After going through the Better Business Bureau due to the experience I had with this company, I was finally able to have some resolution, thanks a very nice man who actually heard me out. I would still be cautious about purchasing eReaders from this company, but if you do decide to, make sure you are aware of the return policy (no returns under any circumstances). Also, don't count on customer service to be of much help, if you have a problem make sure to ask for a manager or director to speak to directly. The nice man who helped me (I am not exactly sure what his job title is, other than some type of director) listened to my situation and tried his best to help me fix the problem, not just for me but also for all the other students in my class that purchased an eReader. He let me know issues such as the one I had are rare and not typical of their company. I'd like to believe this is true. read more

The staff here were really nice. Great service! The place was hard to find, but located next to the Post Office tho. I had a reader from a previous qtr from the same course, they allowed me to check to see if it was still the same or not before I purchased it. They also have a good return policy, 2 weeks and no restocking fees. read more

Excellent customer service! I input the wrong address at check out, and the customer service representative at Cognella, Nicole, did everything to help me receive the pages I needed to complete my midterm on time. The book had to be re-shipped to my correct address, yet she came through to send the pages digitally to me so I would not have to complete at 8 page paper in one day. Worst company. I wouldn't hate them so much if they didn't claim to have reasonable prices all over their website. They are just as greedy and terrible as all of the other publishers. I emailed them when my teacher assigned an $80.00 reader (by the way, the stupid thing is only 100 pages) and asked for just an electronic version as my back is broken and I need to not only have a light backpack but I was hoping to save a little bit of cash. I got an angry response about not asking for special favors because its not fair to other students.Fine, I'll waste $80.00 that I really can't afford. They're kind enough (yea, right) to give you the first part on your computer, but you can't save it so you constantly have to be connected to the internet! Wait a minute, didn't I just PAY for this? And I can't even have it in the form that suits me? I will NEVER take a class with a teacher that assigns something from this company. read more

This company is very unprofessional in how they do business. It's as if they have some stigma against students...that we're so dependant on them and since the professors only give us this single option, that they don't have to provide decent customer service. It's extrmely upsetting when you purchanse both the physical copy and the ebook bundle, and the physical copy never ships, and the ebook will not download. I've tried 3 different browsers and neither will download the app. And from what i'm hearing from other users, they are not always the most helpful in addressing your problems. It's extremely aggravating that such a company exists for students who are already paying quite an expense to attend school, purchase books, and get their education. read more

Very disappointed with the reader for my class. It is essentially just a copied packet of a few articles, no better quality than what I can do at the library. The cost is $35 which did not appear outrageous, so I opted for the print version. The ebook was $30. $30-35 for what amounts to the same thing most professors post in online course content and it is free for us. Our university fees pay for database access and 500 free copies so we don't have to do be nickel and dimed on readers like this one. In fact I don't think I have ever had a professor decide to do a reader with so few articles. The way it all came off was almost like he is getting some sort of benefit from the company or something. They usually just post PDFs on the online course content. I happen to know that our local print shop or any Kinko's will print readers like this for about $10, you can get it instantly, and they pay the copyright fees as well. Skip the spiral binding and cut the cost in half. I have had other professors do that and it's no big deal. So this so-called amazing service of custom readers is really nothing special. The shipping was going to be 7 days with this company which does not seem so spectacular to me. Again, ordinarily our books are immediately available both at the library and bookstore, or in the case of readers, available for immediate print. I emailed with a question and never got a reply. Other reviewers have commented on the return policy (no returns, no exceptions). So yeah, all in all, seems like yet another shady company trying to milk more profits out of students living off loans we can never repay. Tears. read more

Dont buy anything from these thieves. I bought a book by accident, reported it quickly and these thieves will not take it back. No returns not disclosed in their order entry system but if you read their whole website you will find it. Despite their "business model" they should allow some flexibility as their is demand for every book and someone else would buy it. read more

The price for my reader was over $70. For that price, I was expecting a quality product, but the scan quality is terrible, and the electronic version isn't searchable and is saddled with Adobe DRM. They know they have a captive market when a professor assigns their students one of these readers. read more
