How does this store stay open? There is never anyone in there? I don't know why. The cashiers are super nice. There prices are the same if not cheaper than CVS. The pharmacy is good. Curt rude slow not helpful we went through the effort to change to another pharmacy Safeway across the street. Super friendly at times super busy but always are pleasant to you. I suggest that corporate take a serious look at previous post for this location. It is evident by my experience here that whatever strategies you have tried are simply not working. Been going to Rite aid on Bell Rd for years. Store is clean, easy access, helpful staff and the pharmacy people are great.

Pharmacy is incredibly slow and staff are rude. Didn't matter what day or time you go, you will wait a minimum of 30 minutes sometimes an hour or more with nobody else in line. read more

Guess I should say that I've shopped here for everything except drugs. Not that I wouldn't, from 10 feet or so away it appears to be a fully functional and pleasant pharmacy. Just haven't had the need to actually fill a prescription in forever; as well everything INSIDE and across the counter is available OUTSIDE anyway and conveniently stuffed into one's window. Or backpack. Or hoop..such innovation these days. Bell @ 49's own little version of a drive-thru courtesy of The Bicycle Mafia of Auburn. Ok so as for all the other important things; which I shall now list in order of, err, importance: 1. Pepsi (1 litre) Basically a buck plus or minus some. Makes me happy. 2 Lubricant Nice selection. As with CVS et ux, prepare to get ^%^'d in price by double but sometimes Sierra College is just too damn far so there it is. Hot is fleeting. Your LubeTube channel shouldn't be. 3. Ice Cream (free range cone) A veritable cornocopulation of tasty tongue treats available in single, double or triple ways. As with myself - especially so when fully loaded - it's quite the cheap little tart and everyone gets a lick. Cold and delicious...Life/Art/Imitating. Get some. 4. Ice Cream (packaged) There really is nothing of value I can add here other than the joy of a nice package going home with one. One with a big wooden spoon and some milk. 5. Cleaning Products Loves me some finely OCD'd surfaces. They got all your super schnizz households here and when on sale are on good sale not pseudo-sale kinda like how CVS has been doing it lately. (Anyone else notice that CVS seems to be giving the FOAD to good sales lately?) RiteAid seems to be picking up that slack. 6. Random Yard Crap Impressive section of different artsy-like pots for your drama ferns and basics for the pedestrian pothos plant. Great solar everything you imagine on a string with the exception of anatomy parts which I always felt would be perfect at home there but none. Come Christmas, the LEDs will be everywhere and hit 'em quick when they go down to 50% they will go quick. So yeah, RIfeAid is cool. BUT... Whoever makes the policy on ID'ing those over 30, 40, 50 and denying them booze is an epic idiot. Check this out dude: Ladies over a certain don't really fall for the 'oh you look so young we have to card you BS' but like it anyway; especially when out with other chicks. So play that game with them but stop there; its annoying AF to dudes and I don't need the fake ego boost getting between me and whatever poorly chosen adult activity I may be about to engage in at that moment. So STOP being a cocktail block. Just be happy I'm on the hook for 16.00 worth of 7.99 WET and lemme go put my work in. Thanks. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy! The clerks are rude and slow. They never notify you if there's an issue. You find out once you get the phone call telling you your prescription is ready and get to the counter... only then do they tell you if there's been an issue. Meds are never ready.... just take your business elsewhere, this place is a no go! read more

Have been to the ER yesterday and to the DR. today. I sent my boyfriend to pick up the prescriptions at Rite Aid Bell road in Auburn. He returned and one of the antibiotics only had 2 pills in it and was suppose to be 20. Called them and I had to get out of my sick bed to go back down and pick up the rest. They said we are so sorry and I said not as sorry as I am as I am so sick and have been vomiting all night. read more

