Absolutely the most disappointing experience at the pharmacy. I went to pick up my disabled father's meds, which I have done for almost a decade at this location. I was picking up pain meds and questioned over and over about why. I am not only an IHSS in home care giver and that is on file. But I am also his daughter who gives them ID every time. It is always the older male pharmacist who has personally filled the same meds for me over the years. Then after almost 10 minutes of questioning tells me he won't give my dad the meds again till his doctor gives him a urine drug test. Basically accusing me of taking my father's meds!!! Gross abuse of authority and down right disrespect to care givers. Never again read more

Came here for their Thrifty ice cream I love the quality and flavor options. The store itself is very well kept with lots of convenience options available. I enjoyed my double scoop rocky road with pistachio and an ice cream cone single scoop pistachio for less than $5 for both. Great location definitely recommend a try. read more

Before I begin I am not a family or personal friend of any employee. I have been a client for several years. Kristy the lead pharmacist and manager has been nothing less than heroic and especially during these difficult and challenging times. I have interacted on many occasions with Nicole one of the senior techs at the pharmacy, She has always been professional, courteous, and compassionate. The other techs including, Candy, Chrystal, Mary, and Jamie should be commended during this difficult time. I realize that it is frustrating to wait in line when it appears that the staff is facing you through the window. They are constantly refilling walk-in, text-in, fax in prescriptions. On several occasion's I have observed patients verbally abusing staff. Please try to be kind. In addition to interacting with patients, there are other entities that they are required to communicate with including physicians, insurance, etc. I apologize if I've left any staff members names absent, as patients we need to be patient, a kind and encouraging word now and then can make a far better impact. The women at the pharmacy go above and beyond when it comes to filling my prescription, they call me when my prescription are ready or if they are having issues with filling my prescription. I have seen them multitasking and dealing with difficult customers and always having a smile on their face despite the pressure they are under. I didn't understand the low rating this Rite Aid has until I looked at how old most of bad reviews were. I have been going to this Rite Aid for years and years. Yes, sometimes there is a wait -- usually when the after school and after work people drop in. I avoid those times. I was there this afternoon and there was no line. I was helped immediately. There were a couple of problems with my insurance billing (not Rite Aid's problem but I am covered by two insurances and sometimes there is conflict) but they alerted me to it and we made a plan to straighten it out. No problem and it will save me a lot of money. How could you ask for better service than that? read more

The pharmacist was super nice and we were told it was going to take about 20 minutes. She made sure we signed up for text or phone call alerts to let us know our Rx was ready. This is the closest Rite Aid to my home, and I come here every week or two. Rite Aid has an advertising supplement to the Sunday newspaper that occasionally has some really good bargains. This store is located in a nice shopping center which also has a Vons, Romesco and other restaurants, a Mission Fed ATM, and by gosh, a gun store. What more could a guy ask? My main reason for visiting Rite Aid is, oddly enough, beer by the case. They usually have the best prices in town for very popular brands. For example, today I bought a case of Sol Mexican beer, and St. Pauli Girl beer, now a German import, each for $9.99 (12 bottle case). That's a good deal ! However, I have noticed a very high degree of turnover among the cash register operators, resulting in on-the-job-training with concomitant delays. And on far too many occasions, staff engages in very important conversations with each other while customers pretty much just stand around and wait for them to finish. Um, doesn't the customer pay your salary? I've never used the pharmacy here. So, despite the great bargains they advertise, and the very comprehensive beer selection, this store is no better than A-OK. read more

Don't fill your prescriptions here! They'll give you the hardest time. I had to get some Percocet because Norco made me nauseous and they refused to give it to me. They even lied and told me my insurance was expired (when I recently used that SAME insurance for my dental procedure and nasal surgery). Plus I went on a Friday and they wanted me to wait until Monday once they called my dental office to make sure I needed it. We usually have to wait to order ice cream and that's cool. Today Diane asked us to pay before we actually had our ice cream, which I thought was unusual, but whatever. She told me I could have 3 scoops and a waffle cone on top but another woman came to help and checked my receipt to see what I paid for but not before she kept trying to rush me to order and kept offering help to the person behind me before she finished with our order. She was very impatient with us! She proceeds to tell me she thinks she's offering good service, ha! What a joke! So I tell her straight out that she is not giving good service! Try parking in front, its not worth it might as well go to the larger parking lot. This pharmacy is great for booze, all types of booze always on sale. Snacks are always on sale also, this place is where you can get anything on the cheap. I guess you can fill prescriptions here also. Only thing is they close early 9pm, if you are gonna get your booze or prescriptions do it early...and park in the regular lot. read more

