We wanted to replace our side yard gate for some time now and came across RR Iron works. We liked one of their gate designs near the front of their business but wanted a few changes and of course built to fit the dimension of the opening while providing some privacy. We opted for a powder coat finish and the result is fantastic! The gate looks amazing and the workmanship is outstanding equalled by the installation. We couldn't be happier with the final outcome. one of the worst experiences I have ever had. firstly Rachelle doesn't even know how to measure properly. I ordered two gates and both were the wrong sizes. the whole process took over nine months to complete. while installing one of the gates they drilled incorrectly and damaged the gate and never even a knowledge the damages and left before I can even share what I saw. I had to go buy paint on my own and fix it myself. the next issue with the other gate it was not as low to the ground as I requested die to pets able to bet out. her huband also damaged the latch and didn't even let me know about it, he tried to cover it up by welding a piece to make it work and hide the damage. I am very unhappy with this company. I highly recommend using someone else even if it's more expensive. lastly I was charged for a locket they put in temporarily while the one I ordered online arrived. they way over charged for the lockets too! she never said anything about me keeping the ones they put up temporarily and they were differencolors as well! there was also a third party charge for having them powder. coated that was insane about $300.00 for each door just to have me pay the powder cost company myself. Rachelle a Ouse same as much as possible leg and never took any responsibility for their errors or tried to offer to make it right. We made an appointment to view some security doors. We were met with a friendly and knowledgeable customer oriented person who listened to what we wanted. A follow up was scheduled and they came to our house to measure our doors. The staff was prompt and friendly. We ordered our patio and front doors and are very excited about getting them. There is a bit of a backlog (14 weeks) but we are excited to add these beautiful doors to our home. read more

I needed a slight repair and wanted to see their work and if they showed up on time before I had them bid for driveway gates. Was hoping for a different scenario since they have been in business for 20 years and I like using family owned and operated businesses.... Very disappointed. I contacted this company for a quote. I received an email from someone to schedule an estimate. I responded twice, but never heard back. I then let them know I'd be writing a review, and I heard from the owner. WHAT an attitude! She's using the same excuse (we're short staffed), but said she'd take care of it. I asked her for rough estimates on 4 of the gates I'm interested in. Got a very short response saying she would only give me estimates on 2 of them. They don't seem interested in new business, and I'm certainly not interested in dealing with that type of attitude. read more

UN-reliable, poor response, horrid customer service. Three times we asked for a quote on an exterior 2 story stair case, three times it was the first time they heard about it". I was excited to have Rio Rancho Iron Works design the perfect iron gate I had in mind. When a representative came out to give me a quote, I was even more excited that they were willing to deduct an amount of the total cost of the gate in exchange for a gated dog run I had planned to remove and take to the dump. After my initial quote, in April, and a down payment upfront of 1/2 the total costs, I heard nothing from the company for nearly two months. I was unsuccessful in getting anyone to return my calls. Finally, in mid-June someone called me to let me know they were at my house for install. No one had bothered to let me know when this appointment had been scheduled. Since they installed without me being home, I was not able to tell them that the gate was not what I wanted. It did not have a full privacy screen, as discussed, and a lot of the intricate details that were meant to be aligned with each other were going completely different directions. The paint was chipped in various places and another gate they installed on the inside of my yard is uneven. I called for two weeks to tell someone my concerns with the gate, but again was met with no response. I paid the remaining balance IN FULL, on June 30, 2016, with the company annotating that I still needed a privacy screen installed and the lining details re-cut and re-welded. I again have not heard from the company since. I have called multiple times and left messages with a woman named April--each time with the promise to call me back and let me know why the work has yet to be completed (2 months after paying) but I still have no answers. I will not use this company again and I will not recommend Rio Rancho Iron Works to neighbors, friends or family. read more

We had fireplace screens made and were very pleased, so when we wanted an estimate for 2-3 gates we called Rio Rancho Ironworks. My wife gave the info and was told she'd get a call back the next day for the time for the estimate.Well, here we are 4 days later and no call back. Their work speaks for itself, but it's hard to want to do business with an outfit that doesn't return calls even if they're too busy, a return call would've been suffice! Common Courtesy! I ordered two gates for two entrances. Paid half to start the work which I now feel was too pricy. After 4 months of waiting I called to cancel order because I felt it was taking too long. They said they'd have it the following week. They did deduct $400.00 because of the wait. They scrambled to put the gates together. The welding was mediocre. Lots of spatter. The paint was not sprayed evenly and ran. They painted the mangate with the gate closed and didn't open gate to finish the inside. Should have researched them before hiring. read more

They installed an iron railing across our front porch, but failed to use anchor sleeves for the stucco wall by the gate. The screws eventually worked themselves out. I have e-mailed them, and even went to their shop to ask that they come and properly anchor the screws. They have ignored me. read more
