After going through the Better Business Bureau due to the experience I had with this company, I was…read morefinally able to have some resolution, thanks a very nice man who actually heard me out. I would still be cautious about purchasing eReaders from this company, but if you do decide to, make sure you are aware of the return policy (no returns under any circumstances). Also, don't count on customer service to be of much help, if you have a problem make sure to ask for a manager or director to speak to directly. The nice man who helped me (I am not exactly sure what his job title is, other than some type of director) listened to my situation and tried his best to help me fix the problem, not just for me but also for all the other students in my class that purchased an eReader. He let me know issues such as the one I had are rare and not typical of their company. I'd like to believe this is true.

Avoid! Uses fake tracking numbers to lock you out of refunds. Absolute nightmare customer service…read more My student ordered an essential textbook weeks before classes started. They immediately collected our money but failed to fulfill the order because they operate on a delayed print-on-demand model. When we requested a cancellation due to the delay, they instantly generated a bulk USPS shipping label to status-change the order to "shipped" in order to lock us out of our refund rights under their rigid "all sales final" policy. The official USPS tracking remained stuck at "Package Acceptance Pending" for days because they never physically handed the book over to the post office. When confronted, customer service admitted they didn't even know where the book was, blamed a third-party "publishing partner," and demanded we pay out-of-pocket to mail back a book we never received just to get our money back. We had to force a bank chargeback to get our funds returned. Total scam tactics targeting college students. Save your time and sanity--buy your course materials through a legitimate digital marketplace or university bookstore instead.

I've been ordering printed materials from Ego ID Media for over a decade now and wouldn't work with…read moreany other design studio! Once, the production artist at Ego Id caught a typo even the bookmark designer didn't notice when I sent it over. Luckily I caught it just before Ego Id printed up 100 bookmarks and Lou managed to correct it in good time. They're the best!

I rarely write reviews, but the way I was treated here deserves to be documented…read more I brought in handwritten correspondence and a golf scorecard that former President Barack Obama had personally sent me. Because I needed to ship the originals before 4 p.m., a friend suggested that Ego might be able to scan them so I could return later and discuss creating high-quality reproductions for my personal collection. I openly admitted that I wasn't familiar with their process. I simply showed the items to an employee and asked whether they could scan them that day, with the understanding that I would return later to discuss exactly how I wanted the reproductions to look. Instead of calmly explaining their process or workload, the employee walked back to his desk, sat down, and began raising his voice at me. He said, "We have other things to do," and, "You can't just strut in here thinking you can get it done immediately." I never demanded immediate service. I asked a question because I did not understand how their business worked. When I realized that my request had upset him, I apologized and remained polite. His response was still aggressive, condescending, and completely unnecessary. Customers should not be humiliated for asking questions. If someone misunderstands your services, show a little patience and explain the process. Some of us simply don't know what we don't know. I left feeling shocked and disrespected. No matter how skilled this company may be, I would never return or recommend it after being spoken to that way.
