They are always out of the medication I need and have to reorder it, leaving me to wait 3 to 5 days for my prescriptions

I'd give zero stars if I could. This pharmacy is the worst of the worst. I was out of town and needed to fill a prescription, and unfortunately this is one of the very few options in Barstow. I called multiple times throughout the day over the course of four days on hold for hours trying to get my prescriptions transferred and filled. They are either understaffed or do not care. From the other reviews, I'm betting on the latter. It's now a week later and my prescriptions were finally filled but... It's now 9:10am on a Saturday and there is no pharmacist in sight. Not surprising given the other reviews. Guess we'll see if anyone shows up. I regret coming here, but with how long it took to get my prescription transferred, I didn't have time to go to another pharmacy. Please try any other pharmacy in town before this one. read more

Was driving home from Vegas and needed a drugstore ASAP. Yelped and found this was close by. It was easy enough to find. Off Barstow road on the I15. Located on a corner lot it had a lot of parking spaces. Interior was well lit and the floors were buffed to a high shine, I could see my reflection on them. There were a lot of things that were on sale especially in the allergy aisle. It's flu season after all. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. She helped my mom open her medication package and read the directions to her since she forgot her glasses. This my mom was able to take the antihistamine for the skin rash that was super itchy right then and there. The restroom was clean and well maintained. And yes they have Thrifty ice cream. I miss the Rite Aid down the street where I live because of the ice cream but it sure as hell didn't compare to this store. If ever I'm in the area again I'll surely hit up this Rite Aid for some Thrifty ice cream. read more

A one star is way to much to give. I passed through Barstow on my way to Long Beach, My Dr called in a prescription for antibiotics. They state they never got the order. The Rite aide app didn't show it. I called multiple times, finially getting a hold of someone around 9 pm. No script and name not on file. Messaged my Dr and she sent out another prescription to send to our Long Beach Rite aide. Couldn't fill because they filled it in Barstow. Again, not on the app and I COULD NOT GET A HOLD OF ANYONE before we traveled home. I called a total of 11 times, 4 times I reached someone to be put on hold for 15 min then hung up, or the phone just rang then stopped. My Rite aide is much more attentive and answers the phone. read more

I'm have become long suffering with the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Barstow California because they are close to my home and the convenience outweighs the employee incompetence. Rarely have I been in the drive thru pharmacy and received all my prescriptions as ordered. A typical medication refill for 3 prescriptions with require at least two trips to the pharmacy, this is of course after the automated phone call tells me my prescriptions are ready for pick up. The automated phone call is wildly inaccurate. But my pharmacy journeys this week topped even the worst experience I've ever had with Barstow Rite Aid. This week I tried to pick up 3 prescriptions AFTER being called telling me they are ready for pick up. Trip #1: On 05-09-22 I sat in a 55-minute wait at the drive thru line to get to the window. I was told that the prescription was not filled yet, come back tomorrow after 12 PM. Trip #2: On 05-13-22 I sat in a 45-minute line at the drive thru to be told EXACTLY THE SAME THING as before. Trip #3: On 05-16-22 I decided they needed more time, so I skipped some days to let them catch up, they seem so very busy, and rude. Why have customer service when there is a line wrapping around the parking lot? "Sorry it's been crazy could you come back Tuesday?" Trip #4: On 05-17-22 I arrive at 4PM to sit in 35-minute line (I timed all my wait times) to be told to come back in one hour. I come back in an hour and the drive thru attendant tells me they are closing early due to an emergency. They will fill my prescriptions (which I have now run out of) tonight and to get there early tomorrow for pick up. Trip #5: On 05-18-22 I get there at 8AM to find a six-car line, I get to the window and guess what? They filled 2 of the three medications, but not the one I was out of. I was told to come back in a couple hours. I told the attendant to forget it, I'll move my account to Walmart Pharmacy. I went straight home and called my doctor's office and had them move my account to Walmart. I don't learn too quickly I guess. These people are buffoons, please don't let them waste your time, they are worst than government employees. They need professional help. read more

