Everyone is so welcoming and they truly truly care about each child as an individual and supporting them across all domains (intellectual, social, emotional, etc). Academically the school is top notch. My daughter's vocabulary has improves exponentially. And she gets to be exposed to science math space art etc while doing activities. During summer they had a theme for every week and it was so fun and Educational. The teachers are very knowledgeable and expert in the montessori method. I can't say enough great things about Young Minds! Our past experiences with preschools have mostly involved church-based MDOs. While those were nurturing environments, Young Minds is a step above as far as academics and learning go. The children engage in creative projects and learn about art, science, civics and different cultures, and even have a different themed week for every week of the summer. We didn't have a great experience at this school, I trusted the management and the reviews when we started, but found this is just another preschool under Montessori Umbrella. You don't see owners in months. The turnover is high compared to other Montessori schools in the area. My child started in a toddler room where the lead teacher has had a very hard time speaking/ understanding English, I was very surprised in the beginning but we stayed as my child was adjusted in the classroom. Assistants kept on changing and I completely lost track. When they decided to move him to the primary room, he faced a hard time adjusting and none of the teachers helped him out. I found lead and office staff very blunt. He started having accidents and no help provided from them. I would never recommend this if you are looking for a Montessori School. The school is top-notch, we moved from South Austin and we were worried about the development of our eldest son, but after just a couple of weeks we have seen a big improvement in the vocabulary ( we are from Spain, so he has dual language), also the staff on the school is super nice and welcome, during summer there are Splash days, also the teachers know the Montessori method which helps a lot to my son to focus more on the things to be tidier at the house. I loved this school, but more importantly my daughter loved this school. She was showing improvements every day in her independence at home and her love of learning. Every day she's been asking if it's a school day or not (she was half days, 2 days a week.) Unfortunately, she was sticking things in her mouth, and citing safety over everything, I was given a call suddenly asking me to withdraw her immediately. There had only ever been one discussion about it previously, and her parent/teacher conference just recently was full of glowing reviews. I can't help but feel hurt and saddened by the lack of trying to work with her and create a care plan to address this, rather then call for an immediate withdrawal. To say that I'm shocked would be an understatement. If you have a child that fits what they're looking for, then they were nothing short of caring and my daughter truly loved every moment. We are happy that we found Young Minds after having a bad experience with a well known national chain. Our preschooler is very intelligent but has a speech delay and that can affect socializing and learning. Young Minds made us feel comfortable that our kid would not be treated differently in the classroom. The teachers have been patient with our little one and we never felt that they would be left behind in any way. Fast forward six months later and our kiddo has made great progress with speech therapy and is thriving at Young Minds. This school does a great job with not only preparing children academically but also with teaching them good manners and routines, all while letting them develop at their own pace and without unwarranted pressures. The staff has also done a good job of keeping themselves and their students safe and mitigating the risk of COVID-19 transmission at the school. It pains me to leave this review as we have just completed our 4th year at Young Minds and it is time for our son to go to kinder. We will miss the teachers, Jordan, Tanya, and Indu tremendously but will be forever grateful for the care and instruction they have provided to our family. In our current culture, where educational systems are pressured to meet the ridiculous and non age appropriate academic standards, it was non negotiable that our child was able to be a child. He has plenty of time to be pressured. The Montessori Work provides the true school readiness at my child's pace. Increasing his focus, self regulation, intentionality, task completion, and an understanding of the world around him. Not the rote memorization of letters and numbers that are as meaningless as us memorizing Mandarin characters when done inappropriately. There is definitely the introduction of these objectives, but they aren't pushed on the students who aren't socially ready to absorb the content. The teachers follow the student lead and support their academic readiness when students show the signs that they are ready. Kindly and appropriately challenging students by meeting them where they are at. I could write a novel about how this school has supported my child's social/emotional and academic well being. I will leave it with the fact that I have been in early education and public K-12 education for nearly 20 years. We need more schools like Young Minds who truly tend to student social, emotional, and academic readiness to inspire the foundation of life long love of learning. read more

