We've been at The PREP for over 2 years and between our 2 kids, have been in almost every classroom. We were drawn to The PREP initially for the independence and exploration the school offers. Kids learn beyond their classroom and the playground. There is an indoor gym, a tech room, an outside classroom, splash pad (for summer) and a cafe/art studio. At a young age, our kiddos were learning how to transition to new spaces and learn in all different environments. There have been changes with leadership and teachers during this time, but I feel like every change has been for the better and with the kids in mind. My 2 children have always felt comfortable with their teachers and as a parent I know the school leadership is listening to any concerns I might bring and addresses them appropriately. My oldest just graduated preK and I feel strongly that she is ready for Kindergarten. The PREP makes learning fun and my kids playing "school" on the weekends is a testament to the environment that is being fostered here. read more

Would leave 0 stars if i could. As a parent, I unfortunately cannot recommend this school. My concerns are primarily related to communication, child safety, and how behavioral incidents are handled. One of my biggest concerns has been communication with parents when serious incidents happen. I do not feel that parents are always adequately informed when their children are involved in incidents such as biting or other physical behaviors. When a child is being hurt by another student, I believe parents should be notified and given a clear understanding of what happened and how the situation was addressed. I have also had concerns about repeated behaviors such as hitting, kicking, and biting. From my perspective as a parent, there does not always seem to be a clear or consistent approach to addressing these situations. I believe children deserve to feel safe at school, and parents deserve to feel confident that appropriate steps are being taken when safety concerns arise. Another concern is the consistency of communication from management. At times, information and expectations have seemed unclear or inconsistent, which can be frustrating for families trying to understand what is happening and what procedures are being followed. Choosing childcare or a school for your child requires a great deal of trust. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do not feel that this is an environment where I am comfortable recommending the school to other families. I strongly encourage parents considering this school to ask specific questions about HOW injuries AND behavioral incidents ARE handled, WHEN parents are notified, and WHAT MEASURES are in place to keep children safe. read more

Beware if you're considering sending your children here. This place has gone seriously downhill since the previous director left. Staff seem to be getting let go or pushed out constantly, and there is absolutely no sense of stability anymore. It feels like every time you turn around, another employee is gone. The new "director" is extremely rude, unapproachable, and lacks the warmth and professionalism you would expect from someone running a school for children. If you're looking for a place where the staff actually greet parents, communicate, and make you feel welcome, this is definitely not it. I've also had serious concerns about the professionalism of some of the staff. There have been conversations and comments made around the children that I feel are completely inappropriate for a classroom setting. My child has come home asking questions about things they heard or observed from staff, and as a parent, I should not have to explain adult conversations or behaviors that should never have been brought into a child's environment in the first place, such as why a male teacher has a husband! That same staff member is extremely unprofessional around parents as well! Staff also needs to be much more aware of what they are saying around both children and coworkers. Whatever is happening behind the scenes, it is very obvious that something has changed. This school used to be a place I felt comfortable recommending, and unfortunately, I can no longer say that. The lack of consistency, professionalism, communication, and leadership is extremely concerning. We were considering putting our sons in this school. We asked for asap start dates. We filled out all the necessary paperwork and were expecting a call back the next day. The school drug their feet and did not reach back out to us for 5 days despite us calling multiple times. In that time we made other arrangements. I spoke to a member of their staff several days before the charge occurred and said we weren't really sure what were we going to do but would reach out at the beginning of the new year. Out of nowhere we get charged $309 enrollment fee. We asked that it be returned. The school says it's non refundable. If $309 is what it costs to keep my sons out of a inattentive, nonrepsonsive, lackadaisical school then it is money well spent. read more

We had both our kids here for school. The first class our son was in was not good for our son. The teacher showed little engagement at all. Everytime at drop off she would be sitting on her phone not watching kids. Our son has ADHD and high functioning autism. He was moved to another class to see if challenges would help him. He had Mr. Sanders. Hi is a wonderful educator and probably the other teacher who gave a crap at the school. That lasted for a months. When it came to summer time, his class as over ratio and a complete zoo at pick up. Like nearly 25 kids and couldn't get the attention needed. Our daughter has gone through so many teachers it's not funny. I can't even count. The turn over at this school is higher than your local Walmart. Most of the staff is there for the free daycare for her own kids. Like every other week you'll get a message about some staff change. She was all the time being sent out with other kids clothes.We recently moved to the area and compared to her last school in another state, No real teaching is actualy getting done here. Many times at pick up it's kids watching tv. On her last day i walked into a zoo. The room was a complete mess and kids just running around while the teacher sat in the middle on the phone. There are so many options in the area for daycares you can skip this one. It's not just us. Many people in Mason Hills have also pulled kidsg out. read more