I have shopped Rite Aid for years. They are always kind courteous and knowledgeably staffed. The pharmacist is WAY over worked and he and his staff are always smiling and friendly with a work load that is meant for a larger staff. Anyone unhappy with the pharmacy is wrong. I called yesterday to see if my prescription was ready for pickup cause it's due every 18th of the month and they said nope I don't see anything here and I said that's odd cause I usually pick up my prescriptions on the 18th or 19th it's just the way they communicate is awful, the pharmacist made it seem like I never picked my medication up before or ever had one so these people are definitely not on point or just choose to be assholes not really sure what the problem is but why be in this business if your not going want to help people ? Rite Aid in Barstow, CA has to be the worst pharmacy I've ever been too. I understand that sometimes people call off of work and you get slow or something things happen but they are so slow and short staff ALL THE TIME. It's terrible. If they don't have lines in the drive thru, they have lines inside that go out the door! And then if you call, they either don't answer your phone call or they put you on hold and NEVER get back with you. I've had so many arguments with people that work here that they've said I or my daughter never been here before so they don't have record of our prescriptions. I've been coming to this pharmacy all my life and so has my child and they keep saying they don't have record of us but they somehow found our prescriptions. IT MAKES NO SENSE. Awful!! Just spent an Hour & 15 minutes in line for a prescription that was Ready!! Drive thru was shut down, 15 people STANDING in line, only 1 person working the inside window and taking almost 10 minutes per person!! NO ONE ANSWERS the Phone so you can't call to check if a prescription is ready.. When I left there we're still 15 more people STANDING in line because the Drive-Thru (that I have Never Used) was Closed! Do yourself a favor and use any other drug store in town. Unfortunately if you have TriCare you can't use wallyworld. If you're going to run into Victorville for something or a Dr. I would Definitely recommend Rancho Drugs on Hwy 18 in Apple Valley because it's run very efficiently! I've used them off & on over the years and have Never waited more than 15 minutes for a New prescription I walked in with or Less with a refill that I Never had a problem with calling in to check to see if it was ready!! Big store, empty shelves. Pharmacy does not have enough people to serve customers, I estimated about a 45 minute wait for pickup inside and about 7 cars waiting in drive through. I skipped the pharmacy. I went to Che k out. Asked if they took Apple Pay, Marty the cashier said yes, I put my phone up and it did nothing. I said I guess this one does not take Apple Pay. Mary said no it doesn't but there are others that do.... I said no bother I have another card, so I use the tap with my card and that feature does not work either. Then a nosey customer wanted to become tech support. I said no bother, they don't have the technology Mary says they have. Mary interjects, well we do just not at this one. I kindly said, maybe let the customer know that ahead of time. I paid and Marty was very rude, you know the "have a nice day" rude! Yeah that's it. Very rude. The people there are rude and offer little help. If you call the pharmacy to check on a prescription, they never answer the phone. They will simply pick it up and return you to the automated system. This is the worst store I have ever dealt with. Every single pharmacist has lied. The workers in the pharmacy act as if their customer are bothering them. I have medication I take daily. They never have my prescription. If I don't go in person and complain I will not get it. Just today I called 50 times. Finally had to call the front of the store. The worker went into the back to have the pharmacy answer. The pharmacist said you called CVS. I said no rite aid. He said okay bye , I had to stop him from hanging up. Turns out I was right. He didn't even know where he was working. Then tells me the other pharmacist that had my Dr change my prescription because he said they never have the one my Dr prescribes, lied to me. Now they're saying they don't have the new medication that they told my Dr to change my prescription to. and to call my Dr. it's Sunday so I'm just screwed over? They could have warned me for weeks ago. But, once again no communication. I went in to speak to a manager. They said to call 1800 rite aid. They are also closed today. I've called them plenty of times and nothing is being taken care of. I understand issues with the medication. But I've been have issues for years. Why not just call me when it's available. They won't. They can't even answer phones politely. Now I'm going to be behind on my medication when because I trusted the word of the main pharmacy manager Fadi: who lied, and rite aid for having a pharmacist work in their store that doesn't even know he works for them. Dropped off my prescription at 130, said it would be ready by 3pm came to get it at 430. Waiting so looongbin the heat that I had to turn my engine off to keep it from over heating. It was Sunday and they almost closing. I asked the pharmacist to transfer my Relpax from CVS. He was on hold for more than 30 min to get my rx from CVS. In 5 minutes my med was ready. Drive thru really sucks. For me a drive thru is when you drive up give your info and the get your prescription, pay then your out. There always only one person at the drive up. This was my second time coming to this rite aid. From the weekend from visiting my mom and aunt. I came here with my mom to pick up some woman stuff and I told her I would pay for it. So when we got to the till, the cashier's name was Betty. Im not sure if she was having a bad day or it was hot and she was bothered. But when my mom went to her with the products Betty asked do we have a rewards card and my mom said no, while I was reading a magazine so she ranged her up and I said I had a rewards card. Then Betty said or she said no you dont have one and ill have to void the transition and she said it with a tone where I work with customers and I would have never said it the way she did. Made me feel like I should take my business else were. But we are in Barstow and there are not many places. But please know I will not be going back for my self. The pharmacy workers are slow and they only have one person at cashier helping. I first waited on one side for my pseudoephedrine that I needed behind the count and the rep said "oh you have to to go on the other side" which was pick up. The rep could of just got them for me, I would have paid and been on my way there was no one else in line except me. Now, I go to pick line and there is one person assisting the customers. I waited 45 mins just to get this non prescription from the back of the pharmacy. This is crazy. This is poor customer service. There is also no stars on the card swipe to indicate if you are satisfied with service in the pharmacy. read more

If I could give 0 stars the pharmacy would get 0, It's kind of funny (not haha funny) how one of the pharmacist can refuse to give you your meds because he's having a moment of total stupidity and believes he is God and his boss has to call you the next day to apologize for his employees actions and now it's like they are doing it all over again because they are taking their time in transferring my prescriptions. When I called they said they don't have me in their system but when Walmart called and asked them to transfer my prescriptions they only transferred 3 out of 12 and that's after I think 3 phone calls from Walmart. I don't know if it's just the Rite Aid in Barstow but the pharmacy likes to play games with people, they lie when you call by telling you your meds are ready and when you go to pick them up you wait in line for 20 min plus and you get to the window and they tell you it's not ready and to come back, if you call them then you need to be prepared to waste at least 30-45 min of your time on hold only for them to come back and tell you it's not ready and that's if they even bother to come back at all. I sure do miss Vons Pharmacy and the people there. Rite Aid needs to send their Barstow Pharmacist to school and teach them some etiquette. read more
