I originally had an appointment scheduled for June 29. When I called to reschedule, I was offered an appointment at 4:10. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding, and I believed the appointment was for the very next day. It turned out the appointment was actually for July 30. While I understand miscommunications can happen, I wish the month had been clearly stated during the call. I left work early, picked up my dogs, and brought them to the clinic for what I thought was their appointment, only to find out there was no availability because the veterinarian was fully booked. It was frustrating to have disrupted my workday and put unnecessary stress on my pets for no reason. This wasn't my first disappointing experience. In the past, I've experienced long wait times, difficulty reaching someone by phone, and I was disappointed when my cat, who was in distress, couldn't be seen because he was considered a new patient, even though my dogs were already established patients at the clinic. After leaving, I contacted Ringtown Veterinary Clinic. They answered the phone immediately, scheduled my pets within a couple of days, and made the process simple and stress-free. I have since requested that all of my pets' records be transferred there. I recognize that veterinary clinics can be very busy, and I appreciate the hard work of the staff. However, clear communication, reasonable wait times, and accessible customer service are important to me. Unfortunately, my experiences at Anthracite Animal Clinic no longer meet those expectations, which is why I've chosen to take my pets elsewhere.

They were knowledgeable and kind. My cat gets scared easily and they handled him so well and made him as comfortable as he could be under the circumstance. I felt confident in the nurse and doctor and they explained everything well and didn't seem rushed answering questions and getting information. The price seemed reasonable, especially for everything they did and also including the medicine he needed. I will most likely be returning here for my cat's vet needs.

I called my former Vet, (who I've paid thousands to for seven pets) and I couldn't get an appointment for three weeks? Called several other Vets and if you weren't their client, you were either out of luck, or appointments a month or more out. The only other option was an emergency clinic. I have taken her there once before and had…read morean overall good experience. this time was not good. they use a dremmel tool to file down her nails from them trimming them. well she grabbed the dremmel tool with her foot causing her to get two seperate lacerations on her foot, with one having to have souchers put in. the excuse was given to me was, she never had a parrot grab like that before. well I'm sorry, but that's what a bird does. they use there feet to grab everything. they gave me a pain med for her, and then turned around and charged me for it. will never go back there again. very not experienced with birds there, even though they say they are!!

On Sunday, I had him at an emergency vet near Williamsport. They were extremely dismissive and $475 later, I had zero answers. I was able to get a next day appointment with Mountain Shadow without being a prior client. They scheduled me the very next morning. I knew I made the right decision as soon as I walked in the door. Dr. B suggested an ultrasound and minutes later had a diagnosis and treatment plan. I am now a lifetime client and have already recommended Mountain Shadow to several of my friends. Thank you so much Dr. B and staff! I also have to say that it is crazy to me that there are any negative reviews of Mountain Shadow. I read another review that says not to pay attention to the negative reviews, and I echo that sentiment 100%. My dog was not doing well at all, but when Dr. B got on the floor with him to introduce himself, Cooper lit up and was trying to get on his lap. We had to say goodbye to our best friend of 15 years today and due to COVID19, we were forced to go back to a vet who has never treated us or our animals with even the slightest bit of kindness or compassion. We understand the regulations that need to be in place because of the virus, but we can't understand is how they can let us in the waiting room but not in the back to say goodbye to our dog. Ms Thornton gave us a cold no with no explanation and showed no sympathy for our pet. We decided that we could not let our dog spend his last moments with such a terrible woman and we told her we were leaving to have a vet come to our house. She said "honey you're not finding any vet that will visit your house". Two minutes later, we had an appointment made with Lap of Love. They came to our home and were wonderful. They were compassionate and understanding, the complete opposite of Sara Thornton, Jackie, and the rest of her staff. Don't give this place any business! It is in the same cul-de-sac as the Boy Scouts of America. The staff at BVH is wonderful. They are always kind to their patients and their patients very worried "parents". My cat had several medical issues. They always treated him with care and respect. I loved how they remembered little things about him before they even came in the room. They all took excellent care of him, but I like when he got the same doctor again for consistency. They made sure I knew how to administer medications and they didn't force treatments on you for a price tag. They could not have been more supportive and loving to both him and me when it was time for him to go to sleep. They made me feel comforted and they let me stay with him while it happened. They held his hand and told him how much as I loved him as he went to sleep. It was comforting knowing they care about their patients right up to the end. They helped me get his remains taken care of without me having to worry about anything. They didn't rush me out, they let me stay with him as long as I needed. A few weeks later they sent me a sympathy card in the mail. I couldn't ask for a more supportive vet. I now take my new kittens to see them. When my sister came in with her new kitten the doctor asked how I was copping with my boy's loss. That was so nice. I will tell anyone that they are the best.
