I'm probably going to get a lot of backlash for this but I have been using Risco (Mark Barry) for about 20 years. Major problems have been dealt with efficiently and reasonably. Just recently I needed a lot of work done on my Country Coach. All the airbags were getting old, steering needed help, leveling system wasn't working properly and on and on. The work was done and I am very satisfied. Risco worked very hard with Good Sam to get my items covered under my contract. I feel very confident when I deal with them. Mark knows motor homes inside and out and has one himself. At another shop that I had recently gone to for an oil change (closer to home), they forgot four quarts of oil, left a rag on top of the motor and fixed an item that immediately went bad due to no lubrication. read more

Risco is top notch. Mark and his staff are great. However not the cheapest but cheap can be expensive. All the repairs to my country coach where done professionally better then factory. I highly recommend Risco. Fair and honest. While not "cheap" their quality is fantastic. We bought a new gas RV from another dealer in southern NJ with issues from day 1. We decided to have Risco take care of all our repairs and maintenance since we were tired of being cheated. Their repairs were quality - they spent the time to teach us how to use the new RV and stood by their work. So happy with them. Disgusting owner/boss, I pulled into the lot because I had a flat tire and didn't want to have to have it changed on the side of the road. The owner had me kicked out of the lot, mind you I was riding on my rim, not a single molecule of air in my tire. As if this piece of crap place had any business going on at all at 1pm on a Tuesday. Googled the place and see they barely have 2 stars, and basically have 1 star here on Yelp, makes sense when it's run by an asshole. read more

Simply the worst place you could bring your RV. They are not qualified to work on many engines and transmissions (certainly not Cummins or Allison). So forget about having them fix minor engine, transmission, steering, brakes, chaises, alignment, etc. issues. Simple maintenance on these complex rigs maybe within their ability. I wouldn't take anything to these people. Find a truck dealer to handle the drive train. For things inside your rig's cabin, you'd be better off driving it to a camp ground with a visiting repair person. When they inspect things, they always find something wrong, even if they have to break your RV to find it. This last visit, they extended a tear on some heat shielding during the inspection. One time they tried to charge me to repair a hatch that they left open on a prior repair. Another time they lost a part of a cabinet they needed to open to make a repair. Another time they lied to me about a tire replacement stating that the model tire I needed was no longer made. It was in fact the most common Goodyear truck tire. After these initial issues, I only took my rig there if it was something easy to fix in the rig cabin. Unfortunately they were the closest to my old home. This last visit I needed a pipe fixed. I say needed because it was the main drain on the sink and I was going to be driving for a few days to a week. Not complex. I asked for a few estimates and asked them to inspect for any problems since I was moving from NJ to Texas. Anyway, after weeks, they finished. I was running out of time. So I went to pick it up. They wouldn't release my RV to me without me signing off. Well I had to go, so I signed. MISTAKE! I was charged for work they didn't do. I was charged for work that failed. I was charged for estimates. Some of their repairs damaged other items in the RV. They lost parts to the RV. They were unable to install windshield wipers. I had to do it hen I got on the road. I was charged for work that was faked and have since been done correctly in Texas. I was misled as to the hourly rate. Nice. I complained to Risco and the credit card company. Despite the fact that they lied to me and coerced me to sign off, that was the weapon they used to make me pay. They offered to repair the issues if I bring the rig back. I'm 1500 miles away and it would cost over $1000 in fuel and 4 days to go back and have more of their their shoddy workmanship fail again. NOTE: They used to be located in Atlantic Highlands. This company looks impressive from the road but they inflate their repair service charges. An example was they charged us 83.00 to check and inflate the spare tire under the rv. They gave an estimate of $560.00 and when we came back the bill was $998.00! They also required a deposit of $260.00 before starting any work. Based on what little they did that should have been ALL they charged for labor. $130.00 in parts and the rest of the bill was all inflated labor charges. Would never recommend this company to anyone. Been using Risco since 1996. I have had successively larger and larger and more complex vehicles but have always gotten the same great service. They always treat you like you are their only customer. They always deal with the extended warranty claims and get them paid. If your realistic with the time frames you give them they always complete the work on time. I wish I would have read the other reviews on this page before taking my coach to Risco. They are as everyone on here says, dishonest, and zero customer service. The service manager Karen is worthless to say the least. She is responsible for charging customers hours worth of labor for work that needs not nearly that amount. When they do fix your coach, they do temporarily fixes with silicone. They do not replace the broken items or tell you parts need to be ordered, they doctor up the fix and then charge you like they made permanent replacements. All of this is the oversight of Karen and the owners and they know what they are doing to rip off customers. Take your RV to Gerber RV in Hackensack, NJ. They will do the actual work and do it right. Their customer service is great, they are open and honest with their customers. DO NOT take your RV to Risco. You will pay more than you ever should, they won't fix your issue- they love just glueing things on and next thing you know your headlight falls off because they glued it back on. I contracted them to repair my RVs floor. They cut into the aluminum frame during the process of replacing the water damaged subfloor. They repaired the floor frame with epoxy, ( structural damage can not be repaired with epoxy). During the repair the tech went throught the styrofoam insulation and underbelly membrane. They tried to say their was previous work done to cover there poor workmanship. Once I started to question them they began back tracking and stumbling to come up with excuses. Ultimately they left my rv completely unfinished. The vinyl floor wasn't secured, couch left unbolted with carpet not stapled down. The bolsters were removed and left laying on the top bunk, saw dust everywhere with black caulking on the storage cabinet. They also cut the vinyl floor right in the middle. When I said you didn't finish the job Karen replied "we are not going to work on it any further". The owner Mark tried to pass himself off as a Tech when I first questioned him , I pressed him on their claims of previous work his lack of knowledge was staggering. He couldn't even make sense so he left to get an actual tech. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS, they will try to rob and cheat you. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Fortunately, I never even got my RV near the place. Karen in service was nice enough on the phone. I tried to book an appointment to get an estimate for a large amount of renovation work. I was told that the owner was away on vacation and that I would have to wait until his return. I took the appointment that was offered. Then a couple of days later, I received a call from someone in service who wanted to change the appointment date. I declined. There was no call back from them. When I called today, Tara was surly and argumentative, not understanding what customer service is. I told her that I was so happy that Risco was doing so well that they could afford to not take on a multiple thousand dollar project. I am so happy that I did not become involved with this third rate organization. Especially when reading the other recent comments of other customers who were unfortunate enough to actually have their RV serviced by them. I wish every potential customer could read these comments and be forewarned! read more

