We had so much fun here! This was my first experience at a Ripley's Believe it or Not, and it was actually so much cooler than I had expected. It is a little pricey, but they offered us military discount as my husband and I are both veterans. And there is also so much for kids of all ages to do that, It will keep them occupied for hours! I brought my son who is 15 and my daughter who is 7 and they both equally ran around excited and curious for hours. The museum is completely interactive so the kids could touch and explore everything. Every corner was a new awe inspiring moment. And the staff also made the experience top tier. They were interactive with the kids and would ask them if they saw certain artifacts throughout the museum. Truly a great experience! read more

Ok, first off, I've been to the old location before they made the move to the old Wizard's Quest building so I know what that place looked like. I'm not a local so I don't know why they moved and left a perfectly styled Indiana Jones temple lookalike vacant and empty but I digress. My mom really wanted to come and so we decided to give the new location a try since things were supposed to be new and updated. They did not lie about that. Things have been updated but most of the really quirky and museumy stuff unfortunately has gotten the boot it seems. In place of those items are now quirky and unique art projects, slippy slides, neon walls, and a scavenger hunt. I found the theming a bit off, they basically put artifacts in closet spaces to accommodate the weird rooms that were once Wizard's Quest. Don't get me wrong, the kids loved it and we spent probably 1.5 - almost 2 hours here but that was because we had kids who wanted to slide and crawl and climb everything. Adults might get through in an hour and that might be generous. I really do miss the weird museum stuff though. The spooky dark halls, musty rooms, and dimly lit cabinets. Now that was eerie and that was the Ripley's I remember as a kid. The theming here just doesn't quite fit with oddities. It's more of a quirky art gallery with a few severed heads thrown in. The Wisconsin Dells Ripley's recently changed locations and is now in the old Wizard Quest building. And, despite adding a new name on the signage, it feels like the owners did the bare minimum to actually transom this space into a Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum. Remnants of the space's life as Wizard Quest can be seen everywhere in the form of colorful paint jobs, annoying slides visitors have to use to get from room to room and a tacky mirror maze. Now I could forgive all this if this attraction actually had what we were promised -- strange and unusual artifacts. Alas, aside from a few fun knick knacks like a severed head here and pole dancing mouse taxidermy there, there were barely any items on display in this "museum." This literally felt like a highway robbery and I'm peeved. The old location was so much better! read more

Very small but still entertaining. Little overpriced for size. Did not like the grated floors. But overall fun experience.

Total joke overpriced tried to just reuse all the old wizard quest stuff. Biggest oddity is you don't get a map your told take picture of there's I can see the waste of paper but why not laminate ones and have place to return so can just keep reusing them. As a local I say new spot total fail. Hope your big plans for the Bartlett property aren't a joke like this read more

Went last year with 10yr old brother. He was scared of a lot of stuff but that might just be him haha. I thought it was super cool but is probably best for older kids and adults. It's in a nice spot with lots of parking and was busy but didn't feel like it. read more

Had a blast here as a group of two adults. Unexpected but very appreciated. Tickets are on the pricier side but for the fun we had, very worth it. We'd recommend doing the scavenger hunt - it was a cool way to explore the museum and the prize, though meagre, was certainly appreciated. If I had to nitpick, some areas seem to be needing some upkeep, and the gift shop clerk seemed unhappy whenever we interacted with her. The front desk/ticketing clerk was more friendly and seemed more excited to explain the attraction. Bonus is there was no wait to get in (on a weekend evening, at least). Overall would recommend if you're in the area looking for something to do! read more

I guess this museum consists of bizarre things and artifacts, and while interesting the admission fee is over priced. It took about 1 hour to walk through the whole museum ( depends on how long you personally take to view each exhibit). The place is dark and a bit creepy. I don't see myself spending money on this place again. It has a lot of intriguing things but I'm not sure they have any real value like items within a traditional museum. read more

What a complete waste of money. For two adults the total was $47. The beginning was so jammed pack with people that all you wanted to do was move on and get out of the area. You didn't know if you were smelling the "musty/dirty" room or the people inside of it. With that said, there were a few "neat" things to look at but overall not worth the price of admission. We were in/out in about 30 min! I could see this being an "ok" attraction for maybe $10, but not $25! read more

