They can be very helpful. Maybe not the warmest when it comes to telephone calls but ultimately they'll get you a pretty good policy.

After a frustrating search for insurance down the mountain, and trying some other local spots that will remain unnamed, I have found Rita Price Farmer's Insurance to be wonderful! Like many, we have been dropped a few times and struggled to find coverage. I'm so happy to have found Sarah and this office - if we get dropped again I know they'll handle it - which is a HUGE relief. Sarah and the staff have been friendly and helpful, answered all my questions and discussed my options pretty thoroughly with me when I needed some clarity. I'd give them 0 stars if Yelp would let me. This office is a joke. I was looking for a quote on home, auto and life ins and never got one. I was told a quote would be generated in 3-5 business days and I would get a call. I followed up multiple times over the course of 2 weeks to see if my quote was ready and they kept saying be patient, you'll get a call as soon as the quote was ready. Out of need I called another Farmers Agent that Farmer's website suggested. I got a quote in 24 hours INCLUDING THE CA Fair Policy, which we need around here because of the fire situation. Marie, NOT RITA, was on top of stuff. (Her info below) Out of curiosity, I called Rit's office back, which has now been 3 weeks, and someone there said that they emailed it to me, NOT CALLED as I was told many time would happen... That and I never received an email from them! WTF. What a joke. I am glad that I found another agent to help because filing a claim through this office would have been a nightmare! They'd probably never call you back.... and I still have not gotten an emailed quote from them. Extremely poor service. I had a home owner policy with them, upon renewal they advised 5 days prior to expiration that they were having a problem with the carrier. They would not return my phone calls or emails until 2 days before the policy expired, advising that the carrier was not renewing policies on the mountain. They left me 24 hrs to scramble to find another agent/carrier. A courtesy return of my phone calls or emails the week prior would have been too much to ask apparently. In addition we had tried to insure our boat with them the prior year and their boat insurance department did not call me back for 10 days...at that point we had obviously already found another agent and carrier. Overall extremely poor customer service and follow through. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I called on a Monday 10/23/17 for an insurance quote and today 10/31 I finally get a mediocre quote $200 more than the insurance I decided to go with. Also $100 more than my second home insurance option. Both responded within a day or two, not "3-5" days like I was told by their secretary man. This would have delayed the close of my escrow if I waited for them. If this is how they respond to getting insurance I can't imagine what they are like when making a claim. Karen was super nice when she took my info but the response and services is a ZERO. So I give one star for the nice employee you do have. We've used this agency since we bought a house in arrowhead about 3 years ago. Got a letter they did a properly inspection and found a broken gate latch and a stair railing that was too low. Now I don't mind the safety inspection (although in 20 years of various home ownership I've never been subjected to one) I did mind the strict and short time line to correct and the threat of termination if not addressed. And an additional threat of charging for a second inspection of we didn't send proof!! Easily fixed. Switch home owners insurance and got back the remaining 6 months of premiums I had paid. My experiences are mirror images of the others... no calls back, late quotes etc. Just received my cancellation today for " non-payment". Please understand that I have an impound account with my mortgage. You will never get called back and you will need to go to the office and make a scene to get anything done. Like many Home Owners in Crestline Ca. my fire insurance was not renewed this year because of the Extreme Fire Danger in our mountains. Rita Price, Agent for Farmers Ins in Blue Jay, Ca. wrote the original insurance package including fire ins in 2018. At that time I wasn't impressed with her or her staff but getting a package I just went with it. Getting the notification of non-renewal I called her office and was told they are working on other customer issues and would get back to me. Not getting timely responses I called the office again and was told the same. Suspecting I was going no where with her or her office staff I went else where and got Fire Insurance and Home owner ins. I had a very pleasant experience with this office in getting my home owners insurance. At first it did take two weeks for them to get around to quoting my home , but I do understand they're working hard to try and help as many people as they can in this insurance crisis with most people being dropped .once I started working with Diana it was smooth sailing and she was able to help me get insured and for the lowest price. I did lots of shopping around before going with the "Rita price farmers" office, most of the other brokers either never called me back or were offering me very bad policies that I felt were way too low for the value of my home or just crappy fine print in general. I'm so grateful to Diana that I was able to move ahead with this and not have to worry about it anymore as I had been looking for about two months since i was told I would not be getting renewed by my previous carrier. She was super pleasant to work with and I was even surprised to get a call around 8:00 one night as she wass still working late to get me my quote . I'm about to recommend the Rita Price agency to a neighbor who's now caught in the "non-renewal" issue with his house, so I wanted to pop in and put in a good word here. I was one of the early ones to get that notice, beginning in the spring with homeowners policies expiring in late April/early May. The agency at first thought the Farmers regional office had made a mistake, not realizing at that point that non-renewal is based on ZIP code, not on actual property or neighborhood conditions. The agency wasn't yet overwhelmed with these non-renewals -- that would take a couple of more weeks -- and helped me quickly to figure out the problem and to get a California FAIR Plan policy with a supplemental Farmers policy to cover what FAIR doesn't cover. I cannot praise the assistance highly enough, though I know that by the time my policies were written, I was one of more than 100 Farmers policyholders who had avalanched the office in panic at a slow time of year for policy renewals. It's my pleasure to recommend my neighbor now -- and may we all weather this insurance industry crisis and return to normal soon. read more

This office is poorly run. I can only imagine that Rita no longer works there because no owner of a business would accept the poor level of service offered here. Sheri flat out lies to cover her failures, it is embarrassing, I assume Farmers does not track this tiny office. Very seriously, I would recommend any other broker, even if you pay a little more, seriously...this place is bottom end, bottom end people, and bottom end product. Rita Price Insurance Brokerage is completely understaffed to handle the current situation on the Mountain. She needs to hire "many" more agents immediately! IMMEDIATELY or be considered NEGLIGENT! I contacted them approx. 2 months prior to my short-term rental insurance policy with fire was expiring. They said they would get back to me closer to the expiring date. They contacted me regarding an earthquake policy that I additionally inquired about but zero contact happened regarding the essential short-term rental with fire policy that was not going to be renewed. They did not follow-up with "my " timely phone call. I followed-up approx. a week before my insurance was to expire at which time I found out that the entire mountain is having trouble obtaining short-term rental with fire insurance. I was told an email went out to scores of people a while back; I received nothing. Again, I never received a follow-up phone call to my proactive earlier call. They said they have been handling things as fast as possible. Apparently that is not fast enough since people are having zero time to read policies before they have no insurance or the policies they are offering get pulled back due to a first come first serve basis that no one mentions either. Bottom-line, this agency was/is ill-prepared for this crisis. Apparently, they had many months of notification that this crisis was unfolding and failed to share this knowledge while it was happening. They could have staffed-up but instead, they stayed in understaffed, day to day, crisis mode trying to hold on to their book of business rather than giving clients the timely opportunity to enlist other brokerages for assistance. They should have done the right thing by either staffing-up or admit defeat and actively help to transfer clients to other brokerages. Either would be better than having no insurance, especially after the carrier provided approx. two months prior warning to me and I can only surmise that Ritas' firm had able warning of the tidal wave of policies that were "not" going to be renewed by carriers. I give this office zero stars for failure to acknowledge the crisis and to effectively protect the client by "not" sharing critical information early enough so we could attempt to help ourselves by engaging other brokerages for assistance. Update, after posting my Yelp review Rita called me which is interesting because I was told by her worker that she was going to call me two day ago plus I called her this morning and she was going to call me in about 1 1/2 hours . She stated that she was very angry about what she read on Yelp. I let her know that I was very upset about having no insurance. Amazing how an internet review stimulates a timely response.