As in other review , you Risk at Risco, if I could give negative I would, Service Manager not friendly, they do not return calls , Customer Service does not exist. I had an item to be replaced under 3rd party Maintenance, this was simple residential refrigerator, when they came back with the service order they requested 8 hours to replace, the warranty company allowed 4 hours, Risco wanted me to pay the other 4 hours, the overage cost, shop supplies and shipping, all of this based on an estimate, my response was that they were charging me more than the unit itself, they called back and said best we could estimate is 5 hours. I asked what was involved in 5 hours of install since the old unit was removed, they started to describe to replace hoses , insulation and whatever else that may occur, keep in mind this is a regular refrigerator no propane no ice maker, it is simple fits through the door, put in place , screw in 4 bolts, all of which they know since they told me they already removed the unit. At this point I wrote an email to describe my situation, their response was come pick up your unit and that I owe them for 2 hours. Forget this place. Horrible reputation upheld. Tried to set up an RV OIL CHANGE. Sounds simple? I only wanted an oil change, filter and fuel filters for my class A. I can get Freightliner to do it for $499.99 and they'll do a variety of checks for free as well as using synthetic Rotella oil. After two phone calls just to get someone to return a call an hour after the second call, it became obvious they don't give a c--p about c/s. The advisor had to get off the phone twice to "check with a manager"(?). I could only get the oil and filter change if I agreed to a "full service" costing somewhere north of $800.00 and couldn't even get an exact price quote unless I physically drove it there - an hour away! Right, that's what I'll do. I offered to provide make, model, VIN, filter part numbers or anything else they would need so as NOT to drive it there first . No deal. Not after reading multiple negative reviews. Oh, Camping World offered to do just the oil and filter only for $189.99 and if you want to bring your own synthetic they discount the charge for oil. I brought my soft ice cream truck to have a leaky roof repaired in July. A month later I picked the truck up and paid $2,400 for the roof repair. When I left their parking lot, the roof leaked on my head so I returned it to them. Long story short, I picked the truck up after they said it was repaired and the roof was still leaking so I returned it for a third time. This time they tried to charge me over $300 to repair the roof which I refused to pay because they should have fixed it the first time around. After much negotiating they agreed to drop the labor fee and I agreed to pay the $100 in supply costs. I picked up the truck this past Saturday, pulled out of their driveway and the roof leaked on my head again. I went back to Risco once again, only this time Mark said there was nothing more they could do and he no longer wanted me as a customer. I am outraged that I paid more than $2,500 to repair the roof leaks and am no better off than I was before I went there. They are a total rip off and I plan on pursuing all means necessary to obtain a refund. read more
