What can I say, I love me some fried gizzards. Unfortunately there are very few places you can find them in Los Angeles so when I'm on the road I always look for a Love's. They usually house a Chester's Chicken within and their fried gizzards are mmmmm mmmmm good! For the past two weekends I've gone to Las Vegas and both times stopped at the Love's in Barstow. Both times we were actually greeted by the cashier as we walked in. I don't know if that has happened to me at any gas station let alone consistently two weeks in a row by different people. And the workers at the Chester's were so super sweet and friendly. Is it living in Barstow that has everyone so nice? Maybe I've been underestimating this area. Last week Semaj hooked us up with some freshly fried gizzards. They were a little on the salty side but Semaj was so sweet and so cool that didn't stop me from enjoying them. This was my friends first time trying gizzards and she's hooked too. Barstow is too far to just make a gizzard run but this Love's is definitely going to be my regular stop to and from my Vegas runs. read more

We go to love's travel stop to get a quick hotdog and some fruit and get back on our way quickly. The place is clean. I think you can take a shower. I'm not sure if it's just for truckers. And it's just a highlight of the trip. read more

Loves truckstop is really cute. It has food that you can build up enough points. If you buy it to take a shower for the truckers, they have souvenirs and food ready to go coffee and a change of clothes. If you wanna buy it it's really cute. The people are really nice. We dropped an AirPod and it shows it was underneath the propane shelving unit. I asked the nice cashier if a maintenance tech could come help us locate it . She did. The guy named JUSTIN told us that it's not his AirPod and for us to find it ourselves. He said what did you expect me to do, I politely said to look under the crate (as we are to ladies). He said it's not his problem or his AirPod. He's not lying , but what happened to common courtesy and respect for us ladies. Was here for work and had to stop in and get a chicken sandwich. It's the perfect snack on the go. Love's has showers, gas, hot foods and snacks, mainly for truckers, but also for any travelers. They have two entrances, one for automobiles and another for big rig trucks. It's always busy here but the workers are always polite and efficient. If you see one on your long drive, definitely pull over and stop in to refuel your vehicle and yourself. read more

This travel stop is the furthest away from I-10 so it's never on our radar while traveling to/from Vegas to SoCal. However, a road sign that said "Godfathers Pizza" made me ant to explore a bit further. (Godfather's Pizza has always been one of my favorites, but they aren't plentiful in SoCal.) Godfathers and Chester's Chicken are in a separate area, so I had to explore the store to get to restrooms (the most important part of stopping here). The store is a typical travel stop, with a bit extra I discovered. More like a mini Five and Dime type store. You can tell by other's pictures, the store is clutters with a mishmash of items, most geared towards travel. You could tell they cater beyond truckers though as family necessities were available as well. For example - toys for the kids. The bathrooms have been well used over the years, but were clean, as was the rest of the store. Since we're in the middle of COVID, the food-to-go area wasn't as stocked as I'm sure it normally would be, but they had plenty of pre-made sandwiches and the likes. Would I go out of my way just to use the bathrooms? Maybe, but I would return for some Godfather's Pizza. read more

Anyone who's made the soul-crushing trek from Los Angeles to Las Vegas always seems to stop in Barstow for a much needed break. The addition of this Love's means no more jockeying for a position at the nearby Pilot. Keep going a tiny bit further and you'll hit this truck stop, my preferred stop in town. Love's has well laid out gas pumps so it's easier to maneuver in and out even when it's busy. The convenience store is really great, they have a huge variety of snacks, drinks, hot food, sundries and more. The store is well stocked with trucker approved gifts too. I've always wanted to play a game where I give my husband $50 and have him shop for me for Christmas only buying things in this store. It would be hilarious -- especially if you want a bedazzled hat or a fake leather fringe vest! The restrooms aren't the best either (always dirty with broken door latches, etc.) but there usually isn't a line! read more

I love Loves. Seriously I enjoy the well lit gas pumps, the variety of food, and the access to a microwave, but the one thing I notice everytime I go into a Loves is their soda machine carbonation sucks. There's either no carbonation and none of the workers seem to know how to change it out or there's very little and when I say something, again, all the workers just look at one another and say, yeah well let the maintenance people know. Wtf? Every worker should know how to change out a CO2 tank. It's not rocket science. It's very annoying because travelers want drinks and are having to buy higher priced bottles beverages, which suck if you want fountain. It also gives me pause as if the workers know nothing about the soda machines, are they cleaning them? I doubt it. Something to think about. read more

The manager Austin was incredibly rude and condescending when it came to using the laundry machines. The washers and dryers are defective and will eat up your money. I put 3 quarters in the washer for 1 load and when it wouldn't start Austin told me to put 2 more in and didn't issue me a refund, resulting in me wasting my money for their problem. When I was only given 10 mins for the dryer Austin was unapologetic, rude and said "I can't issue a refund, you needed to tell me before hand if it said 10 mins" without letting me explain that the dryer did in fact say 60 mins. I will NOT be returning to this Loves. I advise to stop at any other truck stop but this one. read more

Clean bathrooms and clean fresh showers there is never a disappointment with this loves location but truck parking is very limited so you have to shut down a little early cause the parking lot fills up fast, they have Chesters chicken even though I never tried it yet but overall good experience with the employees and service. read more