We found it to be too expensive for what it's worth. It felt more like an art museum with weird facts. My 11 year old liked it, but left frustrated because the scavenger hunt was fun, but too difficult. If we can do it over it would've only been one parent supervising the kids. Short version: Worth it if you have the extra money to spend or someone else is paying, but don't expect more than an hour's worth of entertainment. It's interesting, but it's probably one of the few things in the Dells that I've done that I might classify as a "tourist trap". If it was less than $5, I'd say "definitely!" but for over $15 per person, it's pricey. Long version: I've been to the Dells a couple times now, and I've never gone. Mostly, it's the high ticket prices that keep me from going, but as I was solo and nobody could tell me otherwise this time, I decided to go. First off, the staff seemed friendly. He seemed bored as this was off-season, but he did seem nice. Their credit card machine was broken, so I had to cough up the $16 for a standard ticket in cash. Despite looking, I didn't see any coupons that I could tip you off about. The employee was friendly enough, when I inquired about going on the "Wizard Quest add-on adventure" to let me know that a huge group of 30+ kids had just went in, so I might not find it too enjoyable right now, and I could come back later. I appreciate him being honest with me. The exhibit itself was okay. Like, I guess I was expecting a lot more. Each "room" had a theme to it which was neat. There was an entire room that was a bedroom covered in duck tape. Every surface was duck taped. There's a bathroom inside the museum, and you can "double-back" to the bathroom if need be throughout your journey. Other rooms included money-themed rooms, torture-themed areas, shark-themed area, weapon-themed area, mutated animals themed area, and others. For the most part, the exhibits are entirely reading. There are neat items and small descriptions/explanations posted near the items. You're supposed to read about the items and learn. There are a couple videos with subtitles throughout the area, but it's mostly reading. I found it slightly frustrating to figure out "how" I was supposed to get around. As the museum was pretty much empty aside from me (I didn't see anyone until the gift shop), in some areas, the "path" wasn't clear. If people were obviously moving around, I don't think it'd be an issue, but there are a lot of "hidden" things you can miss if you aren't paying attention. For example, there's a small doorway that lets you go "inside" one of the cages in the torture exhibit. You can also look inside or interact with some exhibits. The entire museum was designed to be the "general" area with kids running around. I found it really odd that the torture devices were considered under this "general" umbrella. HOWEVER, if you pay attention, there's a small fireplace-looking area that says "Mature Audiences Only". It leads up a tight spiral staircase to a hidden upstairs area with more graphic photos of people being pierced by spears as well as beheadding replicas of heads and others. This area is super-duper not designed not to be child-friendly, but it also wasn't insanely graphic either. For those with kids, the gift shop does offer a couple items at $1 if your child would like a souvenir and you don't want to pay a ton. I learned a couple new things, and it was enjoyable to do, but I feel a bit disappointed by the cost-to-reward ratio. It didn't feel like nearly enough things to do to justify the entrance cost. I wouldn't really recommend anyone else do it unless you really have a thing for Ripley's. read more

I used to LOVE Ripleys Believe it or not, it was a family staple, we visited it every year (sometimes multiple times during the year) however they opened up the new Ripleys where Wizard Quest used to be and it's the most disappointing thing we've seen. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful but they said they only brought in 10% of the actual oddities from the previous Ripley Believe it or Not which becomes evident when you go in. Now it's just a weird Wizard Quest knock off. We used to enjoy reading about all the oddities...now you mainly just see taxidermy animals that you have to find for their scavenger hunt. The oddities have been replaced by pop culture paintings and art. As adults without kids we had no desire to continuously go down a slide, go through ball pit, and CRAWL through a tunnel to find stuff. They literally used the old Wizard Quest set up and replaced the Wizard Quest decorations with pop culture and taxidermy animals. It's also NOT disability friendly, it's gonna be almost impossible to walk through here with a cane or wheelchair so definitely double check with them. I had boots on and they dont have a solid floor on top, they have a grated floor with holes so my heel literally got stuck in the grate and my family had to help me get out of it. I really miss the old Ripleys and sadly, we won't be back =( read more

I have several Ripley's Believe or Not books at home and so when my mom said that there was a museum, I wanted to go. I enjoyed it ! I liked all the exhibits but some of the exhibits were too scary for my nine-year-old and six-year-old sisters. We spent the whole morning there. We learned a lot too and saw art made of toast, fingernails, duct tape and more. We saw REAL shrunken heads and REAL torture devices. There's five secret exhibits and four secret passage ways. I would tell you where they are but my mom says no. If you're ever in Wisconsin Dells, I would recommend visiting it even if you've never heard of Ripley's Believe It or Not. - 11 year old boy read more

My boys are young, 5 and 6, but with the reviews my mom, their grandma, thought it would be good since, per the reviews, the older ages got some interest out of it. Within the first 5 minutes my younger son didn't like it and was scared of the exhibit. They left right away, didn't go any further, and on the way out my mom told the worker that it was a waste of time for them. The worker responded only with a "oh". They were on the premises no more than 10 total minutes and paid $50. In my personal opinion I understand maybe not a full refund to be given, but at least a refund for the 2 kids, or something of the kind. But customer service upon leaving was non-existent. read more

