As mentioned in my previous reviews this is a go to for my family events and has continued to be. When I came in here a few weeks ago I saw some familiar faces in the waitstaff and some new ones and yet every person I interacted with was friendly and treated our large group with respect and a cheerful smiles. I tend to always go for the mussels when I come here but I know lots of my family loves the pizza I got Ro try a few bites from everyone's order and the pizza was indeed light and crispy but packed full of flavour. Je suis allez quelque fois au Luganos et je n'ai jamais été déçu. Le menu est vraiment gros, beaucoup de pâte, des pizza, du poisson, du steak, des salades... Vraiment beaucoup de chose. Certain pourrait dire que 20$+ pour des pâtes c'est cher en 2022. Mais avec la qualité des ingrédients, et ce sont aussi des pâtes fraîches faites à la main et non pas des pâtes aux oeufs sec du iga. Le tout commence avec un bon petit pain frais chaud servit avec de l'huile balsamique et du beurre. J'ai essayer des manicotti alla Toscana. C'est manicotti sont favoris de riccota, parmesan, épinards et provolone avec une sauce tomate et gratiné de mozzarella. Un vrai régal, une portion de dimension parfaite pour remplir le ventre. Ma compagne à prit les fettuccine Calabrisella. En gros, des fettuccine dans de l'huile d'olive, de la pancetta, des olives noires, des échalotes, des tomates séchés, des champignons portobello et du poivre noir le tout flambé au brandy avec un peu de crème pesto. Ce fut un délice. Ne pas oublier, si vous voulez du vin, c'est un restaurant apporter votre vin. Au dessert, un gâteau fromage dulce de le he et un gâteau au chocolat Lovin spoon. Le service est aussi très accommodant. Went as a party of 6 people. They got an order wrong, and brought us a mussel plate instead of the linguine vongole. They corrected the mistake buy still charged us for the mussels that we had not ordered. They also charged us for sharing the appetizers. This was not indicated on the menu that we would have to pay for sharing appetizers. It is indicated on the pizza portion. read more

My first time dining at Lugano's in Laval will also be my last. I went with my wife and 4 of her family members. They charged us extra for sharing an appetizer without warning or making mention of it on the menu. Despite clearly pointing and articulating that I was ordering a plate of linguine with clam sauce, I was instead brought an order of steamed muscles and fries. They corrected the order but, still charged me full price for the muscles I never ordered, wanted, or got to take home (in addition to correctly billing me for the pasta that I did order) . My wife and I dine out regularly and pride ourselves in supporting local restaurants. That said, Lugano's has lost 6 customers plus the additional word-of-mouth traffic as neither of us will be recommending the place to anyone. read more

I had dinner at Lugano's last week. Ordered the mussels with white wine sauce. I like removing all the mussels from the shells before I start eating. When I got to the bottom, there was practically no sauce! I couldn't believe they would serve it like this. I advised the waiter and he initially told me that I could only get the marinara sauce so I told him that I ordered the white wine sauce. He took my order to the kitchen and brought it back to me in some bad tasting broth which I couldn't eat. Needless to say I wasn't happy. No apolog for wasting my time and the fact that it was late and I was hungry. All the restaurant had to do was tell me that they had no more white wine sauce and to either order another sauce or another dish. read more

I am surprised by the bad reviews! I've been dining here for about 5 years now and I only saw the food and service getting better & better. We always eat out on a friday or saturday night! Service is fast & courteous. I love their lasagna, penne à la gigi, fried calamari & veal chops. Their dessert is also to die for. Good spot for a byow experience. Portions are generous and prices are fair! About 100$ for 3 people with appetizers, main course and desert! None of us ever got sick from here. Love their mini baguettes! It has been over 5 years I have not been to Lugano's. I Came last night with a friend and took the Veal scaloppine (table hotel version) and it also came with a clam chowder soup. The soup was all right but my main course was disappointing. My plate had some pasta, the tomato sauce tastes like it came out of a can, I could of made better at home. I must say the sauce that was put on my veal was the best thing on my plate, it tasted better then the meat itself. The scallops on my plate tasted like they were frozen. I find it's WAY too expensive for the quality of food I got, they have really gone down hill since the last time I came here. It's a shame because they use to be amazing and one of my favorite places to eat. read more