When ever my brother Chris and I drive to our home in Bullhead City to visit our Mom we always stop at Love's to gas up and use the restroom. Now this place is not just for truckers but it's a great place for road traveling civilians. Want to buy some pig skins to munch on they got. Want a cowboy hat they got. Want to buy some NASCAR gear they got it. CB radios, portable electric devices, fancy walking canes, flash lights you name it they got it. I bought an nice pendleton shirt for $9.99 and they had some nice leather jackets for $75.00 that I was eyeballing. The place is clean and they have nice bathrooms but sometimes you have to beware. Remember this is a truck stop and if you have to go number 2 one never knows what they will get walking into the bathroom stall. Truckers don't have the best diets and a couple of times I was sitting on the toilet and I could smell all the years of chip beef being flushed down the toilet next to me. Would give zero stars, if I could. The pumps have issues.. either the shut off valve doesn't work or it's over charging you. The general manager is very rude and lacks complete customer service manners. They profile everyone that comes in to purchase .. and if you are shopping look around they have employees following you around the store based on appearance they will assume you are going to steal from them. Called for a roadside for 4 tires said they can't come onto ta to work on a truck if I could bring it in . That will call me when they can work on the tires it shouldn't be more then maybe 2-3 hours . I called back after 5 hours . Gas is a decent price, restrooms are clean, DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD AT THE PUMP! My card info was stolen here two years ago at the outside pump, so always pay inside. Do NOT EAT AT THE CHESTER'S CHICKEN. THEY DUMP ALL YOUR FOOD IN ONE BAG TO SAVE MONEY, nasty. Also, Black people, if a manager named Miranda is on duty, DO NOT buy food at Chesters Chicken. This is my go to gas station when I drive to Vegas. It's on the opposite side of the Outlets, away from all the eateries, and has cheaper gas too! The best thing about this gas station is the size. If you are not a trucker, you really would have no reason to ever hit up a truck stop. I would never think I would go to one, but my traveling companion got all excited for Godfather's Pizza after we passed an advertisement on the way to Vegas. We later learned that Godfather's is within this location (along with Chester Chicken and Love's Subs). I ordered a sub sandwich and the ingredients were really, really awesome. The chick working behind the counter was not the sharpest tool in the shed ("Did you say Turkey and Cheese?" "No, Ham and Cheese." "Mayonnaise?" "I said mustard only!"), but she is a heck of sandwich artist. The food from the restaurants is cheap too. I used the restroom and was pleased to find that it was clean. Also, the convenience store is massive and has a lot of items for any passing traveler. There are also showers (take a number) and a game room and even a bunch of phones to make collect calls (though who would use them in this age of the cell phone). Gas for any truck or sedan is available and is super cheap; quite possibly the cheapest in Barstow. Honestly, the next time I hit up Vegas, I will remember this place. Worst customer service I've ever received from any truck stop. I walked in at about 2 am, give or take. I first went to use the restroom, as I walked in there there was a lady folding towels who gave me a dirty look. I thought nothing of it, came out and asked her about the tire shop. She said, she didn't have the number and he was out on a call. I asked her, what do you mean, you don't have the number? You work here, I told her, she ignored me, so I went to another lady. She kindly took my information and put it up on the counter. The guy from the tire shop came in and started helping other people by then there was three other truckers needing help. I asked him for help, he said, he was not the one taking care of the tires. I waited over 5 hours. I kept asking for help only to be ignored. I'll never ever come here for truck repairs. These people need an headed to the adjustment and better training on customer service. This place is a nightmare! Today on our way to LasVegas I called in to Chester's Chicken, spoke with Brittany and place an order for an large gizzard, dipped once and she asked how close was I and I stated that I was currently in Hesperia so she said they would start to cook them in about 15 minutes. Once I was in Chester's Chicken I let the girls at the counter know I was the call in for the gizzards and they quickly told me my order was ready. While there I also choose to pick up a two piece for my brother. Okay once in the car I prayed over my food and then my husband and I started to eat but I noticed the gizzard were double dipped and also they were not fresh nor fried in new grease. I am so sad because I really wanted these gizzards. So I called Brittany she didn't even show concern. I am an unsatisfied customer... Before grabbing a few winks, I watched as an employee sprinkled sand-like granules onto the concrete parking areas to "push-broom up" the moist debris from our vehicles. If you are a Southern Californian driving to Las Vegas or vice versa this is a great place to stop, stretch your legs, let the dogs have a potty break and get gas. It's a truck stop and it has a little of everything here (even DVD's). If you like southern fast food, they have a Chester's inside and they have items like fried chicken, fried chicken livers & gizzards and even friend corn. For you healthier eaters, they do have a sandwich shop with some healthier choices. Gas is always priced competitively and they have diesel. read more

This was close to the motel and as I've mentioned during my trip, Love's is a consistent, reliable brand. I had to access directions to find this one, but it wasn't too bad and the pump worked well, receipt and all. The price for diesel was more than for gasoline, but ever pump I saw had a diesel hose, and that's worth a lot. The price wasn't too bad--$4.189. I was expecting more than $5.00 just because it was California. I'd paid that much for gasoline in 2005 and 2006 in SD/LA. read more

If you're taking a quick trip to LA from Vegas or vice versa a stop in Barstow, especially if you have kids with you is a must. Love's is our preferred stop for several reasons. While it's located a bit further West off the 15 than some of the other travel centers like TA, I'll pass those other places as Loves is less of a zoo to get in and out of. Inside you'll find clean restrooms that are frequently maintained. This is a big deal if you have kids with you that go yuck if something's not right with the restrooms, and Love's does not get any yuck comments from them. If you've forgot a charger cable for your phone, you'll find one here. Need coffee? They keep their coffee fresh, the cups and supplies are stocked, and the whole place is clean. If you're pulling a trailer but are not driving a commercial vehicle you'll find it's not a pain to get into the pumps like some other travel centers are. Road trips can be a bit of a pain, but stopping for gas should not be a source of stress. If you stop at this Love's it won't be stressful at all. read more
