I had almost polar opposite experiences from the other reviewers of this particular Home Depot. I…read morealmost come to expect bad or non-existing customer service in the Valley so the employees at this location really surprised me. Long story short: I was doing a multitude of repairs/remodeling in my house in Texas and came to this Home Depot over the Christmas break at least 5 times in the week and a half that I was in McAllen. There was a young lady in particular that worked in the flooring department that answered every dumb question I had and was patient with showing me color suggestions for tiles and tile materials. I hate that I forgot her name (maybe early 20s, short, short hair) but she was so nice and helpful during a process that, for me, is stressful and not enjoyable. Other employees were also very helpful. I also had to buy kitchen countertops while I was in Tucson for pickup at this Home Depot location, and Ruben at the Pro-Desk was so helpful at suggesting material that was in their inventory (because the countertops I originally wanted were non-existent at this location). Better yet, he followed up with me when he had promised to. I am doing research and planning for my wedding in McAllen, and people in the Valley do not follow up when they say they will (wtf?) yet the folks at this home depot keep it uber professional. My stepson bought my wife and I a washing machine. He paid for the three year extended warranty…read more After 14 months the control panel went out. They did come to check it, said they would have to order it. When they came, all the panel lights would stay lit. When he opened it to fix it, he broke a wire, I saw it broken. Closed it quickly and left, saying he needed another part. Then my stepson got an email, saying we had an infestation, not covered. we have no roaches or ants that could get in there. Also, when he left, i plugged in back in and no lights came on. Will never shop at Lowes again. Wish i could rate then minus stars, but have to give it one. Not that they deserve it.

I will never shop at this location and will do my best to never go to any Lowe's again. I would love to share that with the store manager as a "teachable moment " but I'm having difficulty finding a contact name. This Lowes is about the same as the rest. They have most any home improvement item you'd need if…read moreyou can find it. I was not familiar with the layout of this store as I usually shop at another closer location. It was near closing time, and employees were busy bringing in items from outside. This Lowes had the particular AC I was looking for. Finding it was challenging, but I did. It was also challenging to find a flat cart with which to move it, so I wound up "touring" most of the store. Thankfully, I tend to enjoy walking through Lowes. When I checked out, only self check was available. The clerk attending the self check offered get someone to help me load the AC. I declined since it was only 55 lbs. The parking lot was not very well lit, but the store was clean and pleasant. Where they could improve is having people available to help direct customer to the aisle that has what they need. That could have saved me a good 15 minutes of wandering around.
