I got a quick response yesterday to a quote request I submitted on yelp. One that was about $50 higher than Rios Pro and one that was $50 lower (but the lower one noted that they charge by the volume so this was just an estimate and could have turned out to be more expensive. Given the cost for me to get a trailer myself, pay the entrance and disposal fee at the dump myself and the time and fuel to drive down there and back I felt that Rios Pro gave me a fair quote - so I scheduled the pickup. He came in the time frame provided and got everything loaded up promptly. Woke up on Sunday and decided to finally get someone to haull off my fifteen year old hot tub. I logged on to Yelp and found what looked to be like a good prospect. We needed a tree removed after the recent storms in the area. Our tall redwood as well as the stump. We had 5 companies place bids, this one was the best priced at less then $2000. However I had a couple issues with service. Came late to the job no update. This was important if you say your going to start at 9 be prompt or provide a phone call that's just professionalism. My husband was not home by the time they came and started around 10:45 am. They say they are licensed not sure but overall job was done ok. Not sure if they own the tree removal equipment or rented it. Not sure how many tree removals of this size they do? Left saw dust all over the yard. Pictures attached. According to owner they have no blower and it is our responsibility to clean up the mess. Also allowed the tall redwood to fall into our side bushes damaging the landscaping.. how permanently? Not sure will have my Gardner assess and fix damage and clean up. Aren't the branches supposed to be cut down first? Not sure. Was it worth it for $400 cheaper then the other companies? Not sure you decide. This was a big tree. Called owner with issues claimed "you are nit picking" I mean this wasn't a friend I hired to do this for $100 & a case of beer. It was still between $1500-2000 range. Expected a bit more professionalism. Also I'm 8 months pregnant & I'm sick I shouldn't have to deal with the stress of micro managing a project. I think they did ok. If I had to do it over I might pay more for someone else to do it to avoid the hassles. Update: This is not a negative review it's an honest one. Offered to come out and blow out sawdust after review was posted. When owner text me two hours ago I was at Zoom class. When I asked about cleanup over the phone initially told "we don't own a blower". I think these are nice people and did ok for the price we paid.
