I have used RIsher Van Horn florist for many years. I have always been impressed with the flowers and service I received. They created the arrangements for our son's wedding, and everyone commented positively on them. However, the service in particular has gone down hill recently, to the point that i will no longer use them. The quality of the arrangements isn't imaginative and the fresh-cut flowers do not last. And the service of the staff is sadly lacking; there is no longer the helpfulness and friendliness i had come to expect. The last time I was there, the owner herself was borderline rude and could not have cared less about my concerns or the poor quality of the arrangement i custom ordered. Risher Van Horn summed up in one word? WOW. I am a self-proclaimed superfan of all things floral. I was a pretty chilled out bride except when it came to the flowers. I had a very specific vision in mind with a particular color scheme. RVH made it happen for us, and then some. Working with Trisha is a blessing. She is the nicest human you will ever come across. She's very patient. I would know, because I asked her a million questions and sent her lots of pictures of ideas I had. No question or idea was ridiculous to her. I appreciated how dedicated she was and am forever grateful. I even sent her a picture of one of my favorite flowers and she ordered it for my bouquet. One of my colors was a particular sangria purple -- Trisha worked with me tirelessly to get the color right. Talk about customer service! She deserves all of the recognition she can get. Now... the flowers. I GASPED when I saw them. I couldn't believe it. They came out so beautiful and even better than I had imagined in my mind. Breathtaking. Trisha and her team made my flowers look like a beautiful autumn sunset... let me tell you, guests were IMPRESSED. We got countless compliments on how beautiful and well-put together the centerpieces and bouquets were. The flowers were high quality, too. My family has ordered quite a few items from here. The flowers are always fresh, last at least a week (depending on what flowers of course), and the arrangements are always flush and well designed. This place not only does amazing work but is also generous and cares about the community! I volunteer with an organization called PACAC that helps to organize many of the college fairs in the state of PA. We host an annual conference every year and Risher Van Horn was the only florist in the area kind enough to donate. The fact that they are a small business of the community and care enough about the community to give back is reason enough for me to give them my business, the fact that their work is top notch is icing on the cake! read more

I purchased a fundraiser voucher for 12 months of small arrangements to support a teacher friend and his school. For $20, it was a steal, I felt otherwise after my first visit to this florist. Their hours are only until 5pm on the weekdays, so I made a b-line to their place this past Saturday, realizing I could make it there (barely!) by 3pm to get my very first bouquet. I called @ 2:40pm to confirm it was ok to pick up and that I would be arriving just at 3pm. They confirmed to me that yes to come and that we close at 3 as I realized. I literally pulled in a 2:59pm and the woman was out in the lot, putting out their closed sign when I parked. I confirmed it was still ok for me to come in and I barely got a response. She led me to the counter, had me complete the form, told me a couple things that I could clearly understand on the voucher and handed me my dainty bouquet of flowers. Mostly small roses (4 of which will never open), but a nice little surprise for my 8 year old daughter who loves getting flowers. I realize I pushed the limits by showing up when they close, but I called first to get confirmation it was ok, advised I'd be getting there at the very last minute and I felt like they could not spare an extra couple minutes to possibly appreciate a potential new customer. Oh well, I expect too much from businesses. I will hope for a better experience when I arrive in the middle of their work day. If not, I will get my $ worth for what I spent and spend my hard earned money somewhere else. It's as simple as that. Last week I received two baskets in sympathy for the passing of my father-in-law. The plant basket was beautiful and full of fresh plants. Wow! I just received a beautiful rose arrangement from my husband and this florist put together an amazing bouquet! And NO baby's breath that all the other florist just stick in all their arrangements! I can't rave enough about the quality of their work and the personalized touches. Just so you know, the roses lasted 8 days without even 1 drooping (I of course changed the water in the vase every day). I would highly recommend this florist to everyone who wants a truly unique arrangement because you can tell their designers are interested in creating something beautiful, and do not just place boring typical mums and carnations into a container. I ordered 4 arrangements for a rehearsal dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. Not only did the owner walk me through an excellent selection of flowers knowing the color scheme, she helped me design a lovely arrangement in a lantern and even found the candle and candle holder that fit in the center of the lantern just perfectly. The flowers were fresh and ready when I picked them up. The tables at the restaurant looked so lovely as did the side table with the beautiful lantern.
