After working with them last season and now the begining of this season, I am a believer. Brad replaced the pool liner. The job was done so professionally , and I would not have believed that a pool could be so beautiful. We hired them to shut down our pool last year and they were so professional, with helpful information ( we are first time pool owners and know virtually nothing). Dave took the time to make sure we understood as much as we could absorb. We hired them to open our pool up this spring. They were very understanding in explaining why they don't recommend this or that and why we should buy certain things. They even told us how to buy them on Amazon to save money ! What kind of pool company actually tells you where the deals are rather than selling them to us at a markup ? I have to replace a winter cover for this pool. I have gotten the quote for the standard replacement and the upgraded replacement. Then I checked prices all over town and was shocked at how well we are being treated by Dave & Brad. The price and quality is great. After this season I will have to replace the summer solar cover. Albuquerque pools told us how to buy the items we need from Lowes and cut it ourselves. wow. I am so grateful we followed the previous owners advice ( locals who have lived here for decades ) and hired Albuquerque Pools and Spas. ps, the reason that this company is so busy and sometimes has a hard time getting back to all the calls that come in is because they are awesome and sometimes get swamped taking care of customers. They are honorable and their customers wouldn't go anywhere else, even if they have to leave a message more than one time. It's worth it.

Good day, Update: Zack dropped off the refund. Issue settled and no hard feelings. Thank you…read moreZack Good Day I hate to do this, but Zack left me no other alternative. I started w/ Atlantis Pool Service over a year and half ago. Zack does a great job when he wants to and when he is not over burdened w/ too many customers. Unfortunately, service diminished after the first month, then he missed appointments, made excuses why he couldn't show-up, and I had to remind him and confirm service each week. I had to follow-up after he provided service. It was rarely ever complete. I had to finish the job on a regular basis and his service isn't cheap $75 a visit. The situation came to ahead. I asked him what the issue was and he said he was overbooked. I said "fine, I'll do my own pool work if you're too busy." I'm not getting what I'm paying for. Zack didn't want to lose me as a customer. I gave him another chance. I like to support small business. The service was a bit better, but still hit and miss and I had to complete the job. Then we closed the pool for the year. Fast forward to March 2022 and we arranged our pool opening and service w/ Zack. We cleaned the winter leaves out of the pool and filled it up for vacuuming. He opened the pool, started cleaning the pool, then told my wife he didn't understand the pool plumbing and could not vacuum the pool. My wife paid him $300. He wanted us to front him $1600 for future service. I told my wife "no" based on his prior performance. He left. I contacted him to finish the job. He said he would show up/call. He never called or showed up. I told him we were done doing business with him and the reason why. I told him he was a pool expert and should know how to use the pool plumbing. He had a season's worth of experience the year before. By the way, he also turned on the gas pool heater and left it on w/o telling us. We found the pool at 90 degrees 3 days later. I finished cleaning the pool (including vacuuming). I told him to refund me at least half because he never finished the job. Zack agreed to the refund and would bring it over. He never did. I texted him many times. He promised to send the refund. It never arrived. He finally responded after submitting an earlier bad review and said he put the wrong address on the refund and he would bring it over. he never showed up. I sent him another text saying I was going to the BBB and write additional bad reviews if he did not provide a refund by Wednesday the 13th. He said he would bring over the refund. Surprise he never showed up. I sent him a text apologizing because he forced me into this course of action. Moral of this story, don't front Zack any advanced funding or pay him for an incomplete job! He's a great person, but provides unreliable service and you'll end up doing your own pool work after his service. He will not honor his word. I expect a refund to be paid for the lack of service and the gas bill. Now since I've had to follow-up again I want a refund of $225.00 Thank you, JF

He's had personal issues so I gave him two extra weeks to start the job and when I asked for my money back, he suddenly didn't have it. I gave him over a month to give me my $300 and he still hasn't provided it. He has sent me messages and pictures of his life which I have been empathetic to, but I can tell he's just sending them in hope that I will just let him keep the money. My brother and I have left google reviews and I have reported him to both the BBB and the DOJ

This is a very difficult review for me to write…read more I see the glowing reviews. I read them before we ever signed our contract. That's why we chose Bluewater Pools. We trusted them based on how well others appeared to be treated, how responsive they seemed, and how supported past clients felt. That's what makes our experience so disheartening. As new pool owners, we did not know how much water loss was normal versus a sign of a problem. Our pool was completed in late September of 2025, and we were only able to use it a handful of times before closing it for the winter. During that time, we assumed some water loss was related to normal use of the spa and spillway feature and relied on assurances that everything was working as intended. It wasn't until the pool and spa were winterized and no longer in use that we realized something was seriously wrong. At that point, the spa was losing nearly a foot of water every two days. This made it clear the issue was not related to use or evaporation, but an active leak. We tried to be patient. We tried to be understanding. As someone who works in new home construction, I understand better than most that things happen during builds and that mistakes can be fixed. What matters is how they're handled. Unfortunately, when we raised legitimate concerns, we were ignored, dismissed, or made to feel like a nuisance. We paid in full, in cash, and yet were treated as though we were asking for favors rather than requesting warranty support for a system that never functioned properly. After months of being told there was no leak, along with ignored calls and broken promises that repairs would be made, we finally hired an independent pool company. They immediately found multiple installation errors, including return lines installed upside down, no check valve between the heater and chlorinator (which had only recently been added after being forgotten), and cracked pipes caused by excessive glue during installation. These defects were actively leaking and were the direct cause of our water loss. We paid out of pocket to fix issues that should never have existed. The build process itself was stressful and damaging to our new construction home. A construction incident resulted in gunite and cement being sprayed across our property and neighboring homes, damaging personal items and window screens. Subsequent cleanup caused additional damage and repairs that did not match the existing building materials, including broken roof tiles. While some efforts were made to address these issues, including assistance with additional concrete, the overall experience left us feeling guilted for problems that were not ours to own. We were repeatedly told the company had lost money on our pool and that we received a "really good deal" -- a deal we were never aware of, as it was simply the price presented to us by the sales representative. What hurts the most is not that things went wrong. It's that when they did, we were not treated with the care, respect, or accountability that so many other reviewers describe. I keep asking myself: why us? What did we do that warranted being repeatedly ignored, spoken to dismissively, and left to fix serious issues on our own? Was it because they lost money? Because we paid in full, in cash, and our project was no longer a priority? Writing this review goes against my nature. I don't want to be "that person." But future customers deserve honesty. If everything goes perfectly, you may have a great experience here. If it doesn't, be prepared to advocate fiercely for yourself. I truly wish our experience had matched the many outstanding reviews we read. Sadly, it did not.
