Don't waste your money on this. The ghost boat is terrible. this is not scary at all, even to the kids. They have teenagers running this whole thing from the "actors" to the boat captain (who was very skilled btw) and it's like they don't even try. Theres about 8 actors total and all that most of them do is randomly yell or role play as rude with no hint of creepy or frightening. They just yell and tell you to move along like a prison movie lol. EVERYTHING sucks from the subpar decor, lights and acting to the awful prerecorded story line that winds up making no sense in the end. We all left feeling ripped off and agreed we should've just went on a regular boat tour during the day so we could actually have seen the beautiful scenery. We went on the 7:45pm boat. Sometimes you can see the stars which is beautiful. Maybe the 8:15 one would've shown the stars more clear. The ghost tour was fun. They used to have more lights and props but they didn't seem to be on. Regardless the actors made the experience worthwhile. read more

It's not scary at all. Totally hyped, I visited in 2017 for first time and damn it scared shit out of me but during my recent visit I felt like maybe it's good for kids. I would recommend to have some ear buds as actors keep screaming near to your ears. Boat will take 15 mins and it maybe pitch dark so won't be that fun. I went with me, my daughter and my niece .... For my experience, I personally enjoyed it the actors was not scary, but it was really dark. Being that I'm a person who broke my ankle before that was the scary part for me. I couldn't see in front of me and it was gravel hike so the whole experience with me try not to re-break a ankle. Not for my niece and my daughter they did not enjoy it being dark or the actors they were very scared and complain about the walk they thought we would be more on the boat. Great experience! We rode on the top level of the boat. The view of the lake was beautiful. They played a recording of a ghost story. The canyon walk was also beautiful. The first part of the walk is just a walk, nothing spooky; to be honest, it was nice, and the entire walk could have just been a walk in the dark, and I would have been happy. First, my 8 year old son loved it. So, that made the expense worth it. Second, I really thought the walk down the boardwalk in the woods at night was thrilling. The actors gave it their all in spite of a band of idiotic 20 somethings shouting profanity at them and hitting on the female cast members. It was a joy to ride the boat at night. I've traveled to 47 of the United States.. I've done so many touristy things I've thought hard and still agree with myself. This was by far the worst for your value of money and time. Short boat ride into a slot canyon that I'm sure is beautiful in daylight. This is a theatrical venue. It was very fun and definitely gave me and my fam a good scare but I would not do it again just because it was fun once but the actors did get all up on are faces and one of the actresses was touching my daughter and put them on the ground and would not leave her alone. I went on my first day at the Dells in a while. I saw it when I was going to do it I was on a day trip and I thought hey, a ghost book might be fun. I didn't really do any research before me and my family win, and I would not recommend it, the boat ride was in total 20 minutes. The rest of the time was on a nature trail. It should not be called a Ghost Boat. It should be called a ghost trail when I went I took the 845 show and it by the time we landed back on sure it was 11 something me and my family we did not do any research so we were completely blindsided when he saw that they were scary actors and they weren't touching us, but it felt like they were very close to touching us, and they lady did say we could turn back at any time and me and my cousin got so scared that we decided to turn around on the halfway mark but she refused to let us turn back she then informed us that they had glow sticks that you could use to say no that you did not long to be scared. There were little kids, crying and screaming out of fear. There were people shaking in the audience, and she decided at the halfway point to only tell us and when we got the glow sticks, needed, they do refuse to scare us, but it was so dark, we could not see anything. There was a part where we were in like kind of a mirror maze, and there was fog, and all we could see was the glow sticks. If we didn't have those glow sticks, we would've been scared out of our mind. And on the boat ride there they played this random little video of a guy talking and that was all the story. There was no overarching story. It was basically like a haunted house. It was a haunted trail basically and at the halfway mark, there was just a random ghost, but that was it. This boat was absolutely rancid. The boat drivers are 15 years old, we weren't told we had to walk to far with no water, no food. it was terrible. Honestly don't spend your money here what a waste. Fun boat ride and haunted hike through the Dells. Well organized and a lot of fun! Very reasonably priced, especially paired with one of the many Dells coupons. Involved a fair amount of walking on a mostly paved path. The boat ride to the hiking trail was beautiful at sunset and totally creepy on the return in the dark. read more

Super fun haunted boat tour! We did the upper dells boat tour during the day and wanted to come back for more at night. We left at dusk after a storm, and there was still fog on the water which added to the ambience. The dells is very beautiful at dusk, if you've done the daylight trip you owe it to yourself to try the ghost tour! One you disembark for the walking portion, you're treated to a beautiful nighttime stroll on a boardwalk and paved paths through cool dells sandstone landscape, until you hit Whiskey Dan's haunted portion. Then you're treated to a top notch haunted house style show with live actors, set in the natural and creepy wooded Wisconsin Dells at night. If you're a fan of haunted houses, night boat rides, or nature walks at night, this trip is an absolute steal. We'll be back for fall colors and Halloween! It's worth mentioning, we had someone with us on crutches that needed extra time to get around, and the staff was courteous and accommodating before, during, and after the tour. read more

A 15 minute boat ride to hike in the woods. If you are on the earlier ride there may be enough light to see some of the canyon on the way in but you really can't see anything on the way back out. I knew you had to hike going in to this but it was as the scary so to me it really was just a mile or so hike in the woods. Some of the actors were in to it, others just stood there. Everyone is released at the start so it really just is a crowd wandering down a trail until you get to the turn around point and then your sent back in small groups. Even in the smaller groups it's not much of a scare. I like the idea, location, and concept of it but felt it lacked the execution of it. This was a little cheesy. Spent 94.00 for 4 tickets, was expecting a little more than what we got.Went on the boat ride at 8:15 so pretty much completely dark. Could not see some of the actors at all so no idea what they were supposed to be. Your packed in with approx 50 people so the scare factor is not even there most of the time. Don't waste your time. You wait in long lines before, during and after the boat. The actors weren't even dressed nor looked like they cared for it. It's cheap lights and costumes. You're on a boat for 10 mins with horrible goose bumps audio then they make you hike for about 30 mins in the dark, nothing really spooky, you have to wait on everyone else to get done which took 20 mins just to walk to the boat then wait again another 20 mins by the boat. The some of the workers were nice. At the end they give you pictures they took of you before the ride, they don't tell you, you have to pay $20 till you're at the door. Totally misleading. It is a 15 minute boat ride in the dark to a canyon where you then hike theough the canyon that is set up as a bad haunted house. This wasn't worth the money. You sit on the boat for Twenty minutes for the 150 other people to get on(there's two boats), ride the boat for 20 minutes and you walk through the forest for about 10 minutes then stand at the end of the forest for everyone else to get through. Currently writing this as I'm waiting to walk back to the boat. There are so many people that you don't even get scared because you can see everyone else in the huge line in front of you gettting scared. You're paying to stand in lines for more than half of the time!!!! People at the end aren't even getting scared because they are just so over it. read more

This was fun! My 10 year old and soon to be 6 year old were not overly scared and enjoyed the "zombies". Really beautiful piece of property that it's located on. Only gripe is the waiting. Once you go through the haunted walk you have to wait for the other groups (that road on other boats) catch up with you to turn and go back and then wait again for them to catch up to load back on the boat. This was a very interesting activity. The boat ride to the canyon had a very unique ghost story playing over the speaker. The actors were amazing.
