When you go to a wax museum you expect the wax figures to be accurate to who there are representing and ... well here that's sorta not the case . First off the place is pretty small definitely lacking in superhero's in there superhero section . Also there is a religious section which is nice but sorta random . Also make sure you don't do the scary part of the museum which you have to pay separately for . The staff here are nice enough just wish you had some staff in the museum itself to give you a lil more info . The pricing here is a lil high it's $15 per person which is fine just for ok wax figures may not be worth it . Overall it's a wax experience. read more

I always Grow Up Loving wax museums but this one was disappointing. I don't feel that any of the black figures actually looked identical to the real people. On top of that they were also cashing materials and some of them didn't even bother using real hair but rather instead just moulded hair. As I am strolling down the walkway I am greeting by Black Panther. My heart gets excited because the replica is amazing. I can't say I won't make it to Wakanda but lest I can get close to its leader. I was like a kid on Christmas viewing the life of each stature feel "human". I give the artist much respect because each one was unique and worth the price of viewing. Came here for the first time with my kids. It's a bit pricey to get in, but there are package deals. Probably best to get the $65 all exhibit pass. There are a lot of wax figures and quite a bit that looks realistic. My kids and I enjoyed it especially the horror theme section. I would recommend any family to swing by. Ok, I have been to several wax museums in the past, and this one didn't make the cut (at least not initially). Upon entering, you see Michael Jackson, Madona, and a few other well-known celebrity wax figures, and they were ok, could have been better. But then I got to Will Smith, the Rock, and Morgan Freeman, I immediately wanted a refund. -- Fast forward, I got to a point where the scary/horror movie section was located, and I must say, and I was SCARED AS HELL. I literally fell twice from being so scared. This was probably the highlight of the entire thing! Before getting to the exit, you pass the Mexican culture and Jesus exhibits. These exhibits were ok. Long story short, the horror movie section made up for what this place was lacking. I would recommend with the expectation that some of the wax figures aren't the best. read more

This is part of Ripleys.. in the duo ticket I got.. One being the ripleys believe it or not and this was the wax museum. Once you walk in you see TAY TAY! (Taylor Swift) in a sparkly dress. Of course they had super hero crew and other themes. Twilight was one of them and other well known like Johnny Depp. They had some disney story area like cinderella, rapuzel, etc. I didn't like this one as much seemed a little boring but people who made the wax are very talented I give you that. There's a spooky section which I didn't go cause I'm a scardy cat and I hate horror things. Although my best guy friend is the only one who is able to make me sit through horror movies with him. Then I complain how I can't sleep... He loves horror. Now that he moved, I don't need to watch any! Phew. This was something I've looked forward to seeing for so long. I've always wanted to go to Madame Tussauds in Vegas (if it's still there). That bring said, I was excited to see there was a similar museum here. There were a few exhibits that were nice to see. Thor, The Hulk, the different fairytale friends... While I enjoyed Ripley's and the Moving Theater (see reviews), the Wax Museum was a real disappointment. I think I paid around $30 for tickets to Ripley's, the 4D Moving Theater, and the Wax Works combined. Prices were less for seniors and children. The wax museum had the usual suspects: a lot of celebrities, characters from movies, etc. There were some interesting interpretations of children's story books and the Passion of the Christ section that had several depictions of significant Biblical events. The problem is that a lot of the figures looked nothing like their living representations (the Ellen Degeneres in particularly was nothing close to the living person except for the hair). Additionally, we noticed several blemishes and issues with the figures, including a couple of fingers that had broken off. Comparing this to other wax museums I have visited is no contest. We were definitely underwhelmed and will not return. read more

It's worth the while since I never really go downtown very often but it makes you appreciate the city and the attractions it has to offer now I know how tourist feel sometimes. Had a great time and I honestly was surprised at how big the museum was. I was not expecting that much to view and such a wide array too! The only thing is that the haunted area is really really dark, unexpectedly dark, pitch black in some areas. And there were a few areas with strobe lights. If you are not expecting it, it's quite a shock. Also there are no warnings about it beforehand. This is troubling if you have epilepsy, like I do. I have to be fair, the larger named wax museums in New York or LA have the privilege of a live subject sitting for their artists so a proper sculpture can be created. This museum appears to have used photographs and other sources to create their figures. As a result, the likeness of the people featured is hit and miss. Overall, it is a nice collection of wax figures but could be better if more regular attention was given to the figures and the exhibits. For example, Marilyn Monroe was a very good likeness but her hair looks like she just entered the room off a windy street. The same could be said for the Last Supper exhibit, you couldn't see the face of the Christ figure because his hair had fallen over his face. Other places such as the American history section could use a little touch up, dust accumulation on the pilgrims' hat, wall scratches and worn placed on the trivia plaques make, what could be a fantastic display, look cheap and dirty. Like any other wax museums, it has a eerie and creepy feel but in a good way. The fairy tale section figures especially have that special, unintentional effect we all love about these kind of places. The horror exhibit has to be highlight of the tour, its dark, scary with the obligatory sudden loud sounds blasting you at just the right moment. It's not a very big place and the tour takes about 75 minutes if you take your time. The admission price is a little high, but it is in the tourist district, so that is to be expected. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $4-$5 for a combo and take in the Odditorium or one of the other Ripley attractions. Paying individually for just one is not a great value. read more

My first time ever visiting a wax museum and this one didn't make me regret it. I was just randomly walking by when i seen this place and decided to go with my gut feeling and walk in. Upon entrance you get to see some life sized wax works. Then when you enter there are plenty of celebrities that you may know of inside. They had 3 different Michael Jacksons(the true King of Pop) which was really cool and one of my favorite wax works. One of my other favorite parts was the horror hall, which was a bit scary for children that were walking through, but just a little frightening for some other adults. I thought that it was great for tourists to check out and I'd definitely recommend going to this place if you happen to be down at the river walk or visiting the Alamo. Personally, I would pass on this. I've been to Madam Tussaud's in Vegas and idk who Louis is but they're like the "off brand" version and it shows in the wax figures. None of the Wax Figures really look like the people they're portraying, you kind of figure out who they're supppossedddd to be by the outfits they have on. For example, you'll notice (or maybe you won't depending on your age) the outfit from Beverly Hills Cop that Eddie Murphy wore or the all black suit and you assume it's Will Smith from Men in Black, but a lot of the wax figures are not all that convincing. Beyond that the flow is weird. There's movies, tv shows and late night then kids stories then religious and some of those like that kids stories the characters definitely don't resemble anything you're familiar with. So basically you'll use context clues - clothing, backgrounds/settings, etc. to determine what they were tryingggg to create. Not worth the money IMO. read more

The wax works is next to Ripley's and also was part of my school group's visit. The figures are so lifelike you think they're going to greet you. If you want to go to this museum they do offer a two museum package for $24.00 , so we also went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum which is a lot of fun and interesting. read more
