Food (4/5): A little bit higher prices than the other italian restaurants. Prices are okay, as the food has a fresh and good quality. Location (3/5): This is a nice italian style restaurant just a few footsteps away from the Konsti. So totally good in reach from everywhere in Frankfurt. Good but no overachieving of my expectations. Service (5/5): Totally scored with their service. Very friendly and fast. As our group has not arrived all at once but 8 people spread around 45 minutes, they really did their best to hurry up the food orders for late coming people. Without us even asking for this. So we really had the opportunity to have dinner together even if we ordered all across the menue and not all at once. Also the staff was very fast on drinks. Total (4/5): Might be the right place for a romantic dinner ;)

Very good food. Be patient with the service, it is kind but slow. The pasta dishes are phenomenal. Pass on the beef not bad at all but not great. Lean toward the specials! Great wine selection.

This one cost me about 70 Euros. No menu for me no price for the start course. Totally spend me 225 euros. I feel cheated.

Parmesan Cheese wheel that is scraped then tossed with the butter Linguine and topped with shaved black truffle. To die for!

My husband, 2 year old son and I decided on this restaurant for Mother's Day as a second choice. Our first choice Quattro, their sister restaurant was closed and they mentioned Il Rustico. We walked in with no reservations at about 6pm on Sunday. We were sat promptly at a little table by the window where our large jog stroller could fit easily. No high chairs, but our son is more well behaved in his stroller anyhow. The decor was rustic and casual and the atmosphere was relaxed. It never got too loud even when the place filled up. It took awhile for someone to come over to greet us after we sat and our order to be taken, probably because our menus were still open as we took awhile to peruse our choices. Or maybe because it was early and only one server was on the opening shift. After we noticed the second server arrive, he came and took our order promptly. I ordered a glass of their house Róse, which was only €3.50, score! It was slightly fruity and delicious! Hubby had a cola. I ordered as a starter the arugula salad with thin shaved Parmesan and Parma ham. It was served With a couple slices of tomatoes and cucumbers and the arugula was drizzled with a nice light balsamic vinaigrette. My husband ordered the cheese and tomato pizza. Their dough is freshly made in house and the crust was thin, crisp and flavorful. He shared that with our son. We ordered a small side of butter penne which was served with a small container of parmesan cheese for our son but he wanted the pizza instead. My husband and I picked on the pasta which was delightful and perfectly al dente. For our entrees, we shared the Butter linguine tossed with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese right IN a huge cheese wheel and then topped with fresh shaved black truffle. They drizzled an oil on it, I couldn't tell if it was olive oil or truffle oil. Either way, it was the best pasta either of us had ever eaten. You MUST try it if you go here. We also shared the Truffle butter filet served with a side of roasted potatoes, steamed broccoli and steamed haricovert green beans. Half the filet was med rare and tender which is how we ordered it, the other half was medium. The medium rare part was perfect, the medium side was not as tender but still flavorful. I didn't finish my half so we wrapped that up to go. No room for dessert so we stopped into Starbucks at the end of the street after we left and had some caramel macchiatos while we strolled around a bit. A little ways down we encountered a Dunkin' Donuts and grabbed a couple. I'm sure the tiramisu or any other dessert would have been fabulous! Next time perhaps. Our total bill came out to €75 and totally worth it for a special occasion. We will definitely be back. Bravo Il Rustico!

Date of visit: 9/6/2024…read more Not sure what to eat for our last meal in Frankfurt. We were pretty much done with German food so we went with Italian instead. Our first choice was located outside of Frankfurt, leaving only Quattro on the table. Our orders: - scallops with truffle: scallops were perfectly prepared and I thought the truffle shavings were pretty generous. The sauce however, was WAY TOO SALTY! Like...reallyyyy...you don't taste your cooking before serving it to paid customers? - Spaghetti Quattro with scampi, mussels, clams and baby calamari in white wine butter sauce: pasta was al dente. it was delicious with plenty of shell fish, BUT again, it was on the salty side. If the amount of salt could be toned down a bit, this would be a winning dish! - Spaghetti ala vongole: almost the same with the spaghetti Quattro above but with only clams. Sauce was not as salty which is awesome! - Lemon sorbet: served partially melted already. I hate melted ice cream and sorbet! BUT it was surprisingly good! I would never voluntarily order a lemon sorbet but we were not in the mood for a tiramisu or a soufflé that night. It was light & refreshing & exactly how we wanted to close our meal. House bread was served cold and hard. I hate cold hard bread. I had to ask them to warm it up. They did. On a side note: when we came, indoor dining area was empty. The waiter asked us to sit at the full patio without letting us know it's a smoking dining area. It was not fun being a second hand smoker for the next 90 minutes, so unless you are ok with cigarette smokes and/or a smoker yourself, do your lungs a favor a get indoor seats instead!

