Master Kim is the best Grand Master who learned authentic TKD while growing up in South Korea. I have entrusted him with my daughters for over 11 years. One of the best little secrets in St. Louis!

I have known and…read morebeen associated with Master Kim and his school, since he started in 2011, when he started out in Webster Groves. Many even know I've supported them for years on social media. Thus, I pass all of this with a heavy heart. I feel an obligation to pass this, as a lot has been overlooked, and as a parent, I've been concerned for my children's safety, and mental well-being while attending the afterschool and Summer camps the past 2 years. I have always been a supporter of his school for TKD, and their recent expansion for the AFTERSCHOOL and now SUMMER Camp program. I will say to parents - send your children at your OWN RISK. I am not speaking of his regular TKD classes, which still instructs their students in the TKD style they are known for. For example, their staff during these programs are minors. They are not accredited childcare providers, I don't even believe they are CPR/First Aid Certified to name one that should be obvious. Yes, they have adults on staff but the adults don't even have their "eyes" on our children during the day. They have installed security cameras recently, but these do not replace "supervision" which it has lacked. My recent concern is of the "minor" instructors being reported to "hit" our children. This, in my book is a red flag. That instructors do not have the maturity to understand "appropriate" behavior with our children. The school has also notified me (2 weeks before school starting and paying the registration fee early) that my child has now been "waitlisted" for the afterschool program (2025 school year) because they "short-staffed," and this message was passed by the staff to me, after asking them to investigate these acts of "hitting" by the caretakers. Unacceptable. Therefore, parents, if you see "red flags" it's probably true. "Trust your gut" and I'm truly disheartened by this school and the management. Again, I am not negative on obtaining education in TKD. I do myself, possess a Black Belt in TKD and have always been a fan of #minoritybuisnesses and #martialarts. I am not a fan of lack of supervision when it comes to child-care/afterschool/camp, which is so unfortunate in this case.

I have personally trained 8,000+ students during that time and I know everyone of them can easily defend themselves if they had to in any situation. I have attended 60+ Taekwondo competitions in the midwest and handed out thousands of trophies to winners of various events and Park's Martial Arts students take an inordinately large number of 1st Place wins. Grandmaster Tae Hyen Park is an 8th degree, 8th Dan, Black Belt certified by the Kukkiwon in Korea and teaches every day of the work week at his two schools in St. Louis. Some of Grandmaster Park's students have started their own schools. In those 21 years at Parks I have watched 10+ Martial Arts schools in the area go out of business - you do not want to start your training at a school that hasn't been in business at least 10 years. You want to stay with the same Grandmaster during all of your training. Grandmaster Park has promoted 10 Master Instructors who have trained with him for at least 15 years each; each started as a white-belt at his schools. Students at Parks range from 5 year olds to 70 year olds - there are specific kids classes that are fun for the kids while they learn how to defend themselves. There are adults only classes and full contact heavy duty classes taught only by Grandmaster Park. About 20% of our students are part of a family unit, brothers and sister, mom and dad and even grandpa. Taekwondo is a sport that the entire family can have fun learning as the kids grow up. Grandmaster Park is one of just a handful of Grandmasters in America that can train you from a white-belt to a 4th degree black belt - a Master Instructor. Grandmaster Park's curriculum is 100% identical to that taught at the Kukkiwon in Korea - the only difference is that English is the primary language here instead of Korean. So if you want to be trained by a Korean Grandmaster who has built two thriving schools I invite you to drop by one of his schools and see for yourself - don't just accept rumors on the internet - it takes just a few minutes to find out that Taekwondo taught by Grandmaster Park can change your life forever. I started here about 11 years ago when my 2 boys were little, we took some time off and then came back about 3 years ago-am I glad we did! We all got our 1st degree black belts 2 years ago, and my 17 year old son and I just got our 2d degree. It's great to have something that a 53 year old mom can still do with her 17 year old son. It has been an inspiration for me to watch him grow from a little boy beginner to now being a full instructor. That's one thing I really like about Park's Martial Arts, it's for almost anyone. Students from little kids to teenagers to those just out of college to parents are all able to reach their full abilities at this school. Special needs kids also take classes. Even though there are many different abilities, everyone can get a great workout. And, no matter what ability you have, discipline and respect are expected from everyone.

It was fantastic seeing the kids have so much fun, burn some energy, and learn a few new tricks and skills. Mr & Mrs Howard and the instructors did a tremendous job and I am so happy/pleased the party went off without a hitch. I absolutely love this Taekwondo studio and how the owners are not only attentive/patient with the kids but want to take a moment to rave how this studio has built such a great thing for our community, the kids have a fun/safe space to learn new things, grow, and the families are super helpful and supportive of each other. I am so happy my kid has grown so much here and hoping for more opportunities to come. Thank you.!

He loves the program as well as my husband and I do too. The whole team is awesome. Mrs. Howard is very detailed and great at communicating everything to us about the program and upcoming schedule. Mr. Howard is an awesome teacher. He is so patient (more than I would ever be teaching kids) and knowledgeable of Martial Arts and training. His crew is also top notch. Mr. Ali and Mr. Bucholtz have been with the program since my son has started (1 1/2 years ago) and very dedicated to the classes they teach. Mr. Graffiths brings high energy to the class and the kids are very engaged when he teaches. We are so glad we continued with the program and new ownership. Thank you so much!