This pharmacy is-by light years ahead-the BEST pharmacy I have found in San Diego, seriously! I have to admit that I have Rite Aid loyalty, although it's for good reasons and LOTS of experience. I am a disabled middle-aged female whose condition requires me to take regular medication. My job also requires me to travel for months at a time. After dealing with many, many frustrating, rude and sometimes even humiliating pharmacies, I will now only deal with Rite Aid. It might be that they hire more qualified people, or pay them/train them more, and don't force them to work skeleton crews (usually they are well-staffed), my experience with courtesy, responsibility, and efficiency has always been EXCELLENT with this Rite Aid. The staff knew my face and basic information on sight and greeted me kindly way before I came to recognize them. If there is any sort of issue or problem, THEY call ME right away and we get things settled so that my prescription will not be delayed. They KNOW WHAT prescriptions I have and WHEN I fill them, and try to always HAVE THEM AVAILABLE when it's time for my refills. This is a huge benefit and relieves any stress about running out of medication. They also always let me know if there are going to be any differences in the medications they provide, and the pharmacist is patient and very clear in answering any questions I might have. They cannot always fill my script the same day (although they usually can), sometimes they need to order it or wait a few days to fill it, but, when I bring in my prescription, they always let me know the soonest possible time that it will be available, and it has ALWAYS been ready by that time. I am so happy with this store that I sincerely hope the higher-ups know that their employees working directly with the public (and sometimes a difficult subset of the public--the unhappily sick) are really doing a great job and should continue to be valued...a lot...like, how-about-a-raise-for-the-entire-Bonita-pharmacy-staff a lot. Candy, especially, is always awesome! The pharmacist, Karina, is also wonderful. I would love to see more Rite Aid stores nation-wide. Parking here is okay as long as you don't try to get a spot right in front of the store. Unfortunately, some of the newer staff, hired over the past few months, could use some more training. I like being a regular and not re-explaining things, so perhaps the experienced staff could try to introduce the "regulars" to the newer people. This last point is less review-y, but I'm just going to throw it in. I hope that this review shows not only that I highly recommend this pharmacy, but that I appreciate them. The transition from being healthy (or having no major/chronic medical issues) to needing to take medication everyday to have "healthy-feeling" days is inherently hard, stressful and not fun. The Bonita Rite Aid pharmacy has made my life smoother, less stressful, and therefore better. This is definitely NOT TRUE for many other pharmacies! Beware! I always have to wait way too long. No one ever says "I'll be right with you" and then there is always one person at the register even when the line is very long. It's one of the only pharmacies in Bonita, so they can get away with it. I gave it two stars because a couple of the staff is nice. Waiting for 20 + minutes every single time you go in is incredibly irritating. read more

On the Monday of 10-15-12, I pulled up to the front entrance of the Bonita Rd. Rite Aid at 8:54pm - 6 minutes before closing time. 2 other cars also showed up at 8:55pm and 8:56pm. This Rite Aid store had CLOSED AT LEAST 5-10 MINUTES EARLY! My watch is accurate as it's an atomic watch. Apparently Rite Aid (or at least this location at 4348 Bonita Rd.) doesn't want or need your business. The manager is more interested in leaving early and getting home than staying open until 9PM! On that night Rite Aid lost 3 angry customers who wasted gas hurrying to get there, and all of whom went to the next door Vons instead. read more

pros...very nice and friendly morning staff. this is the time i go there cause i am in need for clinic supplies. not the most inexpensive place to get things, but they are close and handy, and always nice to me. this is another place where the ladies there call me "mi ejo"! i get a great big smile and a hearty "hello can i help you?" cons...not much, but try not to park right in front, just cause it is a pain to get out of there sometimes. ouch, waited a good couple of minutes to get out...this is right before 8:30am. there shouldn't be this type of congestion that early in the morning. read more

DON'T use this pharmacy!!!! You don't get poor service here - you get NO service. If the line to the counter is two or three persons long expect to wait an hour before your turn is up. Once you reach the counter a simple prescription pick-up will take you another 30 to 45 minutes. When I moved to Bonita 5 years ago I spoke to the pharmacist about the complete lack of service - she told me they knew they had a problem and were working on it - 5 years latter no improvement. I hate this place, if it wasn't so close to my house I would never use this pharmacy! The staff is always completely rude and not helpful! Every time I call in they are very rude and act like I don't deserve their time, as if their time is more important than mine. When I go in I wait forever to get my medicine.