Well ya done ticked me off. I shop in this store ALL the time. I bought a knee brace on Sunday ($19.99) it didn't fit brought it back Monday. I used my debit card and also used my phone # for the store rewards. My husband threw away the receipt accidentally. Tried to return it Monday for a different brace. NONE of the knee braces were on sale. Told the guy I used my debit and store card could he look it up. NOPE they don't do that... he offered me $10 in store credit. GUESS what Rite Aid I can go to TARGET right across the street and they would have looked it up and give me back my $19.99!!! PHARMACY ONLY REVIEW This place is a joke and a butcher shop! I pick up my LAST prescription from this horror house tomorrow! Rite-Aid has ONE pharmacist on duty and when he takes lunch DON'T BE SICK because you're NOT getting your prescription!!!! I literally witnessed with my own eyes a poor old lady who had an abscess tooth be TURNED AWAY from getting the prescription she hurriedly tried to pick up after leaving work sick as she could be BECAUSE....the pharmacist was at lunch and Nurse Ratchet (see one flew over the Cuckoos' Nest) was at the pick-up counter. Despite her pleas to be able to just simply pick up her prescription and be on her way she was turned away. Then, Nurse Ratchet decided it was my turn. One problem....I don't put up with that crap. When she turned me away I came back once I knew the "at lunch" pharmacist was back on duty and she tried to punish me by stating that my prescription hadn't been picked up in time so she 86'ed it. I called her on her crap as the pharmacist quickly re-filled it before there was a gigantic scene. Oh, and Nurse Ratchet, you think you've got the power right? Just wait until I speak with the top dog at Rite-Aid. I've already gotten multiple people fired because of their incompetence so you have NO IDEA who you're messing with!!!! Brace yourself for a rant. The remodel, deals, and location of the pharmacy (near my house) are all a plus. HOWEVER, the pharmacist KARLON, white hair older gal, is extremely rude. This isn't the first time she's been rude. I'm sitting next to people right now who are mumbling how rude she is. People are here for medications they need for their health and wellness. And you have zero people skills? Definitely lacking being nice to customers. She talks to you like you're stupid. This Rite Aid needs to do themselves a favor and find nicer people that deal directly with the public before you lose even more customers. read more

The woman who works in the pharmacy is incredibly rude! We haven't had power from the snowstorm or cell service. We've been stuck in Colfax for 4 days and I called to make sure all 4 of my prescriptions went through because I haven't been able to get down there WE ARE SNOWED IN. Just your average drug store....but they do sell sewing & knitting stuff for the crotchety ladies in my household (hence the extra star). This store gives me the same feeling as K-Mart, in that its very dated and tired.....despite the attempt to change the store's layout with confusing criss-cross aisles. Poor service in Pharmacy. Two pharmacy techs were less than professional. They need better training in customer service. When I dropped off my prescription and told them I was a new customer the tech said "well I'll need to see your insurance card". Didn't ask me or say please, may I see your card? When I later returned I spoke to a different tech and told him I was tree to pickup Rx tech asks "who are you?" A more polite way to ask would be "may I get your name or the name of the person?" In addition was told 30-45 minute wait but almost an hour later still waiting. There are a couple of positives - Thrifty ICe Cream and love the convenience of Rite Aid and Walgreens type stores for picking up common items I need on the fly but don't want hassle of navigating and long lines of the larger box stores. read more

This has been my go to store for random items because of its proximity to my work. Before their recent remodel it was a very outdated store and the organization was lacking. Their recent remodel brought it up to par with newly built Rite Aide stores. I am a secret fan of their "available on TV" isle. They carry a variety of spa items from face masks to lotions on top of your standard drug store items, heck they even have a mini craft section. Their deals on alcohol are usually pretty good...glad for the remodel. Their customer service is good, there is one checker who talks A LOT so if that person is running the register I know it will take longer then normal to get in and out, but overall it's a good store. read more