We enrolled our child at The Prep at Crystal Falls in Fall 2022 and were initially very happy--our child loved their teachers and were learning a lot. Unfortunately, over the past year, the environment has changed significantly, and based on our experience, we can no longer recommend this daycare. Our greatest concern became our child's safety, along with a growing lack of trust that parents are being given accurate information about their child's day. This ultimately led us to withdraw our child earlier than planned. When our child returned this summer, they began reporting that another child in the class was frequently hitting, kicking, spitting, and calling others names. We raised the issue with the teacher and were told that management was aware. However, when the behavior continued and we reached out again via the school's app, we were told it was the first time they had heard of a problem. After being told that they would look into the issue and get back to us, which never happened. We then tried to schedule time with the director which was also a struggle to be able to schedule time with them. When we did finally speak to the director, they also claimed they were unaware of the issue and said the teacher had not communicated any concerns. We were promised a follow-up--but that never happened. This is a pattern we have experienced multiple times: we reported issues, were assured it would be looked into, and then never heard back unless we followed up repeatedly. Even then, the responses were inconsistent. Communication with management has been an issue for over a year. We've had difficulty getting phone calls returned or even basic questions answered. We also raised concerns about our child being bitten by bugs in the play area and were told we could bring our own bug spray--rather than the school addressing the underlying issue. Additionally, our child shares a name with another student and was called by their last name so frequently that both classmates and our own child became confused about what their actual name was. Despite raising this concern with management, it was never addressed and the problem still continues. The instruction we were told to expect has not aligned with what we've seen over the past year--our child often talks about watching TV, and they now cling to us at drop-off, a big change from their initial excitement to go to school. In addition, all the amazing staff that was here when we started has left. Not one of our child's original teachers are left at the school. The turn over rate seems to be very high. Teachers that start here do not seem to stay for very long. We are also not provided communication when teacher changes happen to tell us who is in the classroom and working with our child. We cannot recommend The Prep at Crystal Falls as a place where children receive the quality of care and education that was originally promised. Most importantly, we do not feel confident that communication from the school is honest, timely, or transparent. read more

My two children attend The Prep and I absolutely love it! I am obviously not there on a daily basis so I have to rely on the words of a 6 and 2 year old to know what it's like there. There are times when I go to pick up my two year old and he says he does not want to leave and wants to stay with his friends and teachers. My 6 year old loves the field trips they have gotten to go on this summer and really loves her teachers and friends she has made at the school. The management team is awesome and has always been open to any feedback or concerns we have. The events that they put together are also so much fun for the entire family! My two children currently attend the PREP and I can honestly say that we are beyond happy with the curriculum, the safety and the communication the PREP offers. My kids have learned so much in the past year and truly enjoy going to school every day. We love how. Ms. V, Ms. Geri and Ms. Wendy keep the line of communication open and quickly address any concerns. Ms. Wright & Ms. Garcia greet my children every morning during drop off and the entire team including teachers all seem to have happy and positive attitudes. We have been sending our kid to Prep @ Crystal falls and we love everything about it. The staff and management are meticulous. The curriculum is great, it focuses on social, personal and cognitive skills of the students. Our kid has learned a great deal in the last year. Class teachers are very communicative and keep us informed on regular basis. Overall we are very satisfied with the school, management, teachers and the friendly staff(especially the reception staff who never fail to greet us every morning). Our daughter has been enrolled at the PREP School of Crystal Falls since Nov 2021 and has moved up through several classes. It's been a great experience overall. Obviously as parents we all have really high expectations for the level of care we want for our kids and PREP School of Crystal Falls has really met all. They are great at communicating and when we have raised any concerns we've always been acknowledged and "concerns" were addressed. Most importantly, our daughter has learned so much and is happy to go to school every day. We actually kept her enrolled at this location even after moving closer to a sister location and having several other non-PREP options between home and work. You can't beat the teachers at this location and the curriculum that PREP offers. read more