Was here for a birthday. I asked the waitress recommandations. After what she said, I was interested into take the seafood pasta. Asked the waitress if the seafood was fresh or frozen she looked at me very surprised to ask her that question. I asked again if it's fresh or frozen, she said its fresh. When I got the plate, there was a strong sea smell out of it. The tomato sauce had no flavors, seems like it was out of a can. Paying 29$ for a that kind of plate, never again. In terms of Italian cuisine, there are plenty of choices to turn to in the Montreal and Laval area. And with the surplus of Italian restaurants in both cities, if you're not the best, you're somewhere lost in the middle. Based on my meal, I'd say Lugano's falls in the middle. I ordered the rotollo pasta (which is, in essence, a roll of pasta with ricotta cheese between layers and then smothered with mozzarella). Firstly, we received our meal within 10 minutes of ordering it. Maybe even less. That kinda turned me off, as I would have preferred to wait longer to keep up with the illusion that our meal was made fresh and not just freshly served. I get that restaurants do a fair amount of prep before service, but the place was really full; even if it was prepared earlier, the pastas texture was off. The pasta was soft, the stuffing was bland, and the sauce had little flavour. To put concisely, it lacked depth. Not even the oozing mozzarella topping saved it. On the plus side, super warm baguette served before your meal is a win no matter how good or bad the food is, so that was appreciated. We were in an out of there in less than half an hour. Service was incredibly efficient! My meal could've used a little more TLC though. read more

I have been coming to this place for almost 10 years and I truly enjoy it. Yes it was better 10 years ago and through out it's years it has lost some of it's mojo but it is still better than average in my opinion. The prices have increased quite a bit but since you can bring your own wine it is still reasonable. Food is very good, although I have come to the conclusion than the supper meals are better done than the lunch ones. Probably they have different chefs for the evening service. Staff is friendly and accommodating. My two favourite dishes are the chicken parmesan and the vitello genovese. A great place for groups and family. Inviting ambiance and not too noisy. Give it a shot it might become your new favourite place to have Italian food. read more

This place used to be so good! The last time we were there was for a Christmas diner with my mother, husband and daughter. My husband made a reservation and, as expected, there were a few things we had to conform to because its such a busy day for them. Its ok, we expected it. But, once there, it felt too busy for their capacity; room wise and staff wise. I kid you not, My husband and I ate diner with the rear-end of one of the guest at the table besides us (perpendicular) that kept on going around to see and great everyone (which is good of her) but we lacked so much room, that she was basically on top of us. The entrees came so fast to the table that we had not finished our appetisers! And the waitress left with the unfinished plates at the "end" of the meal. We felt very much rushed to leave and make space for the people that just kept coming in. Even if my husband sent them an email, he never even received an acknowledgement or apology. This had to be the most horrible Italian restaurant I have ever been in. It's a BYOW and As a result they charge 25% more for food. That would be ok if it was good quality but instead it is HORRIBLE, and that is a generous description! Pizza at $25 with a cookie crust and sausage from Super C is blasphemous. It was Friday night and they were at most 15% full so obviously my review is pretty much supported by the missing hundreds who ate here since it opened and decided they would rather eat at Pacini's, at least you know your not eating Italian food at Pacini's, just Italian food described as sounding good. Luganos pretends to be good Italian food by making their description of their plates authentic but what you get is a Greek restaurant owner's version of Italian which is pretty much NOT ITALIANO! I connot portray how HORRIBLE this place is. Calamari are the size of bangle bracelets and horribly battered. The Carbonara pasta was devoid of any egg, pretty much a butter (maybe margarine) with salt and flour (poor man's bechamel) drowning the spaghetti. It was soupy when it arrived and eventually congealed into a floury salty mush. Only thing that was authentic was the pasta which was al denté on arrival but since it was a soupy drowned serving, it was an overcooked mess after getting half through it. For anyone who doesn't know authentic Carbonara, you would get filled up with salty goopy noodles a la grocery store Alfredo but anyone who has any inkiling on true Carbonara it's a thorough mess and to charge 25$ is absolutely trecherous when true Italian restaurants will serve absolutely true Carbonara for same or less price wise! My cohort's ordered the carbonara pizza. I won't waste any more letters to describe how TERRIBLE it was. Both left half behind and were nauseated so much so neither decided to bring it home to feed their dogs.....that's right not even acceptable for their dogs! Enough said, avoid this place at all costs, it will be closed and gone in maximum 12 months. Already empty on a Friday night so obviously word is getting around and they will soon be schooled on why they are far from acceptable!!!!!! read more

We went in for lunch. We should have walked out. Pizza was honestly the worst I have ever had, and I've had bad pizza. This was not even the quality of frozen!!! Staff was nice enough to not make me pay for it. Ceaser chicken salad was just ok. Chicken had a fish taste. Lettuce was fresh (I'm trying hard to say something nice). This was at lust after lunch so not sure if cooks were tired, but chalk that one up to bad experience. Too bad, really wanted to like the place. read more

The service and food here is decent but the main issue with Lugano's is pricing. It is several dollars more for each dish than competitors, some within eyesight of the front door. The menu is also somewhat lacking and thin compared to other establishments. Still though, you will eat well here, just make sure it is within the budget. read more
