We needed a place that could see us quickly, and was reasonable with pricing, especially since this was an unexpected emergency. We were given the recommendation of Animal Care Center in Danville. There were kind enough to squeeze Rocky in very early on a Monday morning, and worked with us so well. It turned out that he had to have his tail amputated and needed to be neutered as well. Dr. Wild was so wonderful! She was very patient, and reassuring about the procedure; as this was a big deal to me. She took time and answered my questions, and I felt confident with him in their care! Additionally, because this was an unplanned expense, they helped us work to keep it affordable, and let us know what options we could change to keep it in a range that we could take care of! They were very helpful and great to work with. The surgeries went very well, and Rocky is doing well. This is a great place to take your pet. Thank you to Dr. Wild & staff for helping us & Rocky!

Then we Ordered her 6 months flee and tick medicine that they claimed was never paid for. After that everything was fine until yesterday. My mother called to schedule her a nail cutting. During this call the lady proceeded to ask if it was for our other dog who passed 15 years ago... After my dog's nail cutting appointment today, they charged us $29 and claimed it was a level 2 nail cutting. Whatever that means. My family has had 4 dogs and two of them went to different vets, neither of those places charged us that much. And while on the topic of other dogs when my last dog passed back in May of last year they could not find his ashes and it took weeks for us to get them. Totally ruined the grieving process for everyone. I don't recommend this place to anyone with pets. I will not have my pets mistreated and I will not be squeezed out of every penny.

When the phone rang several hours later, I expected to hear that the procedure had been completed and that I could pick my dog up later on that day. Instead, I was told that the procedure never occurred because a staff person poisoned/overdosed my 5-pound dog with sedatives intended for a 70-pound dog. Poison control was contacted but their advice to induce vomiting "did not work", so charcoal treatment was applied instead. An emergency 24-hour facility was lined up (an hour away from home), just in case my dog needed round-the-clock observation/intervention (because Leighows typically closes by 7pm). I was informed at one point during the day, when an employee called to give me an update, that my dog appeared to be doing reasonably well (so far, so good) -- considering the circumstances-- and that I would be glad to hear that "protocols were now in place to prevent this from ever happening again." While I was certainly glad to hear that my little dog was hanging in there, I WAS VERY CONCERNED that effective protocols were apparently not already in place, especially for something as basic as medication management. It made me wonder if other operational protocols are lacking as well, and if staff are sufficiently trained. So, the idea of taking any of my dogs back to Leighows, especially to undergo a procedure requiring anesthesia, was completely out of the question. As an update: I was able to pick my dog up from Leighows about 12 hours after the overdose incident. She was dazed and tired and not herself, following the ordeal. She perked up the next day, after fully realizing she was in her home environment with her humans and 2 dog "siblings." All of my dogs will be receiving the care they need from another veterinarian!!!

My boarding bill was over 1K by the time I picked up my dog. The hospital charged, $9.99/day JUST to give my dog his pills. I would call to check on my dog and no matter who I spoke with, they appeared to not know what they were doing. Always had to check with someone else. At one point I was told there was an increase in my daily rate. I reminded them I signed a contract for the $23.56/day. When I picked up my dog, I received a final bill, which was paid but was later sent another bill in the mail for more money. Another $46 dollars. For refill of my dogs meds. Even though the bill was paid in full when I picked him up. The focus with this veterinary hospital is on revenue, padding bills, rather than good customer service and dedication to the welfare and health of animals. I have utilized many veterinary hospitals over the years, even Ryan Hospital in Philadelphia. Ryan Hospital is exemplary. However, I would never use Sunbury Veterinary Hospital/boarding again.

It is in the same cul-de-sac as the Boy Scouts of America. The staff at BVH is wonderful. They are always kind to their patients and their patients very worried "parents". My cat had several medical issues. They always treated him with care and respect. I loved how they remembered little things about him before they even came in the room. They all took excellent care of him, but I like when he got the same doctor again for consistency. They made sure I knew how to administer medications and they didn't force treatments on you for a price tag. They could not have been more supportive and loving to both him and me when it was time for him to go to sleep. They made me feel comforted and they let me stay with him while it happened. They held his hand and told him how much as I loved him as he went to sleep. It was comforting knowing they care about their patients right up to the end. They helped me get his remains taken care of without me having to worry about anything. They didn't rush me out, they let me stay with him as long as I needed. A few weeks later they sent me a sympathy card in the mail. I couldn't ask for a more supportive vet. I now take my new kittens to see them. When my sister came in with her new kitten the doctor asked how I was copping with my boy's loss. That was so nice. I will tell anyone that they are the best.

I know five people in the area that bring their dogs to this facility so they suggested I come here as well... I have since spoken to those five people and explained to them exactly what happened and they will now be removing their pets from this facility and going somewhere else that actually cares about the animals. I was called early the next morning only to hear he was too Sick and his Organs had been shutting down for a while due to the Negligence of his Vet he'd seen for 3 yrs!! She overdosed him on Prednisone a dangerously strong Steroid!! She gave him Pancreatitis the second day he was on way too high of amount PREDNISONE! I Trusted her! All she kept doing were blood tests! She missed an Infection he had on the first blood test. For two yrs I kept taking him in for Strange weight gain and he couldn't even climb his stairs anymore to get on the bed. I told he was acting Strange and walking Funny. He had mushy feeling shoulders. She told me he had Fat Packs?? Huh? He had Cushing's Disease!! I'm not the only one that had a dog DIE UNDER THEIR CARE! I Wish I had taken Finn to Wolf run Veterinary Hospital from the beginning! Finn was Never Sick so just shots. Loyalsock Veterinary Hospital is Cheaper than other Bets and closer. Their CHEAPER TO PULL YOU IN! Then they Kill your pets because All the Vets there are HORRIBLE!! Dr Pardoe not only Killed Finn she destroyed my Mental Health Stability and I'm still Suffering! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WOLF RUN VETERINARY HOSPITAL WHERE YOU AND YOUR PET ARE TREATED WITH HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE VETERINARIAN's!! Spend that Extra Couple of Dollars to see Vets that could save your Furbabies lives! Everything Finn had was Treatable and he could've Survived with the Proper Care! I Highly Recommend Wolf Run to everyone I talk to Especially through my Service Dog Work and even My Online Poodle Groups! Thank you for trying to save Finn's Life! I had him Cremated and even as hard as that was I was treated with such Empathy! His Cremation wooden Box is SO Beautiful! I was Pleasantly Surprised at the Beautiful Bag it came in along with his Foot Print, Sympathy Card and even a Memorial Booklet with a Hotline if you needed to talk about your pets passing.

The night of my rehearsal dinner, my mom received a call that completely ruined what should have been a special weekend. We were told that a vet tech gave Bodhi 80 units of insulin instead of 8 units. This is an extremely dangerous mistake, especially for a 22-pound dog. I spent the night before my wedding unable to sleep, terrified about whether he would be okay. Bodhi then had to spend the next two nights on IVs and under monitoring. When my parents were finally able to pick him up, he was covered in pee and poop, had sores from licking, and still had the catheter in his leg. The woman who handed him over said she had never removed one before but could "give it a try." Four days later, Bodhi is still suffering from bloody diarrhea and shaking day and night. What happened was careless, traumatic, and completely unacceptable. Please think twice before boarding your pet here or trusting them with medical care. There are other options in the area, and I wish we had read the reviews more carefully before trusting them with our dog.
