The gentleman shared a local glazed donut with me (which was awesome) told me a little about the course and we were off! The course was in great shape, the greens too! What a beautiful day and a beautiful round. Pace of play was ever a problem, beverage snack crew came around plenty of times and they were very accommodating. Weeks later we are still talking about it and looking for an excuse to drive back! Thanks Wilderness for the great round and hospitality, one of my top golf experiences since I am have lived in Texas!

Tea boxes, fairways, greens were all green. One common issue we saw is that nobody was filling divots, so you did see quite a bit of dirt around tee off. You'd also catch a rash of divots around certain parts of each hole. Well yes, you can say that's a groundskeeper issue, that's also a golfer issue. Fill your holes. We were the first ones to tee off on a Sunday at 8:00. A.m.. it was a beautiful morning. We had a nice leisurely first nine, we ended up playing a second round and it got a bit busier towards noon. It's a smaller course so don't expect PGA quality anything. You will see a lot of cows and pastures alongside the course, just chilling. It's always nice to see wildlife. There will be ducks roaming around on the course, so be careful of our feathered friends. Of the nine holes, at least 7 are par 3. There are a couple that let you get out into driver territory. If you're expecting to work on your long game, this is not the course for you. There are only two holes that put you in driver territory, with a third if you tee up from the long box (blue). This is a great course. If you're looking for chip, fairway, or putting. And the grip on the greens changes considerably between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. the morning dew will get you. The staff were chill. They they kept everything pretty clean in the clubhouse and they worked out on the course throughout the day as well. Plenty of carts. They do have a driving range, but I didn't get a chance to make use of it. It's definitely out there. Not a tourist destination golf course, but if you're in the area or just interested in trying something different, it's worth a go. $45 gets you two rounds.

He did tell me that they used to be open everyday, but recently changed their opening days to only Saturdays and Sundays. So this is a weekend only golf course just a heads up! This is a good golf course for high or low handicappers. It is a bit challenging on some holes, but that's the point of golf right? You can use all your clubs on this golf course! The greens aren't the best, but it is still a really good course overall! Fairways are beautiful! They do not book tee times over the phone, and their number is actually shut off. So just show up on the weekend and play!! 15 bucks for 9 holes and 25 for 18 holes. Do not bring your children or wives here unless they are golfers themselves! Please respect the rules of this course! You cannot bring your own alcohol either. Buy it from Jimmy if you want to drink. 10/10

My only complaint is that it started to rain about 30min into my session and I hadn't gotten to use my second bucket of balls. Minus the greens, this is my favorite type of florida-ish executive course. 18 holes can be had in under 3 hours, all u need is physical ability to carry 7i- sw for about 2 miles. This is a very tough course to score on from the green conditions and layout. You have to be able to hit it high and low, the size of the greens basically means ur short sided any time you miss one. Fun course, wish it had lights at night!

They also have batting cages and go karting, but we didn't play those this time. They also have a cat there, and she was super cute and sweet and let us pet her. Another thing I really appreciated was how there wasn't that many people here. At other mini golf places or pool bars or arcades, there's so many people it feels like you're being crowded, but this was so open and fun. It did get progressively busier by the time it was 8:30 pm because we got there around 6:30, but still way better than other places in terms of crowds. Would definitely come back here again.

Located in one of the largest public parks in Texas, a park that includes walking trails, kayaking,…read morefrisbee golf,rodeo grounds and aggressive geese (at least according to the signs), Riverside Golf Course is well maintained as well as a great way to spend the afternoon with only the challenges you create for yourself. The fairway's are wide open the greens are soft and fast and the 30 dollars greens fee includes the cart and a small spot to have a cold beer as you relive your inability to play golf. No tee times needed during the week and recommended weekends.