CONS: And yes, this is all cons. This is for the pharmacy: Steve the pharmacist should be fired - no warning, no write up (and I'm sure he's already had plenty of both). He is a miserable human being who clearly abhors his job and most especially dealing with people. Steve needs to leave Rite Aid (is anyone from corporate paying attention to this employee?) and go to where miserable people go to live the rest of their miserable lives. Steve is he's the manager of the pharmacy no less; my mind takes me places it shouldn't as to how he made it to a management level. How did this happen? How did someone in corporate not see how horrible this man is? Uggg. Yes, he's that bad. He may be the most rude employee in a pharmacy (or any) setting I have ever dealt with and that's saying a lot when I've lived all over the world. CONTINUED CONS: My husband has a myriad of health issues, thus I'm at the pharmacy quite often picking up his meds and deal with a lot of pharmacy personnel. I usually call the pharmacy to make sure his meds are ready before I drive a fairly good distance to pick them up. Each time I call to make sure the meds are ready, I pray Steve doesn't answer the phone and most times if he does. If Steve answers the phone, I hang up and call back until I get someone else, hopefully not Karlon (the comments for her are below). If I am in a hurry and he Steve does answer, he yells into the phone: "Whaaatt? Speak up, I can't hear you!" This happens ..every single time I've had to deal with him on the phone - 100% of the time and I'm not exaggerating. I have never had a problem with my phone, or my voice, so maybe Steve needs to get a hearing aid - or better yet DON'T ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE IF YOU CAN'T DEAL WITH PEOPLE AND HAVE SOME MODICUM OF RESPECT.AND KINDNESS. Also, if Steve is answering the phone so often, I am concerned - is preparing meds correctly? Are the meds counted correctly? Are the meds even the CORRECT meds? He is so busy with the phone, this leaves a huge margin for error. Because Steve is the pharmacist, he is usually dealing with sick and/or older folks - be nice. Be respectful; it's really easy - truly. He is apathetic and horribly rude. I did figure out, it's not just me he's like this with. I actually questioned my own values and personality because of this man - I can't believe I did that - it is not me. If I have to wait for the meds, I've seen him answer the phone and do this to every single person deals with when he answers the phone. In person, it's just as bad. How this man was hired to begin with, I'll never know. How he made it to manager, I'll never know. Corporate - I see you respond to Yelp posts. Fire this man. As a publicist, one of the services I offer in my contracst is a "secret shop" task. The employees are called and dealt with in person numerous times to see how they respond in a normal situation as well as a difficult situation. If my client hired him (the employees are usually not corporate or union employees). If Steve were no protected by corporate my client would fire him - on the spot. He would never pass the secret shop test. Never. And FYI - Karlon is totally apathetic and needs to retire. She acts like an investigator for the FDA and assumes you are trying to do something illegal. I'm not sure if this is because we are dealing with pain meds. Though, again, I've seen her with other customers, and it's the same treatment. I beg you Karlon, please, please turn us in to the FDA - we are doing nothing wrong. My husband has had 3 quintuple heart bypass surgeries (first one at 36) and a major stroke and no longer works because of these medical tragedies. Think he needs pain meds? Yeah. Karlon is a drone. The whole damn pharmacy needs to be investigated. Yesterday, I had enough of Steve the pharmacist and switched all our medications to CVS. Paying attention corporate? You lost another customer. I will NOT be treated with disrespect. It's unacceptable and uncalled for. Rite Aid pharmacy loses another customer - due to Steve. And the employees at CVS, helpful, funny and on point. This review is specifically for the Rite-Aid pharmacy at this location. In short - avoid it. I often like to visit several stores during an errand run, and I will call the Rx refill line, when needed, to set a time as part of that process. Unfortunately, the pharmacy employees have no recognition of the promised pickup times or just don't care. I called in a refill recently and was told it would be ready by 10:15am. I went to the store at 2pm, and guess what? No refill ready! The person "helping" me just laughed and said "Oh, that thing lies". Nooooo, you lie! I can understand the prescription being refilled maybe 15-30 minutes late, but ~4 hours? C'mon, all you're doing is putting some pills in a bottle and putting a label on it. Maybe there's more to it than that, but blowing the pickup time by that much is ridiculous. You can guess the next thing out of her mouth: "We can have it ready in 15-20 minutes". That's great, I have nothing else to do than sit here and wait for something that should have been done 4 hours ago. In that circumstance, a sincere apology and a "I'll fill it right away for you" would indicate a basic level of customer service. I'd like to know if this unsympathetic stance is particular to this location or endemic at the corporate level. I suspect the latter based on the other pharmacy reviews here. I stopped in the next day at 5pm (note to self: go during the work day instead when everyone leaves work) and saw 5 people in line. Knowing how long it typically takes the Rite-Aid pharmacy employees to serve even 2 people in line, I turned around and went home. I'll try again today, and I have another prescription that was called in by my doctor yesterday. I have to remember to call someone at the pharmacy to check that it was received and processed. Previously, I've gone in a day or two after a doctor called in a prescription and the pharmacy hadn't even touched it yet. Very frustrating, and I've been advised that the Target pharmacy around the corner is much better, so I will switch there before I need more refills. read more

