I'm sad to say I don't recommend this pharmacy AT ALL. They barely have any staffing, which means that the staff that is there is frustrated and rude, and you wait in line for a very long time, only to find out that your prescription isn't ready. People's medication isn't something you can take lightly, and get done "whenever", medication is something to be taken seriously, and with a positive attitude. read more

This is the WORST store i have ever been to.The workers are rude to the point that they actually pick fights with customers.I am not kidding.They have a policy that the customer is always wrong.Every time i have shopped there i saw at least one shopper yelling at the people behind the counter for being extremely rude to them.You would think it is just one employee that is the issue but no,it is the management.They do not care and it shows in their service. I just get in and get out as quickly as possible but the last time i was in there i could not help but stand there and watch as the manager threatened to call the police on an elderly woman for politely complaining to them about the rude employee behind the counter.When another customer came to stand up for the old lady the manager yelled at them both,telling them both "Shut your mouths and get out before i have you arrested".Many other people saw this and walked out with the elderly lady.The store was then empty for the most part.I just put my items back on the shelf and left as well. I never once had a good experience at this pharmacy. My first horrid experience with Rite Aid is that when our insurance didn't go through before my fiance's refill was needed, my fiance suffered through 3 days of excruciating withdrawals. I went to rite Aid 3 times to ask for advice and got stonewalled repeatedly. As a last resort I went to cvs which is my pharmacy to ask them. The young man at cvs told me the medication we were waiting for only cost about $12 without insurance so I could in theory purchase it. Why the assholes at rite Aid couldn't tell me that while I was begging them for help today I'll never know. My last straw came today though. I went to pick up my fiance's lithium prescription which we called in the day before. I waited for 10 minutes at the drive through window before someone acknowledged me then another 3 before they came over. The woman who came over proceeded to tell me that they didn't have it in stock and had moved it to the schedule tomorrow. They never once attempted to contact me to let me know that a medication that can cause excruciating withdrawals if you miss one dose wouldn't be ready when I asked for it. I then had to call around and drive down the grade to SLO to get his prescription filled. I called CVS that day and will be moving ALL of his prescriptions over. If I never set foot in that pharmacy again it will be too soon. read more

I went to pick up a prescription today. I recently moved but usually use Rite Aid and assume my information should be available in their system between stores. I start off being told the cost is $ 200 unless i have insurance which I provide. Next I am told that it will be 20 minutes as the pharmacist has to process it. The prescription is already in a bottle, they have my card. I ask what needs to be processed that requires a pharmacist to be told the lame excuse that is their policy. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! I can not wait to contact corporate in the morning. Courtney [sp] is miserable with her job and it shows. I get it miss unhappy I worked retail for 25 years. Pharmacy technicians are awesome, they really helped me out after I had issues with Walgreens

Expensive as usual as are all convenience stores. I have gone to many rite AIDS along the west coast for my prescription medications and this one is by far has the slowest pharmacy I have ever experienced. They tell me it will be an hour to fill my prescription when no one is here and over an hour and 30 mins later I am still sitting here waiting for my meds. Expect a long wait time. Usually only one person at the counter. People are always waiting in line to get served. So frustrating!! read more

Store hours are inaccurate. The app says open at 7 am but the store here in Atascadero does not open until 8 am per sign on front door.

Super experience always with the pharmacy. Always have meds on time and the wait is never too long. Had a nightmare with Walgreens every time I went there, it's been a real pleasure switching to rite aid and should've done it years ago. read more

This is a wonderful Rite Aid. Wait times in the pharmacy are a bit longer than average but the staff is very friendly. Having worked in pharmacy for 5 years, I am selective about where I go. I don't come here to shop.... ever. I find that the associates are hard to come by, unknowledgeable on items' locations and not super friendly when I am in need of finding a product. I will, however, come here on occasion for their ice cream. Thrifty ice cream is just so darn good. The last time I was in here, however, they were out of spoons for the ice cream! Say what?!?! We all had to use the little tester spoons to eat our ice cream. Not cool. read more

The pharmacy drive thru hrs online say they are open on Sundays till 7pm so I drive all the way there arriving at 6:18pm and the sign on the window says closes at 7pm also then there is a Note that days come inside. So thinking they just closed the drive thru part down early but the inside would be open I parked and went inside only to find the pharmacy is completely closed. I asked if it was really completely closed and was told they now close at 6pm on sundays. I suggested they put a sign on the drive thru window that says that and they really didn't care. read more

90% of the staff is completely rude. I called in to double check my prescriptions and they literally hung up on me before I could finish asking questions. I could literally hear her groaning on the phone because of how irritated she was. I work in customer service so I understand that sometimes customers can be frustrating asking the same things over and over but these are my medications. I have every right to be needy about them because I cannot live my life normally without them. There is a few exceptions to the staff but most are just awful. My biggest complaint is that one of my prescriptions continuously gets filled in these super cheap bottles that the lid without me even touching it pops off. It causes me to spill my pills and is very dangerous considering these are harsh pills and I have children in my house. The lids are supposed to be child proof but can't even go around in my purse without spilling. I never had any issue with this at my old pharmacy. read more

I call to get pricing on a refill. I was quoted two prices by the young lady. Name brand and generic. I told here great price on the generic and I'll call my doctor. We got there about 2 hours later. The young lady greeted us and then explained she made a mistake by quoting the price on the generic. They did not have it and the warehouse did not have it. I was stuck now. We agreed on paying $ 42.00 dollars more. Next statement. Sorry the pharmacist is out to lunch you'll have to wait 20 minutes. Wow the product was in a package and ready to go. No filling or mixing. They have a 15 minute fill statement. I guess someone there doesn't read. The young lady is clueless to the time of others and her responsibility to be accurate when quoting over the phone. Friendly staff and very well stocked. Store is clean and organized. Only complaint is that they run out of specialty items pretty quickly and don't order them in greater quantities. Other than that this Rite-Aid pretty much beats the other ones in central coast read more

Don't waste your time! Manager (Jim) is a prick. Walks around with a stick up his @$$. Dude... You work at a Rite Aid... That's nothing to be proud of! He refused to make a return for me. I had my ticket and also what I wanted to return was store brand. Logo right on the container. I even had the credit card it was on. (Wanted to return Rite Aid brand vitamins... Not worth the money!) Horrible service. Cashiers repeatedly reject my coupons on the basis that they will only accept one coupon per item. BS! I am an informed consumer, and I know their coupon policy. I recently received a Rite Aid rebate check in the mail, which said I could use it as cash in the store. I used it on my next visit. The cashier took my rebate check and rang me up. It wasn't until later that I realized she hadn't applied my rebate check. I contacted corporate and was told that there was nothing they could do because the check was cleared shortly after my visit, meaning someone at the register had used it. Shady! read more

Worst customer service at the pharmacy, hands down, bar none. The clerk Thea had attitude the second she spoke to me, after innocently asking why it would be "hours" to fill my rx, (no estimated time, just "hours) I told her that was unacceptable, she pushes my rx back and tells me I can go elsewhere. Asked to speak to a manager, she state there wasn't one. Went to the front counter, found the manager. So not only rude but a liar also, she should be fired, but after reading all the posts about this place, I guess they value this type of employee. The manager Carol was as helpful as Thea was not. I was there to get a "controlled substance" and even got attitude from the pharmacist. She said not to take the rx as prescribed by the doctor, like she knows better. Who has more education I wonder, a medical doctor or a pharmacist? I won't go back there, ever, or maybe I will if I feel like being talked down to, treated like a leper or want to be terribly inconvenienced. read more