I had a few options when deciding on a school for my 7-month old son. Inevitably, I chose The Prep Crystal Falls and am SO glad I did. The teachers in the infant room are so caring, have been at the school for years, and truly care about our babies. The administrative staff are helpful, kind, and always willing to help out. The Director, Geri is so thoughtful and you can see how much she cares about all the children, as well as the facility. We just moved up to the toddler room this week and the transition has been way less stressful than I anticipated. My boy is hitting his milestones, has the perfect amount of stimulation, and has never cried when I leave him in the morning. This school feels like a family and that is what is most important to me as a mom. read more

My daughter is in the Preschool class. She always looks forward to going to school and seeing her teachers. Her teachers are very attentive and truly caring about her well-being. I feel extremely comfortable leaving my daughter at THE PREP. The Preschool teachers are doing a fantastic job! Management team is great they are always involved with the students. I sincerely hope no other child has to experience the kind of neglect my child experienced while in The Prep's care. My daughter was moved into their JT2 class a little over 6 weeks ago and we immediately noticed a decline in care. It was evident that the school was short staffed, so much so that toddlers were sent to different classes very early in the afternoon. A couple weeks after being moved into the JT2 class, we picked our 19-month-old up and realized she had a dirty diaper that had not been changed in some time, feces had begun to dry to her skin, resulting in serious diaper rash. It was a Friday, so we assumed someone had just mentally checked out for the weekend and decided that it had to be a fluke. The following Friday, it happened again. This time she was crying when we arrived, and the teacher made a comment of "being all about feelings". She was in pain and no one thought to check her diaper. We addressed it with the morning teacher the following Monday, and we brought in new diapers and new diaper cream. We also mentioned this, along with some other concerns to the Assistant Director, who pointed out the staffing issues. A few weeks later, again on a Friday, we picked our daughter up to find her diaper was dirty and dried to her skin. The diaper rash was again severe. The following Monday morning, I brought it up to the Director and provided photos so she could see just how bad the rash was. She made no excuses and promised to investigate it and make sure it didn't happen again. A week later, on a Tuesday afternoon, we picked our child up to find her in another dirty diaper, feces dried to her skin, with bad diaper rash. We addressed it with the Director the following morning, who admitted that other parents had also come to her with concerns about diaper rash. She assured us that this had been handled and would get better immediately. Well, that exact afternoon, we picked our child up and found her being held and consoled by a teacher. I knew immediately what was going on because each time she had diaper rash, this was how we found her, upset and in pain. We checked her diaper and again found it dirty, dried to her skin, and now the diaper rash was so severe that she was bleeding. Over a week later, the marks from the broken skin are still evident. The Prep refunded our enrollment fee and the remainder of the month, along with letting us leave without a 30-day notice. If a daycare cannot provide adequate care for students, including taking care of their basic needs, then they should not be open. I hope the owners of this establishment learn from this and move forward knowing the importance of training, following-up with teachers, and employing enough people to safely operate. If I could go back in time, we would not have chosen The Prep for our child. If you are considering The Prep, I encourage you to check their teacher turnover rate at the Texas Daycare Licensing website and I also encourage you to listen to your gut instinct. I wish we had pulled our daughter from their school much earlier, but I truly trusted them to fix the issue. Lesson learned. read more

Disappointed. Unsatisfied. We sent our 18 month old, he was not given proper attention. The Director said he is not getting adjusted and told to send after few months. They took all our money in advance but didn't give back. However when we asked the Director that he is ready to re-join, she didn't allow and said need to pay all the fees again. I am honestly really really disgusted by one of the teachers in the toddler hallway. Ms.Mencher to be exact. She treats the kids HORRIBLY and talks to the parents disgustingly. She yells at the kids. She tells the kids that she "doesn't effing like them". Throws them in laundry baskets. She cusses at the kids. She just treats them so bad and I wonder as to why she is still here? The kids are afraid of her. None of the parents like her. As a parent, hearing and seeing how she acts towards these kids terrifies me. I hope my kid NEVER gets her as a teacher because I will not let her watch my kid. Has anyone held her accountable? I want to know because if she's still here when my kid gets to that class I will not be giving the Prep any business. I would advise if anyone sees this to ask other teachers about how Mencher treats her coworkers and kids. Be careful. You wouldn't want a bitter person watching your kid right? You wouldn't want someone yelling and cussing at your kid right? Or throwing them into baskets. read more