I've expected little more, considering reviews I read and stories I heard. Don't take me wrong, the place is interesting to visit and there are quite a few unusual exhibits, however, $15 a person is a little bit too much for what you see. The entire trip through takes about 30 min, if you really explore.. I was walking a bit slow, because atmosphere makes you think something will jump off somewhere and scare you, which happened when the visitor 5 feet in front of me opened a hanging toilet lid on the wall (don't do that). The lady at the front was nice and she explained everything very clearly. Duct tape room was unusual and fun, although dont try the bed, it isn't soft:) I also liked Puma shoe cow, if you are reading this it wont tell you much, so I will attach a picture of it. As well the quest room with these "sign-switches" was entertaining too.. I like quests, even small ones. So overall, it would've been at least 4 stars for under - 9$. read more

Put it on your rainy day agenda in the Dells. Fun, intriguing, unusual exhibition of human and animal oddities. Minimum age of interest I would estimate at 12 years old. Younger than this would likely not understand the exhibits or their significance. Not much walking involved. Some secret rooms to explore....and find. Some reading involved with just about every exhibit. Fun and interesting for fans of this genre. Tip: go in the evening after 8pm. Mostly empty and more atmospheric. read more

NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE!!! Paid $85 for four people, one with a broken foot on a knee scooter. They charged up full price and never had the audacity to inform us before we paid that they have no elevator or ramps. After finishing the first floor we had to go back to the front and has to ask if there was an elevator, where they informed us handicap can only go to the first floor. Those that are handicap, in strollers, in wheelchairs, etc. are out of luck. No way for them to get onto the second or third floor. Don't waste your money!!! read more

We went today. I was very nervous due to all the reviews but I had several kids in different age groups so I took my chance. We had a few kids who didn't want to go. It turned out everyone 16-2 enjoyed themselves. I have been to Ripley's in NYC and San Francisco this one is a bit smaller than those but it had a lot of exhibits. The duct tape room was pretty cool! This Ripley's is a bit on the small side and still has the same cost as the others which is a con. But I love Ripley's museums so if you are a fan of others, then try this one too. It has a few hidden paths and secret items which is fun for the older kids to do while you read the exhibits. I like the Indiana Jones looking area. My family had a great time. Not a "must do" but if you want something kitschy and fun it's a great option. Think of it as a modern sideshow/museum (without live acts), but actual shrunken heads, 2 headed sheep, a geep (yes it's a real animal), and all kinds of weird stuff. See if you can find a coupon - we couldn't find one in the free coupon brochure but dig online, get on a mailing list, search Groupon for deals. Tips: Take your time, read things. Touch! Look for secret passages on each side of Vlad the Impaler (there are 2) and press on the stake in his heart! In the final tomb looking room - stand on the pedestal, press the jewels and follow the directions given for a great finale. The kids will love this place - for us it was "eh" as many are reproductions but good kitschy fun. read more

I grew up reading Ripley's and watching the shows. This is a fun place. It took about an hour to get through with lots of fun exhibits. If you like the macabre or unique things you will like this place. It is expensive but, I assumed that going to any place at the Dells. I found staff to be helpful and a little unusual just like it should be for a place like this. read more

Took my two sons there (5/9) and had a good time for about an hour or so. If it was busy it would been less enjoyable but we went in December so it wasn't very busy at all so we could move through it at our own pace which was enjoyable. There was a lot to see but you kind of have to read the placards to get what it is you're looking at and maybe explain it to the kids. The story is that it is all stuff Ripley collected while traveling the world back in the 40's or 50's or something. It's kind of expensive but good luck going on vacation in the Dells and not expecting to spend some. read more

This is pretty expensive for what it is 14.99 for adults/ 9.99 kids 5-11/ free for kids 4 and under but that being said the kids really enjoyed it. My son is a fan of the books so when he saw the museum on the strip he was dying to check it out. I think there is a coupon available somewhere but I am not sure where. Maybe look through the magazines and books or ask your hotel desk. This museum is based on the old tv show and now the books. Some of the facts are real and some are made up. You will have to do the research yourself to find out which are real and fake. It has multiple levels and hidden passages throughout. There is a section in the middle with a bunch of little dark rooms. There is a symbol above each entrance. Look for the symbol hidden in each room and press it for a hidden artifact. I would not do this again for myself but the kids enjoyed it enough that I may consider it in another city if the displays are different. read more

My boyfriend and I went here on a chilly wet day. If you can't do too much outside then you might as well look at deformed creatures/humans inside! I think this would be a good place to bring kids. It's interactive and certainly interesting. It is considerably a large exhibit too. They had a lot of original artifacts as well as recreations. I think we spent almost 2 hours in here? My biggest complaint, however, is that it seemed a little dark and dingy. The whole place had a bit of a musty smell. I understand that it's been around for a while and must really suck to clean and maintain, but after I had gone through the place I felt like I needed to shower. And cleanse my sinuses. read more