This is for the pharmacy: I'd give no stars if I could. Ever been to one of those places that's so badly managed that the employees have taken on a terminal "whatever" attitude whenever problems arise? I've never waited less than 1/2 hour on line. The people behind the counter are zombies. The pharmacist might not actually exist. The refill-by-phone gives you a pick-up time that apparently has nothing to do with when your prescription will actually be ready, which is maybe now, maybe later. The thing that I find really interesting about this place is the wierd crap they always have here. I had my prescriptions sent here for 2 years. EVERY SINGLE TIME it took all afternoon to get filled. They'd get the fax, sit on it until I walked in to pick it up (usually many hours later) and then tell me it would be 15 minutes. Mind you, there's ALWAYS a 20 minute line -- ALWAYS! After you look at all their talking fish heads and stand BACK in line (haha, you thought they'd just tell you when it was ready huh? no luck, that would be too nice) So another 20 minutes goes by and it's your turn at the counter again, low and behold it's still not ready and you get to repeat the whole experience again, and again. This has happened to me every single time I've had to pick up a script. It didn't matter if it was a refill I called in days ago or faxed in the same day. Their ineptitude has no bounds. I make the drive to Costco now, the drugs are cheaper there too. read more

If I had the ability to leave negative stars, I would. I take care of my ex husband's medical stuff and since he is on SSI, he is on Medi-Cal. It is a total pain in the butt, but it is my reality and so I deal with it. All of the people in the pharmacy are really helpful and I love working with them. Expect for one person, Rene! Rene has zero customer service skills. She is rude and abusive. Yes, I said abusive! I have even gone so far as to call corporate on her behavior and spoke with Pete, the apparent district manager, but there is still no change. Rene speaks to people as though she is the great and powerful Oz. She is rude and less than helpful. When I told her that there are a ton of people who are tired of being mistreated by her, her response was "good, go somewhere else if you want. I can care less". Wow. Thanks, Good to know that Rite Aid d could care less. It is unfortunate that Rite Aid could care less about the client. I should not have to argue with a pharmacy to get them to bill insurance. I have been lied to by Rene, insulted by Rene, and Rene continues to do whatever she wants without consequences. I wish that Rite Aid would open their eyes and see what a bad seed she is. First, please don't think that because there are only a few bad ratings for the pharmacy that it must just be a few ranters. It's not. It's really that bad. I'm taking time out of preparing for Christmas to write this. I'd rather be doing something else. We've been using this pharmacy for nearly five years. It's convenient for pick up on the way home from work. It's always busy with a long wait, but aren't they all? There is one very rude lady behind the counter that you pray you won't end up with while you wait in line. But now you have to call them to see if scripts are ready after a few days only to be told they're waiting to hear from your dr. Call the dr. It was approved days ago. The drs staff is asking what is wrong with them that they can't get it right the first time. Now the pharmsist is screwing up, filling scripts you didn't order, not the ones you did & and you have to start the process all over. He holds our lives in his hands. The trust is broken again, so we are moving our scripts to a less convenient option. Convenience isn't worth safety. read more

It's the pharmacy... I go here because the co-pays are reasonable but there is always a wait regardless if they're 10 people or no one waiting. It seems a twenty minute wait is mandatory and the staff is very busy even when there is no one there. Asking for a consultation means a further delay and almost inconvenient to the Pharmacist. It would help if they didn't sell general merchandise at the pharmacy counter as it slows things down even more. read more

Only needed to be able to breathe. After work, 5:15, I am told that it would be ready in about 45 minutes. ..seriously. the pharmacist is on his lunch, and it hasn't been processed yet.
