Rip n Stitch has done minor and major alterations for me and my family. Everything has been done on time. I could have dropped half a star because I had to have one strap let out and the new material was placed in the front (visible) instead of the back... That being said, it probably wouldn't have been noticeable to anyone but me AND the Rip N Stitch staff fixed it right away. For everyone complaining about their customer service... Clearly you have a ridiculous standard. The women are extremely nice and very "down to business" which I appreciate. For an out of state wedding, I had three bridesmaid gowns altered and the Rip N Stitch alterations were much better than those done for the other bridesmaids. I've had pants turned into shorts, dresses hemmed and taken in, gowns reworked, jeans taken in, etc. I was very nervous that they would close during the pandemic but they're hanging in there! I used to take all of my new slacks to Rip N Stitch to be hemmed, but I must say that I was never very impressed with their service, which is why I switched to Fix 2 Fit in Union, KY. Even simple alterations sometimes took over two weeks, which is a bit ridiculous. They charged $10 to hem unlined slacks, but Fix 2 Fit only charges $8--a difference that adds up considering that I can't ever wear off the rack clothes. Also, I was never particularly impressed by the customer service--not rude, just not friendly. I was pretty satisfied with the quality of the sewing, but given their prices and turn-around time I'm happy I found somewhere else to take my garments for tailoring. read more

As someone who works in customer service, I know how important it is to make sure each and every guest is taken care of-- but I also know that it's not the easiest thing to do. My review is not just on the poor alterations, but the unacceptable customer service from a manager. First of all, I paid $120 for 3 shirts to be altered. This seems high to me, but my shirts are my work uniform to go out and open new Cracker Barrel locations. I get evaluated very strictly on my appearance, which can effect my pay and ability to go out to more locations. My upcoming opening is in California and is a very high caliber opening, hence why I'm getting my shirts altered. I was upfront about the importance of the alterations, as well as my time line. There was quite a bit of work to be done, including shortening the sleeves and taking in some around the body. I set them up to be picked up on Tuesday. On Monday, I was in Florence so I called to see if they were ready. They were that afternoon, which was a huge plus since I live far out and am on a time crunch. I stopped in and picked up my shirts. I did quickly try on one and it looked okay, so I headed home. Once home, I set up my shirts to wash, press and iron. While doing this, I tried on each shirt. I noticed that they were still bigger than planned and each shirt's left arm was pleated backwards. Since my shirts have to be creased, this is actually a big deal. I called the next morning. The lady I spoke with was very kind, and told me the manager would call me back but that I could bring in my shirts to have them fixed. The manager called me back, but I felt like a nuisance to her and that my shirts were not important to her at all. She said to have someone else bring in my shirts since I would be working 10-8 in dry Ridge the next two days. My sisters brought in my shirts today. They fixed them in 30 minutes. However, the pleats are uneven and sloppy. I would've much rather them take their time to fix the issue properly. I called immediately to have the manager call me back. She was rude the whole time while speaking with me, and I told her that I wanted a refund. At this point, I have to order new shirts and get them realtered. And I will have a low evaluation score for appearance. She said that since they worked on them twice, a refund wouldn't be possible. I find it absolutely ridiculous to use that excuse when it's out of my control that they were brought in twice. This has been such a horrible experience and I would never recommend someone to go this location for alterations. Also, my sister who took in my shirts even mentioned how rude the manager was and said that it seemed she hated me for sending my shirts back read more

Absolutely wonderful experience! I brought in two wedding dresses (because I was undecided). She looked at both for me and gave me quotes for both. Might come off a little rough at first but she is a very nice lady! Fairly priced and willing to work with me. Will definitely be returning when I pick my dress. They sold my beautiful beaded top that was a one of a kind item to Snooty Fox. Every time I went in to have something done, they were extremely slow and didn't do it correctly so I would have to come back again. Beyond upset with this place. My mom took her mother of the bride dress here and they hemmed the inside layer 2 inches too short. They would not admit to wrong doing, then finally agreed to buy dress as the compensation. My mom was honest and brought the receipt instead of make them pay tag price and owner snatched her receipt and wouldn't make copy or give it back. When requested receipt back he became nearly combative screaming cursing and ripped up the receipt to the point where we almost had to involve the police, scary! Ultimately We had to find a new dress week before the wedding. Would avoid this place AT ALL COST! read more

Wow - like others who have posted, I can't believe the poor...correction, TOTAL LACK of customer service with Rip & Stitch. I had some simple baby pillows that I was trying to have sewn according to a diagram I had drawn. When I walked in I was treated like they were doing me a favor by waiting on me. Joan R's review has the conversation nailed: no smiles, no friendly greeting. One word responses with a frown. Downright ungrateful that I was in their place of business. And that was the service I got from a lady I presume to be the owner. One one occasion there was no one at the front counter and an older very unhappy seamstress begrudgingly walked up to help me, grumbling the whole way. She snapped at me "what do you want?". And then proceeded to act like my request was going to cause her all sorts of trouble. Worst of all, they missed every deadline for getting my project done, and had the gall to tell me the last time I stopped in to "cut the fabric myself - that would save them time and maybe they would be able to get it done faster". Oh, and if I did that, the price would stay the same as what they quoted me. Ridiculous! I took my materials and headed for another shop that will treat me like a customer...not an annoyance. It's always amazing to me when businesses do everything wrong and still manage to keep the doors open. Perhaps this one will wake up and see the light someday. read more