What an amazing difference! Before Young Minds our son was enrolled in another program that didn't fare very well. He was behind in his speech and attention skills, which created much worry. After a month at Young Minds, my wife and I saw a huge difference in my son's little personality. He became more talkative and shared his happiness with his new school. From the moment walking into Young Minds Montessori Preschool we knew it would be a great fit for our girls. As a pediatric occupational therapist I have been inside many private preschools and seen many classrooms. There is something so special about young minds calming atmosphere. Young minds teachers and administrators have a beautiful way of teaching a classroom of children with calmness, curiosity, playfulness, and structure. Every time we entered young minds no matter what time of day, the classrooms were always calm and peaceful (which is not the norm for preschools). We are amazed at the academics our girls were able to pick up in just a short time. When we first started our youngest daughter (1 1/2 years old) had separation anxiety but the teachers were so loving to her and took the extra time to reassure her. Cant recommend them enough!!! We absolutely love Young Minds Montessori! My son has been attending this school since he was 3 (he will be 5 soon) and we have seen him grow so much since starting here! He is now reading most kindergarten sight words and is even reading other bigger words as well. We were watching animal planet the other day and they showed South America on the map, and as soon as he saw it he said "Mama, that's South America!". I was amazed by this! I knew he was being taught sight words, shapes, colors, etc; but I was really happy to see him learning much more than I thought! In the beginning when we first switched him from home daycare with no established routines to the school he did have a more difficult time to adjusting to the more structured environment, but the owners and all teachers were so very patient (beyond what I probably could have done) and worked with him and us as he learned to adjust, and he has done great since then! Ms Ashanti and Mr Sheran (owners) have been such a blessing. There is always one or both of them to greet you for drop off or pick up and they are always so friendly. I love how I periodically get pictures of my son doing activities during school hours. I love all the staff and all have been so friendly. My son has really warmed up to everyone and feels so comfortable here. Overall our experience has been amazing and I would HIGHLY recommend Young Minds to everyone looking for care for their children in the Leander area. Our daughter has grown so much over the last 3 years and is more than ready to start kindergarten in the fall. Young Minds has been nothing short of an amazing amazing experience for my little one.I wanted to take my time writing absolutely wonderful things about the school. we landed at YMMS only because we wanted a school closer to our new home when we moved into the area and that has by far been the best decision we could have made. the school staff- without singling out any one in particular, were so patient with my son's transitioning and helped him reach his full potential, learning and behavior wise. The way his experience with YMMS has groomed him is evident in how easily he has adjusted into the public school system this year.Ms.Ashanthi is a god-send. it is no exaggeration that she knows every kid in every class, their parents, siblings, visiting relatives.... she is so invested in her students' wellbeing, development and families too. She always greets us with a smile and is always available for both the students and their parents on any given day for a talk. having said that, she also knows how to be lovingly firm when it comes to teaching the students the importance of discipline , respect and manners. Young Minds Montessori is the best preschool in Cedar Park/Leander. The owners, Ashanthi and Shiran, are genuine and engaging people. They're always bright and cheerful, approachable and compassionate. I trust them with my kids, which is huge. I also appreciate their flexibility. Not only does the school provide great care to my daughters, the cost is very fair. Miss Indu teaches my 4 year old daughter at a pace that instills confidence and she is excelling very quickly. Miss Indu provides structure and fun simultaneously. Her teaching style (the Montessori approach) is very effective. We noticed a difference academically in 2 months! My daughter loves school and is also making good friends. Miss Liz teaches my 2 1/2 year old. Miss Liz is fun and energetic... warm and affectionate. Young Minds is a great! My twin boys started preschool late at 4 years old, but Mrs Ashanti and the rest of the teaching staff worked hard to get my boys ready for Kindergarten. Not only that, they broke out of their shell, and their personalities really shined as the teachers there encourage creativeness and public performances. The school is very nice and clean. It is brand new, so everything is very colorful and the students work is displayed nicely through out the school. The food is pleasing to the kids whilst staying healthy. Our daughter has been at Young Minds for the last 2.5 years and we absolutely love this school. The teachers and staff are all wonderful! Not only is it one of the more affordable schools, it also offers so much to the kids. Mr. Shiran and Mrs. Ashanthi, the owners, greet you every morning and help put a smile on the kids faces throughout the day, its a very personal and safe feeling environment. My daughter has learned a ton in just the short time she's been here. We are constantly amazed at what she soaks up while there. She's learned to write and do basic math, and is even moving up to reading. She even told us how she read a book to her class. She will sing songs we have never heard, tell us about the life cycles of ladybugs, about her senses. Lots of things, lets face it you kind of forget kids don't know about. Shout outs to Mrs. Luce, Ms. Jordan and Mrs. Nilusha for teaching her all this! The other kids and parents are a wonderful group of people too. We've made great friends with other classmates and their parents while here.
