be painted to match the hood color. When I went to pick up the car neither fender was painted even though my bill showed that the work was done. I asked why they werent painted as I was told they would be and why the charges for painting them was on my bill. The cost was taken off the bill and I was told that it wasnt necessary to paint the fenders because the color matched the hoods color which was supposedly just painted. If the hood was just painted it didnt make sense that it would match 17 year old paint on the fenders. The hood was used and where there were dings you could see that touch up paint was used and the color did not match the hood color. The car is silver and there was a red spot on the hood. If the hood was freshly painted there shouldnt be a red dot or touch up paint used. It just proved to me that I was being billed for work not done. The car was taken back in to the shop for a long time to have the ding spots and the red spot buffed. I was not impressed by this because it did not change the fact that the hood didnt look freshly painted as I was billed for. I complained to my ins. co. who said they saw the before and after pictures sent to them from the body shop and were happy with the work. I guess the owner of the vehicle being unhappy with the work doesnt matter to either the body shop or the ins co. I informed my ins. co that I am never using that shop again and I will be looking for a new ins co.

Usually I regret going anywhere else and kick myself for not just coming here. I moved to Skowhegan so I tried a couple garages near me, but again, came back to Hardings. They were ok, but didn't compare and often I'd have to take my vehicle back to fix things they missed or didn't do right. I can tell you in all the years I've been using Hardings I don't think that has ever happened! They are thorough, honest, and very competent. I have had a lot of really bad experiences over the years with repair shops so I don't trust hardly anyone!! I trust Joe at Hardings. That is saying a lot coming from me. Joe is upfront, real and honest. He tells it like it is and I know if he tells me something needs to be done it does and I don't have to wonder if he's BS-ing me. He will break it down for you also, tell you what has to be done now, what can possibly wait a bit, etc. He will work with you. I recently tried another place recommended by someone else, as they were much cheaper, big mistake! They went over their estimate by $200 & didn't even call to tell me & wanted to do other work that was not necessary. I went back to Hardings and now have my truck up and running great and inspected. Lesson learned. I'll be a customer for life. My aunt has been a customer for over 25 years and has been treated so good she NEVER goes anywhere else and always sings their praises. You truly get what you pay for, as they say. Harding's may not be the cheapest around (although still reasonable!) but they are the best, IMO. I know my car is going to be fixed right when I go there and I won't be told they can't figure out the issue, as I've had happen at other places. They do everything, including rust repair too. Update to what this clown did so I have the receipt for the fuel pump this guy did took him 3 times…read moreand guess what it still pisses gas do not let him touch your vehicle he will mess it all up figured I'd come and leave my review well I have owned my truck for 6 years always have had 4 wheel drive after I had Scott touch my truck I am not sure if it was anything when he took the drive shaft out or when he did the wiring harness but I no longer have 4wheel drive it worked for all the years ive owned it till Scott touched it also on top of that he broke my mirror to my truck when he tried to back it into his garage. So now when the wind hits it it doesn't stay in place and you can see the paint on my mirror where he hit it. He denied it instead of being decent and coming good for his mistake. My manager was with me when i dropped my truck off and she knows as well it wasn't like that before. He was supposed to do the rear break line still leaks after hours of working on a very simple break line job. well he loves zip ties that's for sure he will zip tie your whole vehicle if he could. Prior to him opening this garage he also used to work for ramsdells in hartland which at that time him and the owners son of that garage tried to do a fuel pump and broke the air flow off the gastank and decided to glue it back on what Scott and that other guy did cost me thousands too fix. I have been leaving reviews about this guy for well over a year now on Google reviews and Facebook......... quality automotive in brewer is actually a good shop have not had any issues with them...