I had done a…read morelittle research on the most reviewed bars in town (with good ratings) and Eschenheimer Turm Cafe was one of the ones that I jotted down. It was also close to where we were so we walked over for happy hour. Ambiance (3.5/5): This bar and restaurant is known for it's tower. From doing a little research, I found that there's limited seating in the tower. Unfortunately, this wasn't a possibility when we were there, so we sat out on their spacious patio. A bit of a bummer, but we made the most of it. The weather was nice so the patio wasn't a bad consolation prize. Al fresco dining is the way to go in Europe. Service (3/5): Pretty much your standard European service. Not terribly attentive, not terribly efficient, but it does the job. You'll have to track down your waiter here and there, but that's pretty much the standard in Germany and Europe as a whole. Food (N/A): We only stopped by for drinks so I can't comment on the food. Drinks (3/5): They have a pretty extensive cocktail list, and it was happy hour, so we were able to get a good deal on their adult beverages. The cocktails are pretty much standard cocktails, not a lot on the inventive side of things. I'm talking things like margaritas, mojitos, Hugos, etc. Eschenheimer Turn Cafe made for a nice break during a day of exploring. It just would have been fun to sit in the tower as it's their most distinctive feature.

What a delightful experience!…read more I was a little surprised when we got here to find out that we wouldn't be dining inside the tower, which was what I had previously expected, but we had a great time nonetheless! You can make a reservation ahead of time online, but we found it didn't do anything special for us as we were told to just pick anywhere to sit and eat as it wasn't very crowded when we arrived. There is SOME indoor dining, but sitting outside is much more pleasant, especially in the summer. They have VEGAN SCHNITZEL on the menu, which was very exciting for me as I am of German heritage but am now vegetarian, so I haven't eaten schnitzel since I stopped eating meat. It was delicious and very satisfying! Also, you CAN go up in the tower. The restrooms are actually up at the top of the tower, which I found very interesting as I wouldn't think it would be ideal to install plumbing at the top of a 15th castle tower. Be sure to go check it out, even if you don't have to pee! Tip: if you order extra sauce, they will charge you for it. We were unaware of this as extra sauce is usually at no charge where we're from (the U.S.), so this is a warning to any Americans who plan to come here.

Well - this place is clearly family run, and GOOD GOD is this food fantastic! DO NOT HESITATE! We were thankful that the staff understood English, but they also speak German and Italian, which was really wild to hear while you're away. They have a pretty extensive menu, so I went with my eyes instead of what my stomach could actually handle, and opted for the whole experience - wine, appetizer, and the main course. To start, we each got some lovely white wine and got two heavy pastas that were from creamy, rich heaven. I got the tortellini stuffed with meat in a lovely light cream sauce with ham while hubby got gnocchi with four cheese alfredo sauce. Mine was BELLA and my hubby's was nothing to stick your nose up to. They were homemade; they were FRESH; and they were meant to be eaten slowly. Admire that fork full of delicious pasta and cry inside quietly; this is some of the BEST pasta I've ever had outside of the USA. We even went back the following night and opted for some personal pizza and I got the seafood pasta. I had originally ordered the seafood risotto, but the waiter actually came from the kitchen and said that the risotto was not good enough to serve and would make my dish into a pasta dish. That was completely nice to even tell me that, and to make something even better than I expected! The pictures speak for themselves; this place is a GEM!
